I am in the middle of 'the jungle' 30km from Phitsanulok. Have 3BB fibre direct to my router....220mb/s @ Bht 749 per month. But connect via Express VPN it is down to 50. Works perfectly, just watched Killing Eve 8 episodes one after another !

That's great. I have a Nvidia Shield and a SkyStream 2 Android box. My kids have some cheap box in their room as well.

There are times all 3 are connected and I never have a single issue.

I do not use a VPN. I don't see the value.

Drinking the koolaid eh?  I bought a kit and tested my water.  It's fine.  My electricity never goes out for any length of time that would drain my UPS.  My INTERNET (3bb) is faster (500/500) than any of my children in the USA and I have 5G for my WiFI.  Maybe I live in a different Thailand than you.

You just don't get it. There are villages that do not have public water or electricity like you and I do.

Seems the Gov doesn't care and has done nothing about it.

    So enjoy your KoolAid

I wonder how much he paid for the installation as most condos have fiber running to the building control box and then switches to VDSL by telephone copper line to each unit.

I'm not sure about never condos but the cost to pull fiber line to each unit will be high unless its done from the building construction stage as fiber cables are sensitive and cannot be bent.

He is in the penthouse and was charged B2500 to drop the cable. BTW his condo is about 20 years old.

Thanks for the explanation! Im in a condo no fiber for me :(. Your speeds are amazing, its getting harder to explain to my friends back home why I have twice their internet speed in a thirdworld country. Not that I think it is. lol

My friend's condo does not have fibre either. He called 3BB and they ran a fibre line to his unit. Give it a try.. nothing to lose.

Thailand is not a Third World country either by the historical or modern definition.

Google the definition and you might be surprised as was I.

Doesn't matter what Google claims. IMO, Thailand is a 3rd world country.

When a country does not supply clean water and electricity to everyone, it's 3rd world.

how do you know its a farce?  I have the fastest vdsl 50mb and international package, my speedtest thru testmy.net report 52mb to singapore and 36mb to aust and US is similar.

I had the Int package and never got the speed advertised. I kept complaining about it to 3BB.

They finally sent their head engineer to my home who told me that I'm throwing good money after bad and to cancel the INTL Package

He did some magic in  the 3BB box and I never had a speed problem since.

I just checked my speed to Singapore and it's 226.But I do have Fibre Optic.

do you have the 3bb international package? or your browsing / tv is just local thai websites?

3BB International is a farce. You get nothing but an additional B200 on your bill.

They have checked it numerous times.  We have a VPN so we have tried multiple servers.  Some 4G say they offer unlimited and that speeds are up to 128 MBPS.  That is why I posted in this forum to see if what is advertised is true and if they are or are not expensive.

Your problem is the VPN. They all slow your connection down.

Try connecting without your VPN and see if you get better results.

This is an interesting story and hopefully we get an answer here. In respect of the same amount every month. We had this with water meters in our condo complex. They simply were to lazy to check the meters and so always took the same amount. But of course it might be a completely different story in your described case. Especially since a strange guy charged them 2500 per unit for his special service.

Not the case. The meter reader is her the 18th of each month like clockwork.

In your home country maybe that is the case. In Thailand ?? It's often just a matter of passing the savings up the line, no pun intended ie the PEA staff get a small cut...

I tend to doubt it. If they were involved, you wouldn't need a 3rd party to do whatever they are doing to the meter.

Plus, this is not a small village, this is a large city with hundreds working at the PEA Office.

Well, this is a criminal offence, should they get caught, and they will be, i suspect criminal proceedings hefty fines and probably a jail term, not worth it..

You would think so but I am told that the electric company has no idea how much electricity has been stollen, they never press charges and just negotiate a settlement. They will not reinstall the meter till the settlement is paid.

  11. Some of my neighbors [5] had something done to the electric meter to avoid large bills.

From what I am told, you can have the meter altered to produce a specific bill each month.

One neighbor runs 2 ac units 24/7 and the bill is B750 every month.

Another is running 4 ac units 24/7 and had their bill set to B1200.

The guy that did this for them charges B2500 per ac unit which I don't under stand. One would think that electric runs through the meter and will increase based on demand. If you had the meter altered to produce a specific monthly bill, why should it matter how many ac units you are running.

So how are they doing this? I have noticed that those neighbors meters run very slow compared to mine. Are they using magnets to slow the meter down? If so how are they getting a specific monthly bill.

These neighbors have been doing this for years. Why doesn't the electric company know what's going on? Does it not sound strange to get the same bill every month. I know mine fluctuates.

Some of you Sparkys may have incite to what's going on.

I would think the land owners could charge you as much rent as they wanted, for residing on their land.

Just like a mobile home park charges for you to set up and live on their land

Sure, you can stay as long as you want if you can afford it.

Then if you leave, they can go about getting the house deed through some type of non-payment foreclosure deal because you have not made payments due for the land "your" house sits on

    There is no rent.

But if foreigner cannot own land in Thailand - can the landowner tell you to move house or leave?

If your wife is the land owner, she can sign the document giving you the ability to stay in the house.

You will not own the land. If she has children or relatives they or whomever she wills the land to will own the land but you will be able to stay as long as you wish.

Make sure the document states that no one can move in without your approval.

Hi, I don't know what prices you are paying now but Lazada sellers stock Royal Canin 18-34% below recommended retail price - if that helps. (May or may not be cheaper, I don't know what you're paying!).
As for cheaper, good quality alternatives, that's a tough question. There's a great website called 'Dog Food Advisor' that rates dog foods. It gives Royal Canin 3 out of 5 stars.
It gave Orijen 5 stars - you can buy that on Lazada but it's more expensive than Canin. The cheaper alternatives (Alpo and Pedigree) were both rated 1 star. So for the price, Royal Canin is probably the best quality.

Lazada's price is not 18-34% below retail. It's 18-34% below manufacturers list price.

My local shop's everyday price forRC is the same price as Lazada.

    OK, now I'm worried ????!

Edit - but the overflow pipe is underground?  At least appears to be so in my case as I can't see an open pipe above ground?

Toilets have an air vent. I suppose a snake could enter your toilet that way.

A simple fix would be to over the vent with a piece of common window screening.
