  1. Here's some more genuine one hit wonders from the sixties!

What a fabulous wealth of talent, there was available in the sixties, not only was there one hit songs by the hundreds, but most went on to be real classics! we Baby boomers were lucky to be alive in the sixties, there will never be another era like it! and the Music and Lyrics just takes your breath away!

    Great Post: Possum1931

    Here Comes Summer"

Despite writing many hits, Jerry Keller only ever had one hit in his own right.[5]

Ricky Valance 1 October 1960 "Tell Laura I Love Her" Ricky Valance was the first British one-hit wonder (hailing from Wales) (Unbelievable) He scored further hits in Europe, but none in the UK.

    B. Bumble and the Stingers 19 May 1962 "Nut Rocker" The song reappeared on the UK Chart ten years later, reaching #19. An instrumental group, B. Bumble and the Stingers had already scored their biggest hit in the US.[7]

The Overlanders 29 January 1966 "Michelle" It reached #1 in January 1966 for three weeks. They are the earliest British group to be classed as a one-hit wonder.[8]

The Crazy World of Arthur Brown 17 August 1968 "Fire" The group did score a hit (self-titled) album, but neither the band nor Arthur Brown in his own right managed to secure another placing in the singles chart.[9]

Zager and Evans 30 August 1969 "In the Year 2525" The song was written five years earlier, but did not become a success in the UK until it made #1 in the US.[10] It remains either me

  2. I did go to P. afew years ago with my Thia wife and we did the go-go bars etc. Have no need to go back again thanks , so what is it about the place that people like it there and even choose to live there. Every day on TV someone gets mugged ,some tops themselves , others drown , what is the attraction with the place ?

In the words of the song "I see the Devil walking next to me".....................and survived !

  3. The moral of the story? If you want to stick someone's face on something and sell it, probably check it's cool with them first.

Except, in this particular case the person in question could not be consulted because they were dead.

Does the ruling imply that generations of relatives of someone they maybe never met in their lifetime, now own the likeness of that person?

It appears so, and call me cynical but 'them' making money off their dead relative's image is their core interest.

Is there still a 'Guevara' family still out there who are now going to crack down on the plethora of 'Che' items worldwide?

Absolutely and the court agreed. The heirs inherit the royalties from music sold in the future, films, whatever belonged to the deceased.

Elvis Presley is reported to have made more money for his estate after he died than when he was alive and he's still making it.

Yep! true talent never dies,Elvis died much too young! I remember the shocking headlines in the UK in 1977 "The King is dead" it was almost as if a close family member had died, and many people mourned him like their idol and brother had just died! I don't ever recall any more sadder news than that !

  4. Oh, but think of the money they can collect. I have a feeling they are wishin' and hopin'.

That awful man raped her lots of times Then she had a boyfriend with no money and they made love Then she went back to Saville and was raped some more

Then to the boyfriend with no money and they made love Then to Saville for more rape !!!!!!!!

Oh goodness, now who raped her and who made love. After 3 years she was confused BUT the confusion became clear. Boyfriend was penny less and Saville

had money soooooo "even if my blond daughter is nothing to do with Saville" I can say I should get more money from his Estate as he raped me so many times.

Of course common sense says that the boyfriend should also be tested as the likely hood the child is not his either.

While I agree that children should be protected, lots of the current prosecutions involve young adults who while under 16 were fully consenting.

"who while under 16 were fully consenting." Sex under the age of sixteen in the UK is Illegal! so consent under the age of 16 is irrelevent !

Your argument is Pure conjecture! Unless you can supply the factual evidence? which is highly unlkely!

  5. "Her mother Georgina Martin was just 13 when she was snared by the paedophile..."

There is a chance she was already an attractive young lady but no child anymore.xunsure.png.pagespeed.ic.E7Vo3qsmeCasd_p

"He had sex with her more than 20 times over three years,..."

There is a chance she enjoyed the "offence", at least to some extend.xunsure.png.pagespeed.ic.E7Vo3qsmeCasd_p

Now there is a chance to squeeze out some money, or at least some popularity, after decadesbah.gif.pagespeed.ce.-cCHYEZ1LoERDvI-NyM

"There is a chance she enjoyed the "offence"

Is that your opinion or hers?

  6. Apple's market cap reached $400 billion, making Apple worth more than the economy of Greece, and liberals in Congress have proposed forgiving all student loans via “The Student Loan Forgiveness Act 2012,” costing taxpayers $1 trillion. And European finance ministers agreed in 2012 to create a permanent bailout fund for the euro zone with an effective firepower of almost €800 billion. And let us not forget the $303 trillion in derivatives that US taxpayers are now on the hook for. Google it. I did.

The only question is when the next multi-trillion (or perhaps quadrillion now that all global central banks are all in?) bailout takes place.

And so it goes. Small peanuts for Greece, eh?

Maybe Greece should apply for a corporate license instead of being a country, and tell Germany to shut the F up.

Countries cannot apply for bailouts. Corporations and banks and friends brothers and in-laws (FBI) can.

But Greece? Heavens no! Let's drag out all the dirty laundry on Greece and overlook all those scumbags mentioned in the beginning of my post. Let's hammer Greece for making a legitimate request and focusing the attention on something that no one wants to look at.

I've got no beef with Greece. I do respect them for having the toughness to stand up to all of this BS and ask for the same kind of help - to save a nation from crisis - that a whole bunch of lazy bums get to have for their failures to pay back their debts, and don't have to.

Greece can afford to be tough, they have everything to gain and nothing to lose,it's other members money they are spending, same as last time!

Welcome to Greek Poker, the game where no stake is necessary!

  7. 30 beers ,oh my God ,thats about 6 months supply for me smile.png mind you i do like a whisky and ice before bed.

It would take me 60 years to get through 30 cans of beer.

I can't believe that someone would drink 210 cans of beer per week. That's 11,000 beers in a year. That's would be almost 700,000 beers in a lifetime, assuming you lived to 80 odd.....which I don't think any liver could handle.

3 drinkers like that could fill an Olympic Sized swimming pool with beer with their lifetime of beer.

If you gave up 5 years ago, sound like your looking for an excuse to get back too it.

    Up to you.

"I can't believe that someone would drink 210 cans of beer per week."

Considering they are small cans in Thailand, 30 cans a day = about 15 Pints, that's not a great deal! I knew several 15 Pints a day Drinkers, and one was well known for drinking 20 Pints of Guinness in a days drinkers, which was witnessed by many,....Yes he is still alive!
