Not being a visitor to nightclubs and bars anymore, it is common two people go to a bar and order one alcoholic drink and two straws ?
Only if they are from the Indian sub-continent.

Few people in the modern era are worthy of having quotes attributed to them, because virtually none of them/us have had a unique thought in our entire lives. We merely regurgitate and rephrase the writings and philosophies of the ancients.
The descriptor of "quote" in the philosophical sense should only be attributed to something said or written that is of such deep philosophical meaning that future philosophers spend their lifetimes examining the meaning and interpretations of one sentence.
Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee or similar - doesn't quite fit the criteria.

I do use wise, mainly to bring money into Thailand from Australia but thought maybe <$20 maybe to little an amount for them. Are there minimum transfer values?
No minimum. Well, maybe $1 minimum and the fee will cripple you as a percentage, but USD20 should be about 60 cents commission/charge.

Open a USD account in Wise. Convert or buy the appropriate amount in wise from your domestic currency to USD. Get his bank details and pay him from your USD Wise account.

Obviously Ned Kelly or Dick Turpin reincarnated in a lower form.

A local glass guy has done it actually, and I am seeing the logo on the glass and not super happy with it.
My understanding, having google, is that tempered glass generally has to have it. The manufacturer has to do it. But depending on country, not necessarily for private use. I have read a waiver can be signed for example.
But in Thailand?
The standard answer to any paradox that ends with the question (rhetorical or not) "But in Thailand?" is "up to you".

I wonder how long the poles will survive car accidents?
They're not known for longevity in Thailand.
It's a tossup between getting electrocuted when you press the button or being mowed down by three scooters and a Song-Taeow as you cross.

I refer you to my quotes below. These quotes are the only wisdom you need in today's world.

but when you have the elite making the decisions with little affect on their lives, the poorer the majority become, the more they be used in the futureColditz-19 will technically be here forever and until the end of the universe. Mankind in all his (hers/zers/zim....insert your pronoun of choice to suit your self identified gender) wisdom and modern medical science has only ever eradicated one virus (smallpox) and that was only because the virus was not a zoological virus and shared by animals.
Colditz-19 is a zoological and can never be eradicated with current known science.
But otherwise you are correct - Colditz-19 is the current fear du jour being used by the oligarchs to control us. Climate change wasn't working as well as they'd hoped as a control mechanism so they used the colditz-19 event as a more tangible, immediate and imminent crisis as their weapon of fear.
Meanwhile they're ramping up efforts on climate fear and the new hatred towards energy and the powerhouse of the world's economy. The shift away from colditz-19 fear to a heightened climate fear and energy outrage will be almost seamless.
Coldita-19 is the ultimate weapon of Pavlovian "conditioning". The "conditioned" normies that are now so fearful of colditz-19 will be easily convinced to adopt the climate fear mantra.
Unfortunately the world is run by those that know how gullible and fearful the Pareto's 80% of the population are. Always have and always will.

Are you discussing the buttons at the park or the buttons on Pattaya pedestrian crossings?

If you breathe and leave your abode today you will be exposed to Colditz-19 at every location you visit.
Colditz-19 "science" has the same basic logic ascribed to hunters of witches, and alchemists in the middle-ages.
id est. None.

If these buttons work as well as the pedestrian "crossing" buttons in Pattaya, it should all go swimmingly.

"The Church" was the second oldest form of business ever invented by man. The cave witchdoctor/sharman would rattle bones or read the signs and be highly regarded by the tribe. He didn't hunt or gather, but elicited tithe from the tribe.
Add on a few thousand years and nothing has changed.
At least the oldest profession is a little more upfront and honest.

Jeez, that's 1,428 Baht per bottle.
Johnnie Walker by the litre costs less than that and actually works. And if it doesn't work, you don't care anyway.

As the BIB currently hold the national gambling franchise I can see why he's worried.
He'll get to know that "kicked in the goolies" feeling that former holders of McDonald's and 7/11 franchisees have felt over the last 18 months.
Meanwhile he's got his accountant busily iterating the numbers to see how they can afford to resubmit a better franchise tender assuming TAT forecasts of cash-cow tourists that aren't and won't be coming to Thailand. Pigs, lipstick, and all that.
