Unless the staff member at the telco shop rearranged your fist, middle, and last name, so they don't match. Oh well, another trip to the telco shop to check it out, and then another trip back to the telco shop 2 days later to confirm the information the staff from 2 days before gave you was accurate. TiT.

krungsri 1.5% only gain account?
KhunHeineken replied to proton's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
That's exactly why I don't even have the 800k baht in Thailand. The 800k baht invested in my home country, at over 5%, earns way more than the cost of the agent every year, and with the bonus I don't have to deal with immigration. The 800k baht is nothing more than a donation to a Thai bank. I continue to laugh at expats saying their extension only costs them 1,900 baht. They don't factor in the loss of interest. -
Record Invalid Ballots and 'No Votes' in Thai Elections

Exactly. Thailand can't be seen to have another military coup so soon, as that's not good for an already failing Thai economy. The answer is to get rid of the political parties through the corrupt court system. Thailand still looks like a democracy on the world stage, and with an independent judicial system, but nothing could be further from the truth. Thailand is an unstable, 3rd World Country. -

I go into my Thai banks and Thai telco every time I have a new passport. As another member said, say a staff member of the telco rearranged my first name, middle name, and surname, I'll have some grief. TiT. Kasikorn is starting to give me the sh*ts. -

Chinese Embassy Condemns Thai Human Rights Commissioner's Remarks

There's always collateral damage when building an empire, and that's exactly what China has been doing. I'm not saying it's right, but it's interesting how in history when western countries did the same, it was fine, but when China does it in the present, it's terrible. There's a new empire coming to the world. Get used to it, or prepare for World War 3, because that's the only thing that can stop China. -

Who would be supplying the drugs? So, the tax payer picks up the bill for this. Well, yeah, obviously. Your point is not lost on me, but it goes way beyond simple "legalization." Simply legalizing drugs still means illegal importations, and rich drug dealers. Addicts would have to be registered, and given drugs by a government's health department for your plan to work. How would a politician possibly "sell" this to the voters, given that the people taking the drugs may be on welfare, and never worked a day in their life, and the tax payer is paying for them to be high every day? -

Obviously, you have no idea how many companies the guy owns. Its called "diversification." If one of his companies "goes under" the reason that company went under means one of his other companies booms. The guy is big enough to manipulate stock markets. Crypto represents only one part of his asset base. You mentioned SpaceX. Here's an example of his diversification. He provides satellite internet in Australia, and elsewhere, through Starlink, a subsidiary of SpaceX. https://www.starlink.com -

If the UK deported all the illegal immigrants, who will do the jobs Brit's refuse to do? Americans may soon be asking themselves the same question. The saying, "they are taking our jobs" only comes from people who are on benefits, who have never worked a day in their life. -
It's not just me putting the visa "down." The stats show it was not so popular. You even said that yourself. Many people, including myself, qualified, but didn't go for it. I could have that visa if I wanted it. I stuck with the devil I know. I repeat, I have yet to meet any foreigners admit to making a bad decision here and losing.

Which can be purchased through an agent by someone on a 30 day visa exemption stamp. Yet, many view it as "permanent." It's those people who disagree that a retirement visa / extension is nothing more than a 12 month tourist visa. You are also missing the point. Here's an example. Say an individual has absolutely no interest in living in Thailand full time, but likes to holiday to Thailand a few times a year. On his 30 day visa exemption stamp, he can get a sim card, open a bank account, buy a motorcycle, get a Thai drivers license, buy a condo, sign a lease etc etc. I have conceded, in multiple posts, a retirement visa / extension does give an individual the ability to live in Thailand without leaving Thailand. However, can you tell something else that someone on a 30 day visa exemption stamp CAN NOT do in relation to setting up full time living in Thailand, without actually living in Thailand full time? This is the point I am making.
