Not really. People who can't count sell to people who can't count. Just tell them it's better and a special deal and all that and enough people will buy it. I remember going to Emporium looking for shoes. Some "sales guy" tells me about that special 50% promotion, now the shoes cost only 7000B - after discount. I didn't even try to tell him that I don't care how much discount they pretend to give me. Too expensive is too expensive.

It is certainly a possibility that Putin tells Trump what to do. But I wouldn't bet on it. Trump just doesn't think and act like a normal human being. And it seems most of the time he has no idea about future consequences of his actions and/or he just doesn't care. Maybe Trump just thinks he will get the rare earth from Ukraine and let Putin does whatever he wants. And I am pretty sure many Americans couldn't care less what happens in Ukraine or Europe. It's so far away and all that.

They should be old enough to know that you better make sure you have a decent health cover when you travel.

I am sure many tourists have a good time. But bad things happen and often they are not published. So, who really knows how many "incidents" happen all the time? Back home nobody would worry to take a taxi. Nobody would worry getting drugged. But here those are real risks. How often do nasty things happen? I don't know. But they certainly do happen too often.

Americans had 3 years to lock him up. They didn't. Sad.

That's what we though last time. Like, they can't possibly be so stupid to vote again for that guy... Unfortunately, I think the Europe American divide is so large that Europe first has to learn to defend themselves. And maybe after they did that, decades later, the relation to the USA might improve again. But I wouldn't bet on that. The USA is on the way down and desperate people do desperate things.

An acquaintance from back home told me his 19 year old daughter and her female friend will visit Bangkok sometime soon. And he asked me for advise. Some thinks came to my mind like be very careful when you cross any road (including with green light), be careful with overcharging drivers and don't get drunk and trust any guy to take care of you. And then I thought about riding apps like Bolt. But I have no idea if they require a local phone number. And then, I don't know if tourists can easily get a local SIM card. And can tourists somehow pay with QR code? And how is the situation at the airport now? Can new tourists rely on taxi-meter from the airport? Or is that still a big scam? Instead of everybody adding a few tips here, do you know any good websites with good advice for first time tourists, and especially girls? Thanks

Imagine someone would burn your house down. And all your neighbors would say: We don't care, it was his house, not our houses.

There is a huge difference. The countries you mention are part of NATO. And anybody who starts a war against a NATO member knows that they start a war against NATO. In such a war all NATO countries could join the fight on day one. Ukraine is not part of NATO. Other countries helped because they saw the unfairness of the invasion. They didn't have to help. That is a huge difference. And obviously if many NATO countries would fight with all their military, then that would be WWIII. Nobody wants that.

With some posters I agree with your impression. But the question is if people personally care about Ukraine. How many of us ever visited that region? How many of us would know if Ukraine ever existed? How many would feel any personal difference if Ukraine would not exist anymore tomorrow? I guess the answer to all these questions is: few. I am sure many of us would love to see a fair solution for any conflict in this world (and other conflicts). But in reality, we know often there are no fair solutions. And if it is far enough away from us like in the next village or at the other end of the world we don't really care.

"We" have the money. The question is how the money is spent. Imagine if any European country would be at war (for most of them this is theory). How much money would they suddenly find to fight the enemy? And how much money would they suddenly admit should they have spent previously to avoid such situation.

I don't have the numbers, but I remember reading articles that end the end of the day many immigrants in Europe do actually work and pay taxes. And because many of them are young they help to keep the pensions going. I think many European politicians have basically two choices: Let the foreigners in or reduce the pensions, increase the retirement age, etc. The voters don't want A and they don't want B. But in reality, they have to accept that having everything just doesn't work. I think it is obvious that many foreigners in Thailand work without work permit or have not really enough money to retire here and pay hospital bills, etc. In other words, they are illegal in Thailand - but obviously they want to stay here. But back home, ...

There is this table with popular contributors, and I am more often than not on that table. That reminds me how much time I waste on this forum. What I find most annoying are the stupid and ignorant people. We can all have different opinions about a lot of things. But it seems more and more people here just don't accept facts. How can you argue with anybody who does not accept facts? I think for the future I should only participate in DIY questions or something like that. Let's see.

Where did you read that I blame her for her parents. I bet her father or other people in her life told her not to do certain risky things. She obviously didn't listen.
