  1. In Europe they now talk about 85 percent, and as that is of the whole population they need young people down to 12 year gets vaccinated.
  2. You kindly answered my comment with a question, so I replied...????
  3. Sometimes I wonder about which brand of calculators, the tourists authorities use...????
  4. I would have thought that planting two terror-bombs would be a longer sentence...????
  5. I did, and you asked question about other job positions than the news article mentions. What I'm reacting to is the opening post article about a frontline nurse. The society needs them. and all other persons in the health frontline. If the people you mentions are also performing duties in health frontline, then they are also needed...????
  6. Lots of opticians with free test, and a wide selection of both frames and lenses, each ranging from less than a few thousand baht and up (after discount, which seems to be available for everybody). I use Top Charoen, Maenam branch.
  7. You can get, and follow, an update of the Covid-situation in this thread... The last know new case on Phangan was to my knowledge recorded the 27th July, above link is to last status of 28th July.
  8. I think you are misunderstanding me, I say if the demonstrants act peacefully, no rubber bullets will be used.
  9. Water canons were not used before October 16th last year, by that time demonstrations were not allowed due to emergency decree, i.e. assembly of more than four people. There water cannons were used for the first time, which the police was criticized for, as the demonstrants seek cover for heavy monsoon rain instead of dissolve the assembly. It was rather from November with demonstrations in front of the new parliament building that the situation began to escalate from both sides. A peaceful demonstration is far more powerful than street fighting, and the latter risk a huge dog to wake up; it would be preferred to keep it sleeping.
  10. Personally, I will be "feel" Okay as I need frontline medical workers, if I get sick...???? Edit/addition: And little more plain statistics, a vaccinated frontline medical worker might save more lives from one booster jab, instead of saving only one person getting a first jab.
  11. My source is from 7th June in a newspaper, which I'm not allowed to mention, quote directly or link to in this forum, but it states that both 10 million doses Moderne vaccine - for Private Hospitals, to be delivered in three lots late this year, and next year (2022) - and 20 million doses Pfizer, and 5 million doses J&J have been ordered, not specifying a delivery date for the last two brands...????
  12. I'm both proud of my home country's medal-harvest, and also proud that the nation I reside in got some...????
  13. I got an AZ jab a while ago - my first, and I'm happy and satisfied with that - it was very well administered and kind staff. However, before I reached that far there were some confusing appointment systems - mainly due to some people, who not eligible for vaccination under the circumstances, tried to squeeze themselves in - but then a special designed app appeared for the purpose, and everything went fast and smooth. I'm thankful to the Thai nation for also taking care of an alien like me...????????
  14. There are to my knowledge no rubber bullets used against peaceful protesters.
  15. To my knowledge you need IDP, but they might not ask for it. If insurance covers without IDP is another matter. If you stay for more than 90-days you'll need a Thai Driver's License, and here is IDP also mentioned, but might not be asked for - I showed an IDP when I got my Thai license, they might even had a photocopy (cannot remember, they always get so many signed photocopies)...????
  16. Thailand has 5 million J&J doses on order for later arrival. J&J is a vector-based vaccine, just like AZ, so similar side effects have been observed - some countries have banned both AZ and J&J for same reason - only major difference is that J&J is a one-jab vaccine, and it's also slightly less efficient than AZ, which has an overall efficiency of 70 percent, where J&J for some variants is down to 66 percent. Source link BioSpace "UPDATED Comparing COVID-19 Vaccines: Timelines, Types and Prices" HERE.
  17. Didn't watched anything, country code blocked, and the Thai transmission required subscription. However my home country got 2 gold, 4 silver, and 4 bronze, so I followed little in the news, also that Thailand got medals, two gold I think, well done...????
  18. Depending what method you choose in Wise when transferring money to Thailand, then it will show as FTT i.e. Foreign Telegraphic Transfer) in you Thai bankbook...????
  19. You probably have been particular "lucky". People I know have their company's external accountant, or their law form, to take care of all the paperwork with non-B, and extensions of stay based on work permit. For an up-to-date shareholder list is normally charged 500 baht, same for a "meting report". Administration and paperwork can often be more extensive than in one's home country, but external accountants and law firms are used to the procedure, so let them handle it, it's also cheaper than paying bribe, or using an agent, if you have a good accountant, or lawyer...????
  20. Sounds more like you might be suffering from pollen allergy, you should visit a doctor for a more correct diagnosis...????
  21. 10th August +10 on Samui... An explanation of the increased number of Covid-positive could be that some people, who tested negative right after the Black Bamboo cluster emerged, have been asked to be tested again after two weeks.
  22. Not that complicated. Visit a hospital - preferably hospital, sometimes a clinic won't count - and see a doctor, if you have a health problem, you'll get a certificate.
  23. It's a very sad tragedy with the Swiss lady, but beginning to declare zones not safe for tourists will in my opinion not improve the tourists' trust in Phuket as a safe destination, rather the opposite. Heading for holiday to a place where you are limited in movement due to security - i.e. it can be fatal for you if you by mistake enters wrong zones - might make potential visitors think twice, and consider alternatives, I would. Or will "unsafe zones" risk Phuket to be considered risky, just like the so-called "death island", i.e. Koh Tao, where one murder case, the double-murder of a British couple, triggered a number of suspicious death cases - we might not know the all facts, we don't know if the were accidents or something else, but these cases still generates a lot of speculation and news stories - giving the island a bad reputation and lots of warnings as "not safe for tourists"...????
