The numbers would already prove this. They know it, we know, everyone knows it.

The I'd say a good portion of tourist will not return until "ALL" restrictions are removed, and that includes, Covid19 test letter/declaration [or whatever the <deleted> it will be called] & this special Covid19 insurance. Worst still until the quarantine is in place, then expect only the most desperate to come.

Listen, if you are Chinese and get the Sino vaccine you won't need any insurance or quarantine, you will however be on a managed tour with a Chinese tour guide and you will shop and stop in Chinese Thai owned venues.

Thailand to borrow $1.5 billion from ADB to cope with Covid-19 impact

The Finance Ministry signed an agreement with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Monday to secure a loan of US$1.5 billion to help combat the impact of Covid-19.

Finance Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said after signing the deal with Hideaki Iwasaki, ADB country director for Thailand, that the loan was part of the country's Bt1-trillion emergency borrowing to combat the impact of the pandemic.

He said the ministry had used many tools in fiscal year 2020 to secure domestic loans for funding its three main projects, which are public health projects to solve the outbreak, compensation for those affected by the virus, and economic stimulus packages to revive the economy.

He added that many organisations were offering foreign loans to Thailand and the ministry was considering these proposals.

Public Debt Management Office director-general Patricia Mongkhonvanit said that the government has already borrowed Bt338 billion out of the proposed Bt1-trillion loan.

I would gladly pay an airport tax of 1000Bht as probably most people would to cover medical costs for C19 ect. Think of how much that would help LOS

They still have not included family members of those on OA, OX and non-o visas/extensions for retirement to get a certificate of entry.

Maybe they will add them soon. It is a serious omission by the government not including them.

You can enter on a non oa with covid insurance purchased outside Thailand but once you have to renew your insurance and visa you have to purchase the policy from 1 of 14 Thai companies and 76 is the maximum age, this was passed into Thai law by the Pruyut regime, source my insurers in Thailand. You also need money in a Thai bank, Joe can explain that.

Sweet Jesus, and this guy is in a position of authority ? What a meaningless comment.

The Baht has strengthened consistently against USD for 6 months, this on the back of one of the worst performing stock markets in Asia, which is still 15% down on pre-COVID valuation. (1,350 vs 1,600)

I know, as I am feeling the pain with my LTF & RMF investments !

And some people just keep on buying gold

They still don't seem to understand the concept of the travel bubble as they are still t 8alking about quarantine.

Mr Dhanin CP group, the man from China Town is the man who pays the piper, he calls the tune Mr Prayut dances and the STV are all CP group puppets, and I suspect all of them have had a shot of Sino vaccine before they arrived so none of them will return to China infected, however they will have lots of info on their laptops.

what's wrong with these people, if tourists typically stay 10 days (traveling around) why would they commit to a 10 or 14 day quarantine....to stay locked in an hotel room 555

Travel bubble  only works if there is no quarantine

Even if test 2 and 3 are negative they still choose to quarantine that guy.

How many negative tests are needed after 1 positive?

a lot of people are going to have their trip to Thailand ruined, when no tests are 100 % accurate, and if that's the standard when reopening Thailand.

Some tests has shown to be 98% accurate, but that's still 7 persons on average on each arriving plane that will have a false test.

Not sure i like those odds.

When community cases are found in LOS, they later test negative upon further tests, to ensure safety they then go into quarantine, this is not voluntary.

When they pass the 14 day safety quarantine, they are clear of C19 and assured that they did the right thing for the safety of beloved LOS.

The community spread record stays intact.

As for cases discovered in quarantine, it has been found in NZ that facility staff have developed C19 while working and that some people who arrived testing negative, later tested positive.

The only conclusion is that they and staff can contract C19 whilst in a quarantine facility.

Hence explaining why an electrician who was discovered outside a quarantine facility had contracted the C19 virus from pressing buttons in a lift whilst servicing the facility, the strain was traced to the facility and the health dept. are certain that he contracted the disease while doing maintenance as a contractor.

So, spread inside the facilities can be transmitted to staff and service contractors, so why it can not transmit between those sent into quarantine  would be a blatant denial that it could happen, or a loss of face for those running the facility.

There are several boneyards in Arizona and California.  See:

    https://www.airplaneboneyards.com/commercial-aviation-airplane-boneyards-storage.htm .

I worked the communications center at Fort Huachuca, Arizona 1980 and 1981.  We were ALTROUTE(*) for Davis-Monthan, Air Force Base in Tucson.  When their pathway to the switching center at Norton AFB in California was out of service we took their data pattern/Hollerith card messages.  These we stored on 9-track magnetic tape.  When they were back in service we loaded the received magnetic tapes and transmitted to Norton.  On extended several day outages I was told their data card punch machines ran non-stop for a couple of days.  This talk of boneyards triggered this ancient memory.

(*) ALTROUTE was alternative message routing in the days of AUTODIN (Automatic Digital Network) which replaced the torn tape relays.  Another example: the Army commcen at Camp Samae San was the base commcen ALTROUTE for U-Tapao.

    Terry in Thailand

If the enlightened one sees this (your link) he might get ideas for Thai force one to be built from these in storage

Phuket town is doing ok, We spent 3 days in Nakorn Si business as usual over there we've also been to Trang, Trang itself was ok but not the beach areas they were dead.

Quite simple, let the European people who live in Thailand back, in now stop extortion by Thai owned insurance companies, which by the way, the government has passed laws for which allows them to invoke, sadly, conditions on age and forbids other overseas companies insurance to stand in Thailand.

Then the quarantine extortion and now the plastic GPS wrist bands they probably bought from HUAWEI for 500 BHT and will require you to pay 5000 BHT for before you can get through immigration

Sadly the return of people that own homes has become extortion.

And the STV is being extorted by the same means

And the powers that be are writing this into Law.

They are actually writing Thailand into economic suicide.

If it gets much worse for the people with millions of BHT locked in Thailand then possibly political pressure from the peoples embassies may happen in the near future.

They havent got a clue. One minute they are suggesting ways of attracting more tourists such as reducing the quarantine period, then next they announce this.

They really are driving a nail in the already buried coffin.

Does this mean if you are returning as married to Thai with your children that you will have to wear one of these?

Sounds like some Chinese electronics company on the STV just sold the illustrious leader a few containers of plastic GPS bands, I wonder if it was Prawit as he likes wearing expensive things on his wrist.

I hope the batteries will be included as well as a full replacement warranty

How much are idiots paying to sit next them on a long flight?

NZ has had to limit bookings on flights for the people returning to NZ as the quarantine facilities are overloading.

They brought 400 Russian fishing crew in this week and now 11 testing positive. Others returning from India, USA, and many other countries are turning up positive covid tests after a few days in quarantine.

This sounds similar to what is happening in Thailand.

This tells us that all the talk about shortening quarantine to 10 days is nonsense and that 11 million Chinese tourists coming in soon is a very ambitious dream, unless they are all vaccinated with an approved Chinese vaccine that is working

So the financial experts say only 8 million tourists next year, hang on a minute T.A.T. says there will be 11 million Chinese tourists, so who is correct?

Clearly they never got their heads together before making their respective announcements.

From looking at the picture of the financial experts, they look very Chinese to me.

Bingo, that's why they cannot predict the European numbers.

Obvious that the only beneficiary's from tourists entering Thailand will be Chinese owned venues, local Thai will get Zilch.

Perhaps TAT should open a museum dedicated to Thailand's illustrious leader.

A holy place dedicated to his life story, heroic accomplishments, dazzlimg brilliance, and unparalleled contributions to Thailand's peace, happiness and prosperity. A monument to his greatness would surely prove irresistible to tens of millions of Chinese pilgrims...eager to donate lavish sums of money for supreme spiritual guidance.

After all, he is the one and only...Hero-General.

Yes, a 5 metre high bronze statue bolted on top of Victory Monument, the BK post could advise where to find the best people to construct this.

Well, I am not sure how much work will get done, but I am pretty sure if there is 80 Billion floating around, the Mayor and friends will find a way to misappropriate spend the lot.

Sounds like the STV investment flights are making big plans.
