  1. Referring to the OP. How on earth do you question a 2 year old and expect sensible answers?

Someone on this forum once indicated that some Thai's drive their motorbikes without lights, to avoid ghosts chasing them. I thought that was a bit 'dodgy' but I'm now beginning to believe it a bit more.

I hope I hit the ghost before the bike. At least that would avoid hospital bills, given I'm bound to be in the wrong. Mind you, there could be a ghost hospital....now I'm being stupid!

    Absolutely you're not.

A friend who had surgery in a Chiang Mai hospital, had a very strange experience post op. He likened it afterwards to feeling suffocated and not being able to breathe. A nurse was called at the time as he was waving his arms around etc, you could see that something wasn't right. It was 2am and we asked the nurse if she would call the doctor and her reply was to leave it a while as the doctor is sleeping and it could be the ghost of the hospital bothering him and it will move on. Now I know that sounds ridiculous and I'm inclined to think the nurse was just fearful of waking the doctor, but I am assured by a Thai person who was there that she was deadly serious about the ghost and I wonder how many people don't get the service they need because of this sort of thing......go figure?

I am figuring! and I would bet it comes down to fear of upsetting superiours and loss of face or job,if you do!..... the Ghosts? they can't answer if they don't exist.

  2. This has been a grievance of mine for years.in the UK I can make an instant transfer of funds to another of my accounts or someone else in the UK in seconds. The same instant withdrawal applies to ATMs in Thailand, but when I send a transfer of funds I get ripped off to the tune of £20.The Banks excuse is: "Transfer fees",which is meaningless, when it's done sitting down at your computer I calculate the Bank operater can comfortably handle each transfer in 5 minutes on average, which @ £26.69 each, works out at £320 (15680 Baht) per hour, small wonder they count profits in Billions!

  3. I know it's a bit off topic but to me it's the same with 'Pre-Wedding Photo Shoots' ermm.gif

I don't ask too many questions, just go with the flow, TIT.

It is a bit false to see the Bride and Groom wedding photos that were taken 2 weeks ago displayed at the reception, but even so a nice finishing touch, that makes sure the photos can't come out, blurred and otherwise messed up!

  4. And of course he won't having any problems owning it 100%; they'll be no threat of changing the law on an annual basis for protectionist reasons. Just imagine he'll also be able to reside in the UK if he wants without having to apply annually for a visa and reporting to immigration like a common criminal ever 90 days.

If it was up to me I'd subject Thai citizens to the same that they subject foreigners to.

    "HERE HERE"

You can't blame the Thais for our stupidity for allowing,British Politicians to allow them to sell off our Country wholesale. The latest was our Royal Mail, sold off to Camerons cronies at a giveaway price! now the Tories are touting for our vote,so they can give away some more of the UK, to their sponsor mates, which is their version of corruption, and would be difficult to prove!

  5. 2 years for defamation, but nothing for the slaughter of civilians by the military, which has been proven by Thai courts.

And no issues for the months of vitriol and lies from the PRDC stage.

Oh, the justice! Oh, the reconciliation!

Do you have a link about the slaughter by the military which is proved by the Thai courts?

AFAIR they military were absolved and none were charged by the PTP government under Yingluck, unless you know better and can point it out to me.

Of course if you were talking about Abhisit and Suthep they are still in Thailand waiting for their time in court to be proved guilty of murder which they were accused of.

Yes,and unlike Hero sick.gif Thaksin, Abhisit and Suthep, didn't due do a runner out of the Country!

  6. This Post sounds like the usual Lecture/Rant from a born again Thai wannabe from Europe or the west!

Who thinks because he has sub consciously accepted he is Thai, but laughingly thinks Thais have also accepted him as a brother, this illness is usually manifested from something similar to Stir Crazy as in what Jail Prisoners experience, but in this case is normally caused by spending too much time in the boring villages. Later there is a tendancy to issue warnings: that if you don’t agree to every detail of Thainess, like me then don't let the door slam you in the ass, on the way out!

  7. I'm Agnostic. Atheists make me chuckle with their 'free thinkers' claims. They are the most closed minded sect around. I'm open minded enough to be awake to the idea there might be more to life than just the ' solid facts' Atheists like to bang on about.

The difference of an Atheist and a Agnostic is: one can make up his mind and the other just hedges his bets!

  8. You die ,end of road ,there is nothing .

There is no evidence of anyone coming back to state otherwise, although there has been many who have entered into pacts that if possible, they will come back and show the person who they had the agreement with, that there is life after death,so far no one has made a convincing appearance! since the beginning of time!

Unless they were con merchants, and crooks!

However,if there is no life after death, there is no point to having a Religion or a long life,or a short life,a happy or a tragic life,a successful life or a pointless life,a historical figure,or a nobody, because in the space of time, nobody will remember you,or whatever religion you believed in, or nothing we will all just fade away into history which nobody will have the time to remember! the pointless dead, billions and Trillions of people! Perhaps that is why Politicians, world leaders, and even mass murderers (Responsible for millions of deaths) fight so desperately to gain a place in the History books, it's slightly better than dying into nothingness! with or without a Religion!

  9. I have been using CCleaner for years, works just fine.

I try and do a weekly cleanup and backup also using Glary Utilities and Advanced system Care which sometimes show a reg entry missed by CCleaner but all in all I think CCleaner is all you realy need.

If you have a specific problem that has just come up you think CCleaner has missed, go to 'Options" - "Advanced" and uncheck the "only delete files older than 24 hours" box.

Just a heads up if you don't know, you can do a re-install of Windows 7 without loosing all your data and programs.

This has to be done from Desktop, load up your installation disk and click install and choose the "upgrade" option.

This will install a clean Win 7 without loss of your data. Any settings you had in Windows will need to be reset and you will have to reinstall all the M$ updates.

As always Back-Up your data before doing anything.

I will second Glary Utilities, one of the best of a bad bunch!

  10. Unfortunately the Supporters/Fans are getting restless for some action, there has been peace, and some good decisions made, and no bloodshed, the junta has to keep a tight rein on Thaksins Army until 2020 and we might see some semblance of a people ready for a fair Democratic vote, I only said might though?,but if peace carries on like this, then that must be a win for all the people,of Thailand!

  11. So it’s good bye to page 3 and the perfect body creation, anyone who thinks these model,s ever really existed and looked so perfect is not at all familiar with Photo shop,or the Joan Collins myth!

It would be nice to think the days of face plaster known as makeup, and war paint would also come to an end but I doubt it.

It’s all become a bit boring, even 70 year plus Murdoch is quietly nodding off.

Murdoch has spent a lifetime being a lobster, and no doubt he will be back with something especially obnoxious as well!

  12. So, the State loses 700 billion Baht on a 'self-financing' scheme, the PM stated in parliament that she and only she was in charge and some here still sprout nonsense?

The very fact of 700 billion Baht loss on a self-financing scheme with various persons involved having gone on record that there wasn't a problem and still these questions? It would seem the people involved have done their best to pin it on themselves.

It still doesn't confer criminal liability.

Just liability as result of negligence not enough for you?

I don't think she should be held liable by a court. In fact, her liability should have been judged by the electorate. Being useless isn't a crime. Having policies that cost the country money isnt a crime, least of all to be judged by a blatently partisan group put in power by a coup. This just doesn't pass scrutiny in my eyes.

So basically in your estimation Yingluck can be guilty of anything, and you will still be a willing desciple.

I'm sure the people would much rather have the lost money by liability, incompetence, being useless, etc returned, and duly judged by the Electorate, who will most likely: will never have the priveledge to be asked, their opinion!
