    The MOE have had many different scams, for a while it was the 4 exams, in which 2 were almost impossible to pass. The change these scams every few years.

    I worked in universities in the past, about 15 years ago and got a very low salary. However, I could almost double that by doing private work. Thais love getting taught by a university teacher, and pay well. I gave that up years ago and now get approximately 4x what I got there by teaching Fortune 500s online.

    They should also look into the amount of money that the immigration officers have to pay to secure their position in a tourist location!!

    I used to see Khon Kaen IOs regularly park their marked car outside BIg C's door, walk in an buy gold. Absolutely no shame, it's about time they got their comeuppance. Not only them, but the Thai agents that coordinate with the foreign criminals who don't qualify to stay here.

    If you don't have enough money to satisfy immigration requirements, you have the choice to go home or break the law, bribing an IO. I hope you are not saying its OK to use an agent!

    Recently, I got a new Thai passport and the women wouldn't speak to me, but spoke to my daughter ;(

    I go there regularly to pick up my youngest from the nearby school. Strangely, it's she who tells me to stop being offended by foreigners' behaviour, she says Thais don't mind.
