  1. Just a different culture. How is the country in a mess?
  2. Good point I find most Thais to be polite and friendly, however not if the strangers got the wrong posture or is scruffy. Thais are very perceptive.
  3. Few foreigners understand the Thai hierarchical social structure and how farang don't get onto the first rung of the social ladder. Even fewer understand how to show obeisance to those on higher rungs, ie every Thai. When the right obeisance is not given, offense is taken.
  4. Imagining a Japanese tourist in Scotland in a lift trying to talk to local in Japanese and complaining that they don't respond
  5. What language do you speak to them?
  6. It seems that Israel are killing thousands of civilians, mostly women and children in order to kill Hamas, yet are not willing to hurt any Israelis in the process. Kind of sums up how Israelis value Palestinians.
  7. Oh, absolutely! Because nothing says peace and understanding like advocating for eradication and bloodshed, right? It's truly heartwarming to see such empathy and compassion shining through. And yes, because we all know that demonizing an entire population based on the actions of a few is the epitome of rationality and fairness. Keep spreading that love and understanding!
  8. If someone accuses me of supporting Hamas, I have to reply to them. I feel sympathy to the Israeli supporters, they really are in a dilemma. However, there are Jewish/Israeli people who have integrity and condemn what Israel are doing.
  9. I find it very sad that, as an Israeli, you have no compassion for Palestinians.
  10. A couple of serious gang fights in Aberdeen. I was a punk, against bikers and soccer casuals. Once I was attacked by a gang outside a night club on boxing day, 20-5 but managed to get it to a square go, including me. I was a good fighter(Chinese Boxing) and always got up. I was winning and the gang jumped back in. Luckily a police car came - took me to hospital. A couple of huge fights when playing rugby. Broke my nose 10 times. Once in Bangkok, got into a fight with a taxi driver. He tried to overcharge me. He jumped out the car, walked up to me and punched me. I instinctively punched back. He went back to the car and took out a tyre lever and started walking towards me. I was fearless in my younger days when full of alcohol so stood in a Bruce Lee stance and he eventually went away. Beaten up by bouncers in 2 nightclubs in Nontaburi, put in hospital. Could have been worse. Never been in a fight for decades, after stopping the drink.
  11. Revolut stopped me using their card. I'm registed in Thailand. I use Crypto.com, much better.
  12. Exactly. Similarly, there was anti-Muslim feeling after 9/11, or anti-US feeling after Iraq. No one likes to see innocent civilians die in their thousands.
  13. Israel committing Genocide, increase in antisemitism. Am I missing something obvious here?
  14. I hate Hamas, obviously, what makes you think otherwise?
  15. Did you Israelis give them the money? You sound like you think you own the Palestinians, telling them what to do and where to go.
  16. Nonsense, I wrote Israel's part in it. You said 'Arabs attacked'. Noticing how you didn't deny any of what I wrote.
  17. Who made them and is makig them refugees? Perhaps they ought to stop.
  18. While you are obviously biased, and I'm not blaming you, both sides are responsibile for peace and the establishment of a two-state solution, violations and breaches have occurred on both sides. Blaming one party while absolving the other of any wrongdoing only perpetuates the cycle of violence and hinders the prospects for a just and lasting resolution to the conflict. Here are examples of instances where Israel also breached agreements: Settlement Expansion: Despite commitments to freeze settlement construction in the occupied territories, Israel has consistently expanded its settlements, which are considered illegal under international law. These actions undermine the territorial integrity and viability of a future Palestinian state. Military Actions: Israel has conducted military operations in Gaza and the West Bank, resulting in civilian casualties and infrastructure damage. While Israel often cites security concerns, the scale and intensity of these operations have raised international concerns about proportionality and adherence to humanitarian law. Resource Control: Israel maintains control over key resources such as water and land in the occupied territories, limiting Palestinian access and development. This control exacerbates economic disparities and impedes the establishment of a viable Palestinian state. Jerusalem Status: The status of Jerusalem remains a contentious issue in negotiations. Israel's annexation of East Jerusalem and its declaration of Jerusalem as its capital have been widely criticized by the international community and undermine efforts to reach a negotiated settlement. Blockades and Restrictions: Israel imposes restrictions on the movement of goods and people in and out of the Gaza Strip, exacerbating humanitarian conditions and hindering economic development. The blockade has been described by human rights organizations as a form of collective punishment against the civilian population.
