Does this mean no-one will be allowed to get a lower wage than the set minimum wage? Or is this only for the government positions?

OK, but I still do not know the answer to my question -- can I use IDP for one year in Thailand, or just 6 months a year, or just 3 months a year (to be covered in case of an accident—I know the cops do not care otherwise)? Perhaps the only way to find out is to ask the insurance company or read the insurance agreement (in case it is in English)...
-
If I rent a car, I always give them my IDP and no one says anything. But this "3 month a year" thing is making me a little nervous since I visit Thailand at least 2 times a year and that would mean from the second visit I would not be covered in case of an accident. The insurance companies tells the fine print things only if they are to pay.

Is there an official document stating that I might have a problem if I would get involved in an accident with the IDP? I did not find anything on this on Internet but me friend keeps convincing me that I need a Thai driving license which is officially not possible on a tourist visa.

OK, please move to the motoring forum. Thank you.

99.99%? And this estimate is based on what?

Hello,
I was told that the International Driving Permit (IDP) is supposed to be valid only for the first 3 months after the entry to Thailand, and upon re-entry it is no longer valid, is this true? I suppose since it has a validity of 1 year, when I re-enter Thailand on tourist visa, I get again 3 months, until the exspiration date. Please advise.
Thanks.

I do not remember the name already but the building was yellow

I could get one in a bank on Koh Samui on tourist visa, no problem at all. 500 baht per year, I used it for one month.
-
I have just done the visa run to Poipet, and with e-visa one does not even have to wait in the queue in the immigration since they process them in different building. I can only recommend it, and will do it again.

but other users might want to know, too

it is 200 baht for others, not 400.

Paypal sucks big time because it forces you to use their terrible exchange rates. Spread the word and we might see some change, hopefully in a few years, if ever.

Is it possible to have a PP account in Cambodia that withdraws to a bank there in USD? Do not most banks in Cambodia use the $?
not possible, more info in here: http://www.khmer440.com/chat_forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=12564

So you can have several bank accounts in different countries off one PayPal account correct?
Not sure about this but you definitely can not withdraw USD to Thai bank account. USD is possible to withdraw only to a bank account in USA.
As regards the terrible exchange rates that Paypal offers, they have a reason for not showing them publicly as anyone could see the rip-off directly.

evisa is $25 which is about 750 THB (standard visa is $20/600 THB). Visa run offered by the companies are 2000 THB for farangs, 700 for filipinos or other nationalities not requiring the visa. That means the visa run companies sell you the visa for 1300 THB/$43. My 2 cents.

Because its the ask the expert section.
OK, but I can not even respond to their response then...
-
I second that, one day overstay at the airport is still without fine, no problem reentering, too (happened to me 2 times already).
-
CC is processed in a standard way on a secure server, no need to worry about the security, I use e-visa all the time and never had any problem... It is that the visa run company looses some money from you if you buy the e-visa so they might not like the idea.
-
Exactly as you say, sending to an USD account in Thailand will have the result ob it being converted from USD to baht and back to USD and you will loose about 15% on a round trip.
-
USD account in Thailand will not help you since Paypal does not allow withdrawing in USD, only in Thai Baht, obviously they make much money with their terrible exchange rates so the only option is to make an USD account in USA. Paypal simply sucks and many people loose much money due to their bad exchange rates!

Unless you are a big beer guzzling, large western food food eater and sexpat, 12,000 per month is plenty just for sustenance. Most Thais do it on 150 baht per day, but for them pizza, big macs, kfc and the likes are considered a rare treat rather than a daily thing.
I can live without pizza, big macs, and kfc all the year long, and I definitely would not call this junk food a treat at all.

No, it is the problem with all Sunbelt sponsored topics, I do not like it either. Why not allow replies from other members, too?

no chance, just a virtual promo, http://www.tunehotels.com/our-hotels/pattaya has them at 1200 baht per day

Since officially they do not hand them out for tourist visa holders. Or do you think they need tourists visiting the national parks for the Thai price?
