    This country has no hope

IF A DIAGNOSED  and known epileptic then he should never have a license or drive, so premeditated murder would be feasible as he knew he was carrying a loaded gun.

The most simplest disagreement leads to an outbursts of unbelievable anger  leading to tragedies such as this one. I see it and we witness it everyday, LOS is a land of lunatics it seems. RIP

When I was driving tour buses, it was always on my mind to respect passengers safety and drive extra carefully at all times.

A trait sadly, rarely  found in Thai drivers.

    RIP those loved ones

Ok, my conversations with someone whose shoe size number is higher than their IQ number is over.  I made a simple statement and you want to twist and turn it into something major.  Idiot.

In many cases there ends up being a secret Thai boyfriend in the background, one guy I new was married to a Young Thai lady and when he went back to work on the rigs the Thai BF moved into the house, the whole village new and laughed about it.

guess, since these children don't receive any education by their parents and never learn to obey,  they continue to act as they like in Kindergarten or school, not listening or obeying the teacher or the nanny.

Which leads to such violent outbursts by teachers who wish to make themselves heard. A form of expressing their helplessness by playing out physical strength

If the children would just obey . . like the boy who starts wandering around, if it was for the Nanny who told him three, four times "please sit down with the others" without him reacting . . . well WHAT would you do in her place? Freak out or keep your calm?

a difficult situation . . . if parents pass their educational responsibilities to nannies and teachers, they must be willing to accept that this education is based on learning & obeying

Thai women ruin children especially boys, I have a young son and he controls women around him and is spoilt rotten by them.

He is a bit of a problem now as he does not want to do what he is told.

The schools are shocking I don't know how kids sit in those tiled hot rooms and get screamed at a lot, learn anything.

But roughing young toddlers up is not on.

Some westeners just feel a bit too superior when abroad.

Sorry for the wounded tourist, but he would have avoided the whole issue in just minding his own business.

I will get a good bashing here for saying this, but if people rant in real life as they do so here, it's just no surprise that such things occur.

Wish the poor fellow a prompt recovery and hope the suspect is arrested and jailed nevertheless.

Your quite right, Thais love noise, and noisy bikes, the house over the back from me is being altered and the workers make more noise talking than the power tools.

Thais love noise,,don't think this is reported in lonely planet.

On saying that a English guy I know had a bar in Pattaya and a Swiss man had one opposite, the Swiss man was turning his sound up so high to drown out others that my friend went over and asked him to turn it down, a fight erupted over it and the Swiss man got knocked over.

Then the Swiss man came back later with a baseball bat and hit my friend over the head from behind, putting him in hospital,.

Stupid Swiss man paid the price later.

    Didn't see that one coming............

I used to drive Chinese and Korean tours in NZ, the tour guides had the shopping jacked up and we had to drive tourists to back street factories where they thought they were getting a great deal but they were being ripped, even the eating places were a jack up, we got paid a commission on shopping and had to by-pass tourist shops so the passengers did not see them.

The tour guides even charged passengers for free venues, eventually Chinese bought their own busses and killed a lot of bus companies.

Same thing happening here just a big scamming act on their own people.

One tour guide almost got lynched one night when a couple of passengers walked into town and saw a tourist shop selling wool mattress underlays $200 cheaper than what they had bought that day.

Worst drivers in the world, that is an amazing achievement, considering how horrible people drive in some other countries.

It boils down to no sense of caution coupled with no law enforcement. The only way you can charged with dangerous driving here is to have an accident. Otherwise, Somchai's your uncle.

Horrible is a good description, when linked to attitude, speeding and no police to be found on most roads.

    Me first rules.

Let's face it, it was only a matter of time, and will probably stay top for quite a while.

sorry to say that the government has achieved number one for something this hideous.

I never feel safe on Thai roads as the idiots approach from behind at great speed trying to overtake you no matter what.

The government has not figured out the revenue it could make from speed cameras/ enforcement /control

Crack down on the immigration officials who accept bribes to allow this criminal filth to invade the kingdom.

Dead right, and correct the color blindness issue with the police who can not tell a thai working girl from a African even when they stand directly in front of them or lined up down a soi or in Sukhomvit Rd

Many of these scammers that are getting into LOS without passports might be entering overland
