  1. The First single I ever bought was "Its now or never by Elvis Presley" Almost drove the Neighbours mad. But there was worse to come, single number 2 was "Glow little Glow worm" by Comedian "Clarlie Drake" now that really did Hiss off the neighbours, peace came at last in the street when even I couldn't stand Drake any longer!

  2. "The Ministry of Public Health has revealed that as many as 25,100 Thais died from strokes last year."

With the amount of sugar and sodium (salt, fish sauce, MSG, etc.) in the diet, compounded with a total lack of exercise, it's a small wonder why there aren't more of these strokes. I see Thais riding their motorbikes from one food stall to another, only to get off to eat. How else can a pair of flip flops last for 3 years? Morbidly obese children can be seen riding their motorbikes to 7-11s and exiting the store with giant Slushies and bags of sodium laden snacks. The only question about the future health of Thais is: Which preventable disease will kill more, diabetes or strokes?

look on the label, fish sauce contains a massive 25% Salt (Sodium)

  3. My personal experience is that the longer I am exposed to a particular group of people the greater my attraction to them becomes. When I was in the Middle East, I found myself attracted to Middle Easterners after a time. When I lived in Turkey, I found my attraction for them grew strong after a time. The same happened in various areas of Europe where I lived.

Of course, living in Asia, I have always had a liking for Asians.

Within those groups there are certain physical traits that I find more attractive than others. I can't easily explain them, but regardless of the race, there are similarities.

Perhaps human desire is stronger than racism.

    Good point!

  4. Hiso is basically anyone else OP...bow your head and suck it up.

there is no such as Hi So it's all in the mind of the one with a inflated Ego! No doubt you have met some already, the ones with their nose in the air to make sure even their own smell dosn't spoil the illusion of a perfect arrogant plonker!

  5. Not at all condoning the actions of Polanski, i feel it worth mentioning that america,s most famous female country and western singer was a grandmother at 28, God bless her and her music, and I do not believe anyone was brought to justice over the obvious mathematical certainty the someone was doing "it" at the age of 13 years old, and in good old U.S.A. ! Something here reeks of hypocracy, often selected as the worst sin of all smile.png

A good effort! but two wrongs don't make a right,no matter how much it's twisted around and used as an example!

  6. This man has brought this problem onto his own head.

Allegedly he has lived/worked in Saudi for 25 years so he should know what the "rules" are.

The Saudis are remarkably tolerant of Western lifestyles as long as it is kept within the gated compounds where most expats live.

By transporting alcohol he knowingly broke Saudi Law.

360 lashes! the punishment doesn't fit the crime, even a young man would be hard pressed to survive this Barbaric sentence!

  7. Some country's will leave in the next few years.

If that is the case it will probably the Countries that are holding the EU together. Countries that will gain more from staying in the EU such as:

    Rumania,Bulgaria,Greece,Italy,Portugal,Spain,Czech Republic,Estonia,Hungary,Ireland,Latvia,Poland,Slovakia!

and a few other Bankrupts! Contributing next to nothing to the Pot!

And now we have potentially several million Economic Migrants, added to the EU Payroll, with a Zero contribution,I ask you? what chance has the EU got to survive

    and prosper?

  8. So many powder kegs. I guess that we need to reorganize the planet under a new world order. Redefine national borders and establish rulers over all under a new currency base and unified single religious authority. The top 1% of the top 1% will make sure they have the right people in place for the transition.

Whats the point of "Redefining National Borders"when the Economic Migrants just force their way through the Borders already in place, with no respect for any bodies Country ? the message is: we will take what we want, and use force if necessary!

  9. Say what you will ...at least the Chinese don't pull UK under the rug with some rubbish information intelligence and tell them to let's start a war together

Have a look at some of the wars started in recent years and you would think some nations are deliberate dictators but the intellectual understand it's just being busy bodies not really anything nazi in it

The Brits were once an empire built on trade and rightfully now they have returned to those roots and seeking a partner like them ...there is nothing wrong with more strategic partnerships

For every day fun and meddling experiences , they have their American cousins for ideas

Oh...right...China can be trusted so much more than the British relationship with the US.

Culturally speaking, the UK and China have so very much in common, eh ?

Culturally speaking, the UK and China have so very much in common, eh ?

    I take it that's a Satirical comment!

  10. “This is a visionary and strategic choice that fully meets Britain’s own long-term interest.”

now they just have to balance their time between being the lackeys of the US and the lackeys of the PRC.

At least "Great" Britain doesn't have to worry about offending the EU. They have already mastered that concept successfully.

    Whore of the western world....

Whore of the Western world - no France beat them to that a long while ago with their arms for anyone, bending of all EU rules to suit themselves, and slush funds.

Germany would like to be there, as Siemens and VW would agree.

Italy is full or corruption whilst Spain, Greece and Portugal still think the world owes them a living.

France supplying Exocet missiles to Argentina in the Falklands war clinched that title too!

  11. I just hope that this is Britain finally trying to engage in realpolitik. Too many years, too much money, and especially too many lives wasted in an "ethical foreign policy" to make Blair, Brown and Cameron look good on the world stage. Hate to say it, but learn from the French. British politicians should put British interests first and foremost.

"British politicians should put British interests first and foremost"

Sadly Farangmick, one by one all them have failed to do just that!

  12. The Chinese still hold resentment against the British for sacking and destroying the Summer Palace in Beijing in 1860. I used to read an Asian forum with several Chinese members who occasionally posted about it and they still harboured ideas of revenge against the UK for the incident.

Wonder how it will play out in future and if the UK will apologize like they did to India over the Amritsar massacre.

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-30810596

There was no resentment when the UK honorably gave back Hong Kong when the China/Hong kong 99 year lease expired,in fact the UK gave Hong Kong a world class send off!

This week you may see in the world news of how much the episode :Summer Palace in Beijing in 1860,really means now! forget the old Colonialism and start working down from zilch!
