UK Thai embassy issues warning amid anti-immigration protests
doctormann replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Precisely. Islamophobia is the irrational fear of Islam. I don't see anything irrational in being deeply concerned about the Islamic takeover of what is, fundamentally, a Christian nation. -
I've tolerated this for far too long. There is a limit you know.

OK, having got really p*ssed off with the ever more annoying 'subscribe to newsletter' pop-up, I capitulated and signed up for the thing. Guess what - I'm still getting the pop-up! This is getting really annoying now to the point where i"m about to give up on this forum. Please fix this.

Need to be 15 to legally ride a motorcycle of up to 100cc capacity. You would need to be 18 to legally ride a PCX. Prosecute the parents!

I don't think that's the problem - ASEANNOW cookies are not deleted. I do use 'Cookie AutoDelete' but domains ASEANNOW and *ASEANNOW are whitelisted so all cookies are retained, even on browser closure.

I keep getting the 'subscribe to our newsletter' pop-up appearing far too often. I don't want to subscribe so why can't I opt out of this permanently? It's annoying as I have to cancel it every time and then refresh the page that i was trying to access.

Voting in UK election by post impossible?
doctormann replied to Hamus Yaigh's topic in UK & Europe Topics and Events
The last time that I tried a postal vote was for Brexit. The papers arrived ONE DAY before the time limit for the return. No chance, even using EMS or a courier service. Complete waste of time. -
Online Reporting 90 Days
doctormann replied to glegolo18's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
Yes. This morning I got the usual reminder to submit a new notification so, as usual, I responded to the request. I normally use Firefox for this purpose. Today, I went through the usual procedure but when I got to the 'submit' stage nothing happened. I tried a few times, with the same result. So, I then tried using Brave and this worked OK. Current status is 'Pending'. My reporting office is Chonburi, if this is relevant. -
OK, thanks. I'll try that.

I'm looking to upgrade my NT fibre connection. Currently on 200/200 but a faster connection is available for the same price, or even less, so why not change? It looks as though the upgrade request can be done on line but one thing is stopping me from proceeding with it. The request form is simple enough, except that it requires attachment of the 'modem/ONU' file. I have no idea what this is or where I can find it. The only paperwork that I have that is specific to the ZTX601 modem is the paper user guide. No mention of the ONU file in there. Any ideas before I phone 1888 next week?

What we really need is a WTF emoji! -
Cookies are enabled. i am using Brave though and this does block some things. Not a big issue anyway as the pop-up is easily dismissed - just a bit annoying. There should really be a 'no thank you' option, which the system then remembers.

I'm still getting this extremely annoying pop-up!

Quite right. There's a thing called the 11-year solar cycle and we may be presently approaching the solar maximum. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_cycle

Thanks for that. Now, how about letting us delete old notifications?

Fully Electric Songthaews to be Trialled in Pattaya

OMG! First prize in the ugly truck competition! -
Try flying on the internal Chinese airlines. On landing, as soon as the wheels touch the runway the passengers are up and out of their seats, grabbing their stuff from the overhead lockers. Once at the gate they all make a dash for the toilets. I was told by a 'reputable' authority that they are reluctant to use the on-board toilets as there is a dragon hiding in there. Hence, on landing they are all bursting to go to the loo. Quite funny to see but not at all safe. The airline staff seem not to give a hoot.

Just 'retired' our Mitsubishi Prezio after about 15 years. Door seals were shot and the carcass was starting to rust out in its nether regions. Not worth fixing so replaced with a TCL four-door inverter. I hope that this wasn't a mistake, being a Chinese make, but TCL seem to have a reasonable reputation. Cost was around 12000 Baht but we got it a bit cheap through a contact in the hotel trade. Seems fine so far but time will tell.

Dr. Oliver's nurses will use H2O2 and warm water to irrigate your ears and suck out the wax. I was there a few months ago as I was having problems with both ears. An amazing amount of cr*p came out and my hearing was restored to normal. I forget what the cost was but it wasn't at all expensive. No need for an appointment and wasn't at all busy when I was there.
