Nest of Vipers -
Ok, so yesterday I went Phuket Old Town to big Kasikorn Bank (this branch opens 08.30) My 800k baht is in a 12 mth Fixed deposit account, I dropped 2K in Monday (knowing it takes 24hrs to update on the system for deposit at kasikorn) I also dropped 2k in yesterday - (I wanted to see what it would show when they generated the statement) I then went to the other desk to get my Letter & statement & copies of Account book info page & statement page. Went over to Immigration and as OP room 103 had papers checked, waited about 10mins, called to IO, she went through my application, asked is this deposit account? I said yes... she ticked off a few things, asked would I like to have re-entry permit processed at same time by them (Single for 1500B) I said no thank you, then gave me a card said come pick up tomorrow at 2pm. I was way-laid so attended Immigration at 14.00hrs was not many in room 103 and was a nice sunny day. I shall take OPs advise collect shortly & do my own re-entry permit today. Thanks again OP for making my first extension easy.

RIP to the guy who passed, was on a holiday with his wife to Australia. there for the grace of god we all go, but yes when not needing the Dunnie or exercising to help prevent DVT, is a good practice to keep your seatbelt on as Cpts & XOs always advise over intercom at start of flight, good to see Swampy appeared to handle it well -

Over 19,000 fire extinguishers in Bangkok need to be replaced
Lokie replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
Ditto, worked in UK Rail Industry 30+ years delivered Fire Safety Training, same as above all extinguishers labelled up dated of test/Inspection - & who by (our own or outside Co) with a Seal tag intact. We had our own Service Centre to Test/Re-fill/Re-Cert and yes old out of date ones some we would use for Demo/Practical traning. Dry Powder always give a Good shake before use lol... -
Don Mueang airport’s escalator accident not caused by poor maintenance
Lokie replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Does appear the suitcase wheels got caught up and damaged the Travellator End Guard Combs causing a failure of the end step support bolt, the poor lady's foot/leg then being fed into the mechanism. As someone mentioned luggage/cases should be behind the user on Travellators in case of any issues Re catching/getting caught up which could occur with any moving parts what-ever safe guards are in place. People ultimately need to take care of themselves when using anything, things like using mobile phones, hand held gadgets, ear buds/head phones etc are all Risk raisers. AOT not at fault IMO, but have said they will assist the lady (I am not saying she was on a phone or anthing else just pointing out what lots of people do in everyday life that strikes me as stupid) -
Wow is this still doing the rounds... Who cares? Wear what you want, how you want, when you want - its LOS No one really gives a Hoot and thats great

Of course hooker is an Americanism for a Prostitute, apparently named after one 'General Hooker' in the American Civil War, who could always be found enjoying himself in 'Houses of ill-repute' Cricket - As an Englishman I never got it? still don't, as said: Paint, Dry, Boring...

Phuket Tourism Sees Rebound Amid Influx of Foreign Visitors
Lokie replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
I live in Patong, all the Russians who were living near me (and they were all pleasant nice people BTW) have all just disappeared about six or seven weeks ago. There was about five couples and two single lads all in the 21-35 age group over a fortnight they all slipped away...? I know a couple of the lads not long before this had done a border bounce down to Satun so they must have had valid stay?? IMO there is no way it is as busy as it was two months ago - Bangla etc/ West Coast beaches are deffo not as busy so dont know where all this influx are going Tat? 555 -
If he has done as reported then he is a Bell End however its very rare someone starts smashing windows and or doors of houses at random - more to this story than meets the eye me 'thinks Having as a 'Brit' spent many a good time (November Carnival anyone?) in Benny can safely report have never seen anyone smashing up houses etc... just a good time normally involving friendly Yorkshire ladies (what happens in Benny -Stays in Benny pmsl) but anyroad lets not let that get in the way of a good bit of Brit Bashing... Rule Britannia!! 555

Foreign Man Shot in a Car in Phuket, Suspect Flees
Lokie replied to snoop1130's topic in Phuket News
Ditto; reports said gunman pulled up along side - so why walk around to shoot through Windshield? Would of thought easier to shoot through drivers side window (closer range more chance of hitting target) And Kazak guy they've collared on his way out looks a bigger frame than the dude who was on the bike in CCTV still. Well there goes the neighbourhood... Bang Tou'ski -
