Thailand's Credit Card Industry Faces Toughest Test in 20 Years
OneMoreFarang replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
Not just here. And keeping up with the Joneses, who all maxed out their cards, makes the situation obviously not easier. When I was a little younger, I also paid huge amounts of interest to the credit card companies. I really don't want to think about how much money I wasted that way. -
Indian passengers turn Thai AirAsia plane into party zone - video

I find "answers" like this always funny. Do you really think I thought they have only overcrowded busses and trains in India? I have to admit I was never there, but it's a huge country with many people. It would be somehow strange if they would not use airplanes over there. So maybe my comment was more like a joke? -
And probably your behavior will help you to get older - without ice-cream and all that. Now, will my ice-cream cost me a year? Or 5 years? Or more? That is the question. Will I really think when I am 70 or 80 that I should have eaten less ice-cream? Maybe.

They just do. There is no Why. Don't search for Why. -
Maybe it was mentioned already. I suggest find a nice Thai girlfriend. Find one who knows how to live with 10k per month. Then she will live with you in luxury and take care of everything. I am serious. I am pretty sure you won't be able to do what she does. I.e. she will go to the fresh market and know the prices and what is in season and all that. I don't have to live on a small budget, but I am always amazed what my gf is able to buy at the market at very low prices.

Do you flaunt your wealth in Thailand?
OneMoreFarang replied to GammaGlobulin's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I didn't try to but the employees in my regular coffee shop decided I am rich. One day they mentioned something about me being rich and I asked them why they think that. The answer was prompt. Every day when I went there for coffee, I paid with a 1000B note or maybe 500B. That is something only rich people can do. 😉 -
The Profitable Global Climate Change Hoax/Con/Lie
OneMoreFarang replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Off the beaten track
I live in a high floor, I don't worry. But seriously, do you think anything drastic will happen in Bangkok in the next 30 years or so? Will all the streets be flooded all the time? Will they even be flooded one day a year because of climate change? The climate people do one thing very good. Making panic. And that's about it. -
Do you have a link to the candies? They look good.

The Profitable Global Climate Change Hoax/Con/Lie
OneMoreFarang replied to Red Phoenix's topic in Off the beaten track
The media, in general, publish what their customers consume. And there are obviously trends, like the climate crisis or catastrophe and all that. Most people are stupid. They want easy explanations and solutions to complex problems. Like climate reduced to CO2. If only that CO2 level would be fine, then all would be fine. No! It's not easy like that. But it's not only climate. I.e. it's interesting what western media report i.e. about Thailand. They only publish what fits into their agenda. Someone in Thailand did something stupid. Or a tourist was scammed or hurt. They could report 1000 other things, they could even report good things about Thailand. But they don't do that, it would disturb their reader to suddenly read something good about Thailand. Getting back to above. Now there is huge funding for anything climate related - as long as the scientists follow the agenda. There is no funding for scientists who are skeptical. And every media outlet has their climate experts - repeating the same things again and again. And obviously they are not interested in anything else. Personally, I just ignore most of the news. And it seems I don't miss much. -
What did you have for breakfast?
OneMoreFarang replied to BritManToo's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
Kai-Jeow crab meat on bread with butter and a little ketchup. And bread with cream cheese and avocado. (no, I am not a millennial) -
Exercising 3 - 5 days a week? No! I don't really want to change my diet - at least I don't want to delete things which I like. Years ago, I also drank a lot of coke and similar drinks. When I was diagnosed with diabetes, I stopped drinking coke and such drinks. To my surprise I don't miss them at all.

When is it too late? I have diabetes and I take the medicine. And I like ice-cream and cake. Obviously, I could stop eating ice-cream and cake. But what is life without them?

From whom do the youngsters learn to look at their "phones" all the time? Many learn it from their parents. And the worst parents are those who give the babies some screen so that the parents can play with their screens. Parents could teach their children to use those devices responsible. But how many parents use them responsible?

It's the same boarding a plane. I always wait until most people are already in the plane. Why should I stand in line or wait in the plane when I can sit outside more comfortable? But it seems many people want to be the first on board. Strange. -
Pattaya bar girl scams 10 million baht from South Korean man
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
She (probably) stopped working. And he had to support her family. It seems that is what he wanted. It seems to me many Thai girls are very smart in the way they get their money. I.e. they don't say: Pay me x and then I don't work here anymore. They just say that they are not happy working. And then the guy in shining armor tells them he can pay them so that she doesn't have to work. He offered to pay. Not she demanded to be paid. Big difference. And many of the sob stories from the family are the same pattern. She: My dad is in hospital. He: Can I help you? -
