  1. It was much worse when I went there 15-22 years ago
  2. Don't apes have souls? If you are interested in discovering what the soul is and how to have soul consciousness, the following is the best organisation I have found. https://www.brahmakumaris.org/
  3. Most I know have had farang wives and not have Thai ones. I think most, if honest, would prefer a farang one, but they are past their sell by date and can only get attractive Thai ones.
  4. What many farang don't want to address is that most Thais don't like us and don't want to deal with us unless a necessity.
  5. I think many farang feel 'less than' when they live here, possibly due to not understanding the culture, or not speaking the language. When the ego feels threatened, it lashes out, and concocts all kinds of insane stories to not feel less than.
  6. It's called a 'doggy bag' and the few Thai Hi-Sos I know ask for one. My kids' Godmother, who owns a luxury hotel in Hua Hin, even asked here own staff for a doggy bag the other day, and lets dogs stay there. In my experience, it's the peasant women, who marry farang that enjoy, rightfully so, to order more than they need.
  7. Thanks Maestro, just need to go to immigration and get something like the following written by the officer there.
  8. Indeed, my wife, who has never been to England loved trying to figure out whodunnit!
  9. I prefer playing Tannarat after 3 pm, 9 holes 350 baht, instead of 450 for foreigners.
  10. I would expect to wait about 18 months minimum from when your docs were sent to MoI until interview. This is by far the longest wait - Jai yen yen.
  11. not true I have personal experience - I came on UK passport, became Thai and went to immigration, who cancelled my visa extension, wrote I was Thai.
  12. Thai immigration don't know what they are talking about. Your friend is Thai, so doesn't need to leave the country.
  13. What makes you worthy of respect?
  14. Don't even need to show a passport, just a Thai ID.
  15. Best to make a joke about it, and if you can't do that, then that is maybe the reason she is not wanting to communicate with you
  16. Often, I put things into perspective by imagining the same situation in the UK, but the Scots woman is with a 10 foot tall guy in a Sheik outfit.
  17. Interested to know if Thai men have the same issue. Maybe it's not a racial thing.
  18. Drives me crazy, wife usually tells them to give to me. Worst is when I am driving and I stop to ask directions, or security guard looks in the driver's window, straight through me to my wife. Actually it was more annoying when it was to my kids when they were young. Often don't get menus. Recently bought a m/c and the woman selling wouldn't answer my questions, so walked straight out.
  19. It was strange, the amount of coverage it got. I watch Sky, and think they were trying to make it like a soap opera.
  20. Strange her story was on the main news every day, for just one missing woman. Meanwhile 10s of thousands dying in earthquakes etc.
  21. Thanks all, changed timer setting to 8, hours a day, crystal clear now.
  22. Another thing, is Thai driver's licence OK to drive in the UK? I only have an old paper UK one.
  23. Going to the UK and my mother has to renew her car insurance in a few days. She's just off the phone and was told that she can't put me onto her insurance for a month as I'm not a UK resident. Her insurance said no insurance company will do that, which I find hard to believe. Anyone got any experience with being added onto a parents car insurance?
