  1. I've not claimed any such thing, it's all in your head.
  2. Years ago, when I worked at a Thai university, my two colleague had PhDs in Bilingual Language acquisition. They stressed the importance of my wife(Thai) only speaking Thai to my kids and me only speaking English. This has worked well. One daughter is an international uni, she went to a EP government school. I wouldn't send them to international high schools as in my experience(Bangkok Pattana) the kids had a sense of entitlement and the mixed race ones dismissed their Thai roots. Thai school until M4, then EP, or International to prepare them for foreign unis.
  3. I meant bar girl types. I heard it last week at a golf driving range. The woman was talking to the coach about her husband, they both used the pronoun 'it', which is extremely rude unless with close friends, similat to close UK friends call each other a 'c*nt'.
  4. Many farang in Thailand have a need to be loved. I'm really surprised there is not Sex and Love Addicts Anonymous meetings in places like Pattaya.
  5. Of course, there are other things needed like passing a Thai culture test. I was just saying that as someone said I bought it, this is the fee.
  6. Pronouns are very important. If you learn Thai, you can spot what Thais use to refer to farang if they think they can't hear or can't understand. I have often heard bar girl types use 'mun'(the pronoun 'it') when talking about their b/f and even husband!
  7. One a doctor waied me first. he had been my student and uni. Thais place importance on who wais first, as different langauge(pronouns) are used to higher and lower people.
  8. Farang are not bottom rung of social ladder. We don't get on it.
  9. Always wise to wai a doctor. You life could be at risk.
  10. I have that guy on ignore, can't remember why but probably sill posts like that. I paid 5,500 baht to get my Thai ID.
  11. You are right, almost all the world, bar Israelis and people with religious ties to Israel. I don't feel sorry for her, she has no integrity.
  12. But living in Pattaya you can learn a lot about Thai culture
  13. I've no idea who you are. Are you calling me a liar? What have I made up? Maybe you know more about Thai culture than I do. I think you are trying to say that. If so, I'd love to hear your take on what I wrote rather than a personal attack. Quite amusing really that a retired Pattaya ''person'' is telling a Thai he doesn't know about Thai culture.
  14. Indeed, in the grand theatre of human society, the quiet creators toil away, their brilliance obscured by the bombast of the destroyers who, in their destructive dance, garner the limelight and alas, sometimes even applause. But fear not, for in the kingdom of disdain, the discerning reign supreme, armed with wit, intelligence, and a dash of good humor to navigate the absurdities of our world.
  15. Rather the owner than me. Ban these stupid, killer dogs, ugly too.
  16. Unbelievable, no wonder the Israelis with dead friends and relatives are mad with the government. One has to wonder why they let this attack happen. I will keep my many thoughts to myself ....
  17. It's not asking for much. The occupation of the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, has been under Israeli military occupation since 1967, following the Six-Day War. Israel's occupation of the West Bank is probably illegal under international law. HOW DO ISRAEL GET AWAY WITH ALL THESE CRIMES? Hopefully justice will be done soon and the illegal Israelis will get out. https://www.cbsnews.com/newyork/news/un-icj-considers-legality-of-israels-occupation-of-west-bank/
  18. When I worked at a university, I taught Thai culture to foreign school teachers. I also taught Thai history and civics for years. You know nothing about Japan's economy. I talk to Japanese daily. Japan has an aging population, which puts pressure on its pension system and healthcare services. Japan has struggled with deflation for many years, which has led to various economic policies aimed at combating it, including unconventional monetary policies by the Bank of Japan. Economic Reforms: The Japanese government has been pushing for economic reforms to spur growth, improve competitiveness, and increase labor force participation.
  19. This is reduced, from about 6k to 3k, any good?
  20. Above reduced to 2998. Homepro.
  21. I quit smoking 10 years ago 🙂 Never thought about incense being bad for lungs . Thanks .
  22. Oh, so the dirty air outside doesn't come in, therefore I can use an old A/c with an air purifier? I have emphysema(mild) and need to start changing a few things in the air.
  23. I never see Thais blow their noses on a bit of cloth and keep it on their person all day.
