Academic expresses support for legalizing community-made alcoholic brews
h90 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
When only fermenting there is little risk to produce something toxic. And if it should taste half decent than there is zero risk. Distilled there is some risk, but really it is not difficult. Unless you take the throw away part and improve it with artificial aroma. But making beer or "mango wine" is so safe that no one need to worry and it does not need any bureaucracy controlling it. -

No the law should not be amended and things considered. The law should be complete canceled. -
Thai coconut milk industry battles PETA’s monkey abuse claims
h90 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I recommend to visit a milk or meat production anywhere in Europe or USA (but of course also in Thailand)....Or a slaughterhouse and what all goes wrong there. It is cruel beyond what normal people can imagine. Monkeys is the smallest problem I can imagine.... -
Economy will be the first casualty of rising political uncertainty

You are right on the beer and if MF changes it than I'll applaud it. I think it isn't an important topic. But still the monopoly and the sales times should be removed. I full agree with you on this. I am no specialist on the beer laws but I think it predates this government, the same discussion was 20 years ago as well, I think. And on Marijuana they want to do the exact opposite......your evil dictator gave freedom and your democratic MF want to ban it and continue the stupid narcotic laws ......remember the elected Thaksin had the war against drugs with the bullets flying deep....Is it a free society when you maybe catch a bullet on the side walk in the evening. (in Nakhon Si Thammerat you could hear shootings every night) When an elected government is murdering or torture (Bush) people than any means are justified to remove them. I prefer an election but if it saves hundreds or thousands of lives I am OK with a coup.... If a government just makes bad politics of course democracy is the only way to fix it. -

I did not loose any elections....I am not a fanboy of everyone and I do not restrict anyones freedom. I am for everyones freedom. Freedom=no one controls anyone. You want your radical left controls everything and take everyones freedom. For example restriction Marijuana is less freedom, even if the party who does it was elected with a majority and even if the freedom comes from a military dictator. If during Covid in Thailand/Germany/California etc people had restrictions and less freedom with their democratic elected government than in Belarus with their dictator. Democracy and freedom is not the same....Hitler was democratic elected. Democracy is a tool to ensure freedom for everyone. If the tools fails...people elect Adolf Hitler than a military coup is better. -
The main body is Thai Summit. When some super rich found a party it is not grassroot, even if they win the majority. Grassroot is when medium and low income people together found a movement....which is almost never successful because the elite will destroy them. Thanatorn/Thaksin/Prayuth.....no one is the grassroot here. The yellow AND the red were partially grassroot....non of them every got what they wanted...

You are right, they aren't equal in support.....Don't be naive...different Elites fight for power. No one is fighting or even care for the regular people. A left wing socialist government that is active is worse than a former general that only sits there and does nothing.....I don't care about democracy, I care how much the government restrict freedoms. I rather have a dictator from which I never hear or see anything than a clean democratic elected government that restricts my life with new laws every month. I dislike both, but think they are easier to tolerate if they make less and Prayuth did very little (if he wouldn't have done this Covid disaster and acted more like Tanzania, I would be a fanboy) -
a conviction should be disqualifying.....the media company law is rubbish....but it is law. You can't apply laws in case you like the person or not. I am not desperate, I am no fanboy....I am libertarian...for me is every government bad. An inefficient lazy government like Prayuth is the least problem for me...not because they are good, because they are not doing nothing beside pocket some money. And a left wing government is the worse for me.

They are still reporting turnover and are legally active. Legally it is an active company that could anytime resume working. Depends on the courts if they follow the letter of the law or more the intention. If follow the intention of the law the iTV is a complete nothing.....If they follow the law exactly it is a media company. I remember Samak.....The intention of the law wasn't to prevent a prime minister having a non political cooking show, still it killed him.

If the other side is only 10% and radical it is enough to destroy a country....And there are more than 10% monarchists in Thailand who react to propaganda about 112. -
non elites vote for some elites.....because true grass root movement are blocked long before, are not mentioned in the mass media. It is a struggle between different elites. MF is owned by one of the richest Thais. PTP is Thaksin. The military has the guns. BJ is owned by Newin. Non elite can pick what they consider least evil and may offer them some bread crumbs. Some honest hard working Somchai will never see the parliament from inside...not here not in USA not in Germany not in Russia. That makes all the fanboy behavior laughable.....I am not desperate....I don't care. MF will be a bigger economic disaster than Prayuth was, but we'll weather that also. And for the conspiration theorist: Prayuth, Yingluck and the former MF guy all visit the WEF and are friends with Klaus Schwab (Same as Trump, Putin, Merkel, Trudeau....left or right)

The problem is the other side is exactly the same, so the country is deep polarized....no easy way out....The man in Dubai might be a compromise. -
yes yes....but what I meant is that the other poster said to post the pictures of the EC members and judges and from their families and their CHILDREN and shame them in school...You can say that the EC should be in jail....I wouldn't say it but someone can have the opinion. But not their children...
