never get between a drunkard and his bottle

Drunkard is a very non PC word, even those ingrates the Alcoholics are objecting to its use.

Us Drunks prefer to be described as victims of alcohol overuse. Alcoholics prefer victims of problematic alcohol overuse.

Either way, we are victims and deserve everybody's sympathy - it say's so quite specifically in the "Victim's Guide to the Galaxy" available from every good socialist bookstore.

Reading all the I'll forget it ! Certified documents from embassy,?

This is Thailand Buddy. You have to comprehend Thinglish and take the path of least resistance.  I'll translate:

    1. Copy of your passport. Sign the copy. Take your original with you.

    2. A Cert of Residence  - Get it from the immigration office.  Take evidence of your address (lease etc. even a hotel card and a receipt or something showing your name and address) and a passport photo and your passport and a signed copy. They give you the Certificate the next day.  Forget the cost - maybe 1900B.

    3. Medical Cert - go to any clinic (the one 80M from your hotel/condo is easiest) and tell them you are applying for a license.  They'll ask you if you are sane (reply in the affirmative) and you get the cert.  Usually 500B

    4. IDL - if you have one for a MC, take it and a copy. (Note:  the website says take an "invalid copy" of the IDL.  That's Thinglish for "take in a valid copy") If all you have is foreign MC license written in English, take it and a copy.  Otherwise you do all/some of the tests as stated, depends on which way the wind blows that day.

The rest is (or should be) self explanatory.  You'll need a bike if you have to do the riding test. Provided you don't hit the tester or bang into something (and even that's probably allowed once),  you will pass.

Alternatively, use google and find one of the many agents that will facilitate all the above for you and hold your hand on the day for a small fee.  It's as confusing as hell when you get there and if you don't speak at least basic Thai you will be going around in circles. I know a dude that went 3 times before he even figured out where to queue - mind you he was tossed out the first time for throwing Farang fit of frustration.

  3. This is the same Alphabet Soup Name doctor that said last week that drinking alcohol makes it easier to catch the covid lurgy because the pharynx opens up.

I posted then that he was confusing his pharynx with his sphincter and speaking from the latter.

He obviously has an issue (read fetish) with bodily apertures.  Pharynx, sphincter, and now the uterus.

Next week he'll be addressing the meatus (pronounced somewhat ironically as me-ate-us).  Hands up if you can understand that one without google being your friend.

Anus will be his specialist topic next month on TV's Brains of Thailand.

  4. A suggested format for future surveys. "Should restrictions an alcohol sales be lifted"

    1. <deleted> Yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    2, Yes.

    3. Yes - I've swallowed the blue pill so I will stay home to avoid infection and be responsible for my own well-being. I do not want my personal anxiety to result in the unnecessary limitation of other's freedoms.

    4. Abstain from voting.

Just on the news   (Thairath) they showed a  Loy Krathong festival concert that was shutdown  due to people dancing !  they where supposed to stay sat in their socially distant chairs  and enjoy some foot tapping fun for  100 baht per seat.

In the video an angry performer was onstage  saying how can you expect to have a music festival with no dancing  what is the point !

I have an idea for a new T-Shirt.

"No sex dancing please, we're British Thai"

  6. They won't raise an eyebrow.

But if you send as a foreign currency make sure the bank has your Thai phone number and are able to contact you.

The reason is that they may decide to call you to confirm an exchange rate and if they cannot contact you they won't convert.

I use Wise so haven't had this problem for years.  But pretty sure I remember getting phone calls for anything larger than circa USD10k.  I certainly got phone calls for USD20K or more.  Things may have changed so I stand to be corrected.

Sorry I should have been more specific. I meant a Thaivisa forum.

It doesn't appear to exist any more - I can't find it but I stand to be corrected.  What are you trying to buy or sell?

Just start a topic and see if you get some response.  If you're looking for a full set of abused golf clubs (only the PW, SW 7, 6,  and 5 irons have bent or broken shafts) I may be able to help.
