From time to time when one of my limey friends was rattling on I would ask them "How many major newspapers this very day in England have an article about the United States above the fold"? The answer is damn near every one. How many newspapers in the US have an article about England anywhere on the front page? Nary a one.

Who would want to cook in a barrel with peeling paint on the inside? Keep your chickens mate. Not for me. -

I love his stuff and have for a very long time. -
This must be a new thing as I lived for 15 years in Thailand and withdrew money through an ATM in Thailand twice a month with my Schwab debt card and nary a word was ever said. I used a PO Box as my mailing address the entire time. I had both a brokerage account and a checking account and it was not an international account.

The caddies that work the golf course certainly are not shy and, indeed, very willing! -
All of you ATM fees are refunded so no worries there . . . I withdraw from a Thai ATM machine 20,000Bt every two weeks (even when the US$ exchange rate was much lower than it is now) and it was a smooth transaction every time. I never had the need to try to pull more than that so I couldn't tell you about $1,000 USD or more.

It always tickles me (and warms my heart) when people go OFF when the word "soccer" is used. Usually it is the limey crew who get a stick up their rectum even though the word originated in England! It is just a name. Their car has a wind screen and a boot. My car has a wind shield and a trunk. They go on holiday. I go on vacation. We are still talking about the same thing but somehow they must prefer that stick.

I am not buying anything right now and have no intention to do so in a falling market. This is no time to fight the tape. WHEN that time does come I'll be looking at the regional banks (USA) whose share price has fallen and offer some really good dividends. At my age that is much the best as far as I am concerned. I'll have those divvy's reinvested and not do a lot of thinking along the way. Once again, at my age that is ALSO much the best!

Video: No injuries but so close to potential death for many!

I would hardly call that "extraordinary" video. It looks just like regular everyday video to me. -
Thai men? I just find them to be the most uninteresting creatures . . .

What items would you bring in your luggage from USA?
bluebluewater replied to Elkski's topic in Thailand Travel Forum
Depending on the airline you only get 25Kg per person in checked bags and everything you might need here is already here. If you feel you MUST take a bunch of food stuffs back then you are going to have to declare it and US Customs is going to thoroughly exam all of it and anything else in your bags. Good luck! -
It may be ONLY a caterpillar but I have never seen that kind before. I too, would be curious . . . .

Though not directed at me . . . " if i recall you're a bit of a stallion, right? ". Yes, I am. You are right. Not just a "bit" but the full-blown thing. A wild untamed thing. Never enough. " Ride me BIG. " That's my creedo.

I had a friend who got bit by a cat in Hua Hin and ended up flying back to England to get the treatment he needed and save the leg!
