Chinese keyboard warriors taking the mick out of Putin after Ukraine drone attack on bombers Users on platforms like Guancha labelled Russia a “weak empire” and called its military outdated. One commenter jeered, “They only care about food,” while another joked about reclaiming land lost to Russia in the 19th century. Some users invoked the Treaty of Aigun (1858), which saw Russia seize massive territory from China, including Vladivostok. “We’ll be ready to take back what’s ours,” one comment read ominously. A Russian commander has publicly urged Vladimir Putin to put an end to the war in Ukraine, which has now dragged on for over three years. The commander, reportedly serving in a unit near the city of Sudzha in Russia’s Kursk region, has now broken ranks by calling on the Kremlin to halt hostilities. In a recent interview with prominent war blogger Maxim Kalashnikov, the commander was asked what he would do to win the war in Ukraine. His response was blunt: "I would stop the war altogether.'' Lindsey, etc threatening to arm the unwilling Donald: RBC-Ukraine has already reported that the US Senate is ready to approve a bill on tough sanctions against Russia if the Russian dictator Vladimir Putin does not demonstrate a desire for peace. The sanctions will take effect if Russia refuses to enter into good-faith negotiations for sustainable peace with Ukraine or attempts to undermine Ukrainian sovereignty after reaching a peace agreement, including through new military aggression. Additionally, the law imposes a 500% tariff on imports of goods from countries that continue to purchaseRussian oil, gas, uranium, and other resources. The foolishness of Trump posting in the middle of the night: In the wee hours Wednesday, the president fired off a series of posts and, in one, he complained, "I like President XI of China, always have, and always will, but he is VERY TOUGH, AND EXTREMELY HARD TO MAKE A DEAL WITH!!!" According to MSNBC's Zeshann Aleem, Trump's late-night complaining is the type of "emotional" response is indicative that he is playing a losing hand, he knows it and he's preparing his supporters for a bad ending. According to the analyst, Trump's "compulsive" late-night admission indicates a state of mind that China will factor into their end of the negotiations, giving them an upper hand. The non-partisan office that scores the cost of legislation on Capitol Hill warned that more than 10.9 million people could lose their health coverage if President Donald Trump’s proposed “One Big, Beautiful Bill” act passes. Of that number, 7.8 million people would lose their Medicaid coverage. The Congressional Budget Office, the non-partisan office that evaluates the effects of bills being debated, released its comprehensive report on the overall impacts of the legislation, which the House of Representatives passed late last month. Recent trip to UK with Qatar air- A very sad, heartbreaking visit.

I don't know why nearly every crackhead, drunkard and beggar on the UK streets is a white UK citizen. I've seen a couple of blacks of West Indian origin out of their heads but they don't usually beg. Never seen an Asian beg. -
More pain for your average Joe: The Independent reports U.S. electric bills may be rising faster than ever under a slate of new White House policies. Four Republican Senators warned in an April letter that rising demand for energy is making it “imperative that any modifications to the tax code avoid worsening the economic pressures that American households and businesses already face.” Their message, which was an appeal to President Donald Trump to maintain Biden-era energy credits, argued that the repeal of energy credits “that provide a direct passthrough benefit to ratepayers, would translate into immediate utility bill increases, placing additional strain on hardworking Americans.” Average energy bill could rise $400 as Trump budget axes electricity subsidies

His wife is Dr Alaa al-Najjar, a respected paediatrician at the Nasser medical complex. She had gone to work to care for injured babies at the hospital when an Israeli strike destroyed her home, leaving one son and her husband initially as survivors. It seems both were committed health workers, presumably taking turns to look after the children.

Politics Thaksin Wants Pheu Thai Back in Control of Interior Ministry

An awful lot, especially local admins in the run up to an election. I can't believe Bhumjaithai will accept losing the ministry. Better to go into into opposition if that happens. -
Sudan is indeed a tragedy with the UAE supporting northern Sudanese Arabs in their oppression and killing of southern black Africans. The UAE wants food that Sudan can supply. But this thread is about Gaza. I recommend you start a thread about Sudan but sadly not many posters will reply. Indeed one poster replied ' Who gives a fart about Sudan?' when I mentioned the cuts in USAID would lead to deaths in Africa.

Nothing to do with Hamas. It may surprise you that there are hundreds of thousands of women and children, and no doubt many men too, who have nothing to do with Hamas yet they have been subject to continuous bombing and now a food blockade by Israel for two months which has led to malnutrition and starvation. The UN needs to go in to police Gaza. The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation can only offer a trickle of food in the deep south (an attempt perhaps to corral all the Palestinians towards the Egyptian border), the old, young, infirm, pregnant women cannot possibly walk the many miles they have to go to get to the GHF distribution points. No surprise that the President of the International Committee of the Red Cross said Gaza has become worse than hell on earth.

Poor President Trump. Utterly failed to persuade Putin to stop the war despite his silly boast. Claimed Zelensky had no cards but in just a few weeks he found the Ukrainian wizard playing bridge. Tried to scare the world with tariffs but to little avail. All his allies despise him, Donald no mates Trump, his enemies just think he's an idiot. And he comes across as that, writing in block capitals on his Truth Social page. He's like a child shouting, but no one's listening, they know he's full of nonsense. All sound and fury, signifying nothing.

President Donald Trump is currently finding himself between a rock and a hard place after having spent years promoting his relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which his Make America Great Again (MAGA) base embraced, and now finding he can't deal with the Russian strongman as he tries to get a peace deal worked out over the Ukraine invasion. Appearing on MSNBC's "Way Too Early" Wednesday morning, Elise Labott, the Edward R. Murrow Press Fellow at the Council in Foreign Relations, claimed Trump's desire to win a Nobel Peace Prize is at loggerheads with a substantial number of his followers who want him to stick with Putin. Labott pointed out, "Now he's starting to say President Putin is crazy, President Putin is ruining Russia, he's ruining the world, so, you know, Steve Bannon and that whole MAGA crowd, Tucker Carlson, they're really, you know, coming to rubs here and I think this is a very interesting case." Dr. Hamdi al-Najjar, a 40-year-old Palestinian doctor, died Saturday from injuries sustained in an Israeli airstrike that killed nine of his ten children on May 23 in Khan Younis. The practitioner, who ran a private medical center with his wife Dr. Alaa al-Najjar, had been seriously injured to the brain, lungs and internal organs. Only his wife and their 11-year-old son Adam, still hospitalized, survive this family tragedy that illustrates the human cost of the conflict in Gaza. Kremlin propagandist Vladimir Solovyov called for the execution of the conscript who recorded the drone attack on a Russian airbase. His words provoked outrage among Russian war bloggers. "Can we execute him, this conscript? Just take this scum and shoot him in front of everyone like a traitor to the homeland," declared Vladimir Solovyov on his programme, broadcast on Rossiya1. The young soldier filmed not only his face but also the aftermath of the Ukrainian drone attack on the airbase, where several burning machines were visible. Kremlin's call for conscript execution sparks blogger backlash How many villas did Solovyov have in Italy? Two in his name, two in his mother's , and another partly owned. Yes, he's a true patriot.

The UN human rights office said on Tuesday the impediment of access to food and relief for civilians in Gaza may constitute a war crime, describing attacks on civilians trying to access food as unconscionable. “For a third day running, people were killed around an aid distribution site run by the ‘Gaza Humanitarian Foundation’. This morning, we have received information that dozens more people were killed and injured,” Reuters reports the spokesperson for the UN high commissioner for Human Rights, Jeremy Laurence, told the media in Geneva. According to Reuters, American experts found unauthorised communication components in inverters and batteries of Chinese origin. These devices, which are normally used to connect solar and wind power to the electricity grid, were found in some cases to possess secret components that were not listed in the official documentation. As a result, firewalls could be bypassed and devices could be remotely disabled or manipulated, this could happen on a large scale as China is a global leader in the market for inverters, batteries, and solar panels, for example in Europe, it is estimated that more than 200 gigawatts of solar capacity – equivalent to 200 nuclear power stations – depend on Chinese inverters. At least 27 Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded by Israeli fire near a food distribution site in the southern Gaza Strip on Tuesday, local health authorities said. It is the third consecutive day of similar incidents as Israel attempts to impose a new aid distribution regime on the Gaza Strip, which it has been blockading for weeks. The Israeli military said its forces had opened fire on a group of individuals who had left designated access routes near the distribution centre in Rafah. According to a statement from the 65th Mechanized Brigade’s ‘Ronin’ unit, drone operators destroyed five Russian BTR-82 armoured personnel carriers stationed in an open hangar roughly 35 kilometres (27 miles) behind the frontlines. Drone operators deployed ten first-person view strike (FPV) drones at long range, which the Ukrainian military news website Militarnyi noted prevented Russian forces from moving their equipment before Ukrainian forces could target and attack them. Militarnyi suggested it was “highly probable that strikes at this distance were enabled by the use of a mothership drone,” which could have allowed for standard attack drones to be transported to the attack area while the mothership relayed radio communications to Ukrainian operators. Ukrainian forces scored another big victory deep behind Russian lines -
With fears over the health of the US economy mounting, sterling rose as much as 0.7 per cent to $1.3557, while investors seeking safety pushed gold back towards its recent all-time high of $3,500 an ounce. The dollar has fallen 9 per cent against a basket of major currencies this year and analysts at Morgan Stanley are predicting a further 9 per cent drop over the next 12 months. That could push sterling – just below last month’s three-year high of $1.3593 – back towards $1.50. Pound races towards three-year high against the dollar as Trump's trade war sends the greenback tumbling A double win for Trump surely. A declining dollar to boost US exports and extra costs on Donald's tariffs for the American consumer to shoulder. That'll put them off buying any foreign goods. Make America great again, pay more!
