Whenever I read through threads like this, with all the hoops to jump through, it kinda confirms that although I would like to I will never make it back to Thailand. Shame that - 15 years I was there, LOTS of good friends, fluent in the language (Issan as well), and never to be seen again. We'll see . . . .

I've played golf for some 50 years. In my prime I had a handicap of 5 or less and yet no hole in one. Indeed, I have only been, what I would call "close", on a couple of occasions. Alas, there never will be an ace for me as my hands and wrists don't allow me to play anymore. 'Tis a cruel world . . . .

The OP would now be the third American that I have heard of wanting to attend a funeral back in the States. The other two I knew personally. They too were hoping for a "quick return". It was not to be and they were both travel and Thailand savvy. FAR too many hoops to jump through as noted above and WAY too much money to spend and it certainly was NOT going to be a quick return no matter what they did. They both opted not to even try. It's a shame but I would not even try either . . .

Double Vaxxed And Caught Covid: Anyone Else?
bluebluewater replied to BKKBike09's topic in Health and Medicine
I have known three people (not in Thailand) who fall under the category of DVBCC. All three have said " you don't want this". One had a bit of an easier time, the other two were bad sick. Even a couple of months later they still have effects of the virus pop up on them. You know what a mild case is not a days in hospital talk? It's when you don't need to go to the hospital. Really . . . You can have a temp of 104 and the trots and the bed sheets are wet for days, brain fog, etc., and that is now considered a mild case. -

There is a fellow who is a friend of mine (played golf, drink some beer) whom when he comes into the bar that we both go to from time to time I at that time get up and check bin. He watches Fox news all the time so guess what he is going to want to talk about as soon as he walks in? Others have asked him to give it a rest as well but he ain't having it. I'm not interested in that <deleted> but it seems to be the only thing on his mind. Shame that . . . .

Good Gosh - have someone stick it into a padded envelope and send it USPS registered mail. It's not expensive at all. Sorted. -
You are Not going to believe what just happened

Why would I not believe this? I would call it another day in Thailand . . . -
Legal for employer to force workers to vaccinate?
bluebluewater replied to Trujillo's topic in Chiang Mai
At the very least she needs a spanking . . . . -
If she goes back to Thailand (and she will) and the boys go with her (and they will) you will indeed be very lucky if you see them again. Certainly not anything like on a regular basis unless you are also in Thailand and even that would be doubtful. Good luck . . .

Fate of my 800,000 baht deposited for Ret Ext.
bluebluewater replied to soleddy's topic in Family and Children
Your UK will won't carry a lot of weight here in Thailand. Have a will drawn up here in Thailand (in Thai language and translated in English of course) that concerns itself with only your money that is deposited here in Thailand.- 74 replies

Thailand to start human trials on COVID-19 shots via nasal spray
bluebluewater replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Is any other country in the world chasing a nasal spray type of vaccine? I'm unaware of it if so. Pills are possibility and there are labs looking into that end. Nasal spay seems a bit out there.
