  1. IMHO he is not smart, and he does not know or care about the difference between facts and opinions. It seems to me in the USA it's important to talk a lot, even if it doesn't make any sense, to get elected. But I have to admit I just don't understand those Americans. They are strange.
  2. Yes And then look how easy it is to shut down petrol fires and how almost impossible it is to do that with lithium batteries. I don't say all EV will burn. I don't day EVs burn more often than vehicles with combustion engines. But lithium battery fires can't easily be extinguished. They burn, and burn and burn, until there is nothing to burn anymore.
  3. I get more the idea that media here have some kind of "advice" not to report too much crime, especially against foreigners and tourist.
  4. The OP wrote: "I want to go electric for my next bike." Electric batteries are a fire risk, some more, some less. If you don't want to see this then you are ignorant. I know some people accept the risk, and if you have a garage built from stone then maybe worst case the scooter burns, and the garage survives. But there are also many cases of burning vehicles which ignited the home of people, etc. The OP should think about that before he buys one.
  5. There is certainly lots of crime which is not reported anywhere.
  6. And many are peaceful and friendly.
  7. There are facts. And there are opinions. Smart people know the difference. I am happy to discuss things with people with different opinions. We (can) learn from each other. But if people don't accept facts, then it doesn't make much sense to discuss anything with them.
  8. I don't know what was public knowledge. Let's say you are a rich person and Epstein wanted to discuss investments with you. And let's say he said come to my private island over a weekend and discuss things there. I imagine lots of people would love that idea. If it was at that time well known that illegal things happened on that island, why was he not arrested at that time? And looking at rich people i.e. on yachts, then it seems there are often lots of beautiful women. Because in general beautiful women like to hang around rich men...
  9. You could google it...
  10. I know that many foreigners work as nurses and in old people homes, etc. It seems they would have a huge shortage if those foreigners wouldn't do those jobs.
  11. Do you have a house and a garage which can't burn? Otherwise think twice if you want to risk your life and property.
  12. He died doing what he liked to do most. The perfect way to die.
  13. That would be great. But I think we should also keep in mind that not everybody who knew Epstein and not ever everybody who was on his island is guilty.
  14. Please also publish who created Epstein and set this all up. It seems his story just does not add up.
  15. It's again that stupid black and white view. Are there any good Muslims out there? Are there any bad white Christians out there? The word is not black and white. And it doesn't help to pretend it is. Simplistic thinking is a big problem, and it doesn't help at all.
  16. From here: https://www.perplexity.ai/search/would-central-europe-function-jeFSgFYdQISjBORJPrGGcg#0 "Without immigrants, Central Europe would likely face more severe labor shortages and demographic challenges, potentially exacerbating economic stagnation and pension system sustainability issues." It's some time ago that I lived in Europe. But with all the old white native Europeans, who will work and who will pay for the pensions? I am pretty sure politicians and economists see this problem, and this is why they allow/support immigration. Obviously, people prefer some immigrants and not so much some others. How would Europe cope without immigrants? How would old people react if the pensions would be lowered and if there wouldn't be anybody who works as their caretaker? That doesn't mean I want as much immigration as possible to Europe. But realistically they need immigrants.
  17. The money must be transferred in EUR or USD (...) to the Thai bank account. Years ago, I transferred it to my SCB THB bank account, and the exchange rate was reasonable. You have to say the reason is something like "purchase condominium". Youd don't have to specify and name or address of the condo you want to buy.
  18. Is that your experience from companies in Thailand? You can't really record every single scratch before you rent. It is well known that Pattaya (motorcycle) rent establishments often "find" scratches and then the customer should pay. And with the engine it's similar. What you write will likely apply to well-known international rental companies, but I am not so sure if everybody works like that. Often rental companies keep the passport of the renter. If they demand money and you need that passport urgently, i.e. to fly somewhere, then you have a problem. That is well-known.
  19. No, it's not comedy. That is Trumps usual behavior. It's sad, not funny.
  20. And what are the conditions if they see a scratch when you return it? Or the engine has a problem? If it sounds too good to be true, then probably it is too good to be true.
  21. I agree. They are fresh and cheap and taste good at the fresh market.
  22. That won't happen in the next 5 years.
  23. Don't forget self driving cars, AI, etc.
  24. Are you concerned the maid will hide your tool box under her skirt? It's not too difficult to work out why people steal small valuable things.
