Gov hospitals are better than most private hospitals. Gov hospitals have specific medical procedures that must be followed to insure proper care. No rules in private hospitals.

So true - outpatient cover really racks up the premium and yet probably 90% of outpatient bills won’t get past the excess - so you are paying a hefty chunk for cover you can’t use!
Plus most people just pay it in cash.
Cigna offered me 400k outpatient cover - there isn’t a procedure in the world that will cost you 400k as an outpatient and send home same day.
Stents are performed as out patient in the US depending on your total health situation. 2 stents here in Thailand can easily cost B500K.
It won't surprise me if Thai insurance companies start insisting that stents be done as out patient.

I am 70 years old, have had colon cancer, now have bladder cancer, am diabetic, type 2, but the good thing is I am married to a Thai lady who works for the government, which means they pay. will I need the new insurance?
Why would you need new insurance when the Gov covers you with no limits...

I was in the government hospital yesterday, saw the doctor, saw the nurses, minor treatment, given meds to take home.
Took a while, was there 5hrs, total bill 77bht.
I am insured by the Thai Gov.. My co-pay is B280. How can your bill be B77, Makes no sense..

I don't get it!! I canceled True after 9 years of their horrible service. Turns out, I had a deposit with them [B3000] that was required 11 years ago.
True cancelled my service and transfered my B3000 + 8 years of interest.
I just can't understand why peeps have a problem cancelling with True.

In the process of building a new house. I think I will go with Carrier inverters as they seem to have the highest EER ratings.
I have used Carrier back in the US with no issues. Carrier made the first residential unit in 1914.

And the country that leads the world in pickup ownership is Texas.
Never knew that Texas was a Country.... lol

People are not buying traditional cars. SUV's and pickups are a much better value.
Ford said on Wednesday the only passenger car models it plans to keep on the market in North America will be the Mustang and the upcoming Ford Focus Active, a crossover-like hatchback that's slated to debut in 2019.
That means the Fiesta, Taurus, Fusion and the regular Focus will disappear in the United States and Canada.
Ford will, however, continue to offer its full gamut of trucks, SUVs and crossovers.
And it's not just Ford. Fiat Chrysler did away with the Dodge Dart and Chrysler 200 more than a year ago.
GM will discontinue the Chevrolet Impala full-size car, the company confirmed. ... The company will also end U.S. sales of the Cadillac XTS and Buick LaCrosse luxury cars after production ends in March. And the Cadillac CT6 will be killed off in the U.S. after mid-2019, though it will continue to be sold in China. [CNN Business]

I did mine by mail. I was surprised as it took only 8 working days. Must have been a slow time of year.

I suspect that it will depend entirely on whether the Thai Baht PayPal account comes under Thai jurisdiction or not. And I suspect that it does.
The obvious way round it would to be paid to a PayPal account in some other country.
That doesn't resolve anything. PP rules state your account needs to be in the country you reside in.
Even if you could have an account in a country you do not reside in, you still would be subject to that country's tax rules.

You are a resident for tax purposes if you have resided in Thailand for 180 days or more whether your visa is tourist, retirement, marriage or you are working. Therefore, you will need to pay tax on all overseas income after 6 months of residency here.
Not 100% accurate.. The OP can wait 1 year from the date the product was paid into his Thai bank via PP, rendering that income tax free here in Thailand.

If you want to use it for flight checkin, make the booking in Thai script etc.
Sheryl, the mod that answers the medicial questions, was saying in another thread its needed to register at public hospitials to get ongoing social security if you finish working.
I am covered by the Thai medical program for Gov workers. Quite a few months ago, the hospital told me that I must have the pink card in order for them to process the payment with the Gov.
They said just a yellow book is no longer acceptable.
Went and got the pink card.. took 20 minutes.. No big deal.

Probably won't be that easy on the grounds OP wasn't contactable when they wanted to make the delivery, and now change of mind. Probably a restocking fee, or store credit only, but you never know, they may just refund the total in cash.
Lazada's policy.. you can return any item wth 7 days. The clock starts when delivered. If the item has not been delivered, Lazada will tell you to refuse it when delivery is attempted.
-
Just call Lazada and tell them you no longer want the item. They will have it returned to the warehouse and process your refund.

A non-o visa only allows 90 day entries. If a multiple entry non-o it is valid for one year and and it is possible to get a total stay of almost 15 months by getting a new 90 day entry just before it expires.
A OA visa allows unlimited one year entries for one year from the date of issue. It is possible to get almost 2 years of total stay from it getting new one year entry shorley before it expires.
Thanks.. appreciate the explanation..

What is the difference between an O and a OA? Are the rules the same ie 2nd year renewal?

The United States Department of the Treasury now offers direct deposit of federal benefit payments, including Social Security Administration (SSA), Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), and Office of Personnel Management (OPM), to banks in Thailand. The payments are automatically converted to Thai Baht (THB) at the international exchange rate before they are deposited in the account. U.S. dollar payments are not available. The United States Department of the Treasury does not charge fees to make the deposits. However, Thai banks may charge fees.
Direct deposit is the safest, most convenient and reliable method of receiving your benefits. The payment is electronically transmitted to your bank account and you have immediate access to your funds by the payment date. There are no delays, including missing and stolen checks.
You do not have to do anything if you are currently enrolled in direct deposit. Your payments will continue to be sent to your current bank.
If you wish to sign up for direct deposit or switch your direct deposit arrangement to another bank in Thailand, please contact the agency listed below.

3 days ago the US Consulate sent an email stating DD is now available in Thailand.
You can have your SS DD to KBank. You need to contact SSA Manila via email and request the change to your KBank account.

I do drive about 130-140 though.
Interesting about the premium diesel.
Sent from my iPhone using Thailand Forum - Thaivisa mobile appI use Shell Premium Diesel and it makes a noticeable difference. It does cost about 3bht more per ltr which I find worth it, but many may not.

Lazada and Kerry express will probably get to you, amazing service.
Nice for the pool when they burn the cane.

If they are covered by the Thai Health System, I doubt they will have to obtain and pay for health insurance.
