So why not come here just for the cold months like many do or should? Just got my monthly electric bill from my house near freezing Boston $9 for the month. Gas which is for heat and hot water and stove $35 for the month. I have all lights etc off and heat set to 54F/12C Go back the last week of April and enjoy the beautiful late spring and Summer!

I wasn't born yet in 1963 but how is farming fun/ not boring? Why are there so few farmers left in the west? How do you even do it when elderly? I'm just sitting here at Hua Hin Immigration waiting for a simple 30 day extension of my 60 day visa and have never seen so many elderly in one location in Thailand ever! Eighty percent of them seem incapable to do much at all. I'm wondering if living here long term is really healthy. I'm thinking the 6 ish month here and 6 ish month in the West is perhaps really living the life! I've tried it before corona and doing it again this year. There just seems to be a lot of bored people here. How or why people like the guy next to me do this every 90 days is mind boggling. It seems no one does this on line. If they did it I'd out of here already. The METV seems to be a great route if you like to be out of Thailand a few months a year with way less hassles.

The article makes me feel the anticipated mask increase is because the Chinese tourists will be needing more after they arrive. What I have clearly observed over the last three days that a huge majority ( 95%) of them are NOT wearing masks around Bangkok. The Petchburi Rd/ Night market / Baioke tower area is filled with mostly young Chinese all maskless. Maybe they anticipate an increase in Thais wanting more. Who knows. These masks I see on Thais lately are looking mighty loose and often dirty. It just seems like a 1/2 as'd attempt of an old habit.

Buying a ticket that you know you will get a refund for because you never intended to actually use it is deceptive. Also the airlines have already spent your money and now they have to return it and it will affect their budget and then prices go up. You are very dishonest and act inappropriately by doing this.

I've been to Turkey maybe 15 times in about 14 years and never had to do this. I'm not Turkish. Last time Two months ago.

Why would you need your physical credit card for? It's easily set up on your phone or you can remember the number, expiration date and 3/4 digit code on the back. Or just keep it somewhere. I think they completely didn't believe your story. A trip to Vietnam, if lying, should have been 31+ days out. Also since you spoke to quite a lot of people maybe someone remembered you wanting to come back right away. It's an interesting story but perhaps someone found you annoying or red flags went up somewhere. Even a full 24 hours + in poipet May have been a good choice as well. Every single person said stay a day/ night but going back in the morning was a bad move.

How many do you need? Are you overweight? Can you swim? Wow.

That is actually very strange. The ones that are trying it are in their 20's perhaps? Do they know if their " cookies" are strong or not? Did they smoke cigarettes before joints? Usually people who never did it before don't jump into it.

I have read about Poipet as well as other readers have. What I have NEVER seen posted are the reasons this is? What is the benefit to refuse entry more than other border entries? What is their benefit to be difficult? I have just never seen any explanation of this on the forum ever. Why would she send him away but not register it? I don't get it. Thanks

So where is this list? That was the question asked. Who EXACTLY would be checking this and where? As I mentioned in another thread people enter and then continue to countries that are not their own, just to add to confusion. Also people have spend maybe just a day or two in the country they are entering from. You can buy a throw away ticket to anywhere as well. This insurance requirement has to be clearly explained or no airline person or anyone in Thailand can enforce it. No one should have to wear a mask ( again ) on a plane to enter Thailand. I can see entire flights of people refusing to do this incredibly stupid unscientific thing.

What were your other times seeing this? Many of us travel extensively in Thailand and never see what you claim. Do you follow all news threads? You probably do actually ????

It really doesn't happen to this extent that much. Probably every SINGLE occurrence is a thread here. Who came here in the 90's, and early 2000's or before and took out travel insurance? It's really not that common. Insurance for motorbikes is even more rare and usually you aren't covered completely even though you think so. Things happen. Especially to younger people. Now we have go fund me. He's not an imbecile! That's over reacting.

They def have started arriving at Christmas/ New Year week from Shanghai. Met many of them. The lockdown stories are insane.

Their ratings would soar probably if they stopped their " lists" trying to control where people may go with absolutely no credibility to do so AND just finally do that epic documentary on the absolutely heinous to ridiculous amounts of scandals within their own employees and hosts and producers. It could easily be 8 parts by now. Embarrassing ???? to say the LEAST.

It could be the " countdown events including shopping" that have turned this all around.

I think for many stores that situation is not that common but happens. Without doubt many stores have just had it with daily shoplifting of often hundreds of dollars of merchandise and even if the police catch them there is no bail and no time served. I mean that situation happens so much and would rarely hit the news until the stores actually do close. My nephew is a cop in Boston and I know several other officers there. It's the truth.
