  1. A possible trick on benefits and tax credits is to make them nominally contributory. One could even credit non-working *residents* with fictitious contributions, so as to exclude newcomers. This could probably be done without changing the EU rules.

One border control issue he may find a lot of support on (Dutch and Danish, at least) would be the abolition of the free movement rights of non-EU family members. They are not popular with EU governments, who often attempt to deny these rights.

Well good luck with the discrimination laws.somebody will get a bumper pay out there!

  2. Dodgy Dave does not comprehend that most Brits want out of the EU, There are a lot of scare tactics going on at the moment.

I agree with you! he knows how to talk the hind legs off a Donkey without actually saying anything of worth. Today in Parliament his" demands" for a new deal in Europe was met with derision even from his own back bencher's, the so called "demands was met with more like being assaulted with a wet Lettuce leaf, which should lead the population to the conclusion that the expected concessions from Europe will amount to Cameron's wishful day dreaming. And as all Brits know our only hope for us to get out of Europe rests with UKIP! lets hope Cameron doesn't get in the way of a Referendum on Europe! to put in a spoiler!

Let's hope he goes back to the used Car lot soon! where his true calling lays!

  3. He wouldn't do anything even if he could. Why would he, when his pals the industrialists benefit from a larger and larger pool of people who are prepared to work for less and less?

I think you have forgotten the minimum wage rate has now gone up to £6-70 and next year the minimum rate is set to top £ 7-00 the days of cheap labour are over.considering the skilled people will expect at least £8-00 per hour!

  4. That's because only the left is any good.

People who support righties: generally tossers. (Jeremy Clarkson, Jim Davidson, Andrew LLoyd Webber EDIT: Paul Daniels, Stuart Hall, Bernard Manning, Jimmy Savile!!!)

People who support lefties: witty , clever, and nice people. (David Mitchell, Stephen Fry, Alan Bennett, David Tennant EDIT: Patrick Stewart, Stephen Hawking!).

I don't need to Labour the point .

As you can see I am completely unbiased myself.

unbiased?or somewhat out of date.Stuart Hall got 2.5 years Jail for : a series of assault on several young girls, and unfortunately Saville died before they could put him away for a lifetime of Pedophilia! with hundreds of victims,so I wouldn't say those righties are any good, but perhaps you are playing the satire card?

  5. "it was a reminder the father's legacy could have a powerful impact if another of his sons, Jeb Bush, wins the White House."

George W. Bush made the acknowledgement in a public forum Sunday, talking about his father's biography with the book's author, Jon Meacham.

Oh please not another Bush, how much punishment can one World take?

  6. If repayment is not an option, what can they do?

Since when has repayment not an option when borrowing money? I read somewhere a while ago the government has a service where they pay off the loans to sharks and set a reasonable monthly payment for the person to pay at low interest till the debt is paid. I think it is on a thread even here in Thai Visa do a little searching. But I would like to add never should a borrower feel repayment isnot an option.Repayment is the responsibility of borrowing.

Exactly correct for individuals....it's a pity some countries cannot see it the same way, like Greece for example....then again, shouldn't the lender be equally classed as "irresponsible" when lending money to people they know cannot possibly pay it back.

"then again, shouldn't the lender be equally classed as "irresponsible" when lending money to people they know cannot possibly pay it back."

Yes but from their point of view they are expecting to make money somewhere along the the line,if only a partial write off to taxes.

Greece is exeptional, judging by those smug grinning faces that hijacked the EU into giving a 3rd x bailout loan knowing full well they will never pay it back,it's the price of stopping the EU from collapsing completely! One could be forgiven for hoping that Greece goes down the Pan before the EU Payee's!

  7. Yea right so Yingluck, who had never held public office, was elected "Clone PM" in the absence of Brother previous PM Thaksin,(according to Thaksin)

,who alledgedly spent many hours holding Skype Cabinet meetings.

And the Public wants to Directly elect PM, if it wasn't so serious a situation it would be laughable!

It's hard but I think I got it!

  8. The First single I ever bought was "Its now or never by Elvis Presley" Almost drove the Neighbours mad. But there was worse to come, single number 2 was "Glow little Glow worm" by Comedian "Charlie Drake" now that really did Hiss off the neighbours, peace came at last in the street when even I couldn't stand Drake any longer!

Elvis has always been the The King.

Remember this from a few years back:

It is in the same realm as Happy by Pharell. Good feeling music. Just makes yoiu want to dance!!! My laptop is doing a bit of a thigh movement at the monent.

Yes all us youngsters new Elvis was going to be the best singer for decades to come, strangely even the adults got to like him eventually!

  9. This is not unique to Thailand, many countries outside the Western world have this policy. India, Costa Rica, the list goes on. Don't see it as a Thai problem.

Windsor castle in the U.K. is about £15.....Thais and other foreigners should therefor pay a whopping £150 each by your thinking its not a problem.

Or alternatively charge the locals 10% = £1-50 and Thais £15.

  10. Annual United States Road Crash Statistics

Over 37,000 people die in road crashes each year

An additional 2.35 million are injured or disabled

Over 1,600 children under 15 years of age die each year

Nearly 8,000 people are killed in crashes involving drivers ages 16-20

Road crashes cost the U.S. $230.6 billion per year, or an average of $820 per person

Road crashes are the single greatest annual cause of death of healthy U.S. citizens traveling abroad

We could go on quoting figures forever !!!!

Thailands road deaths have been falling year on year.http://www.thaiwebsites.com/caraccidents.asp

The USA has a population of 318.86 million, compared with Thailands 65 million population!
