  1. Pretty fun? So, how often did you repeat this or similar fun trips on a scooter? Yes, the brakes and suspension don't die within an 11-hour trip. The question is how comfortable is such a suspension after an hour or two or ten?
  2. I never paid more than 200B on the roadside. Mostly 100B did the job.
  3. It is not my intention to play that who has the bigger bike game. It doesn't make sense. My comments and questions were about: Which bike is suitable for which task? My 390 is perfect for the city. I could use it to ride 500km in one day, but I wouldn't. There are obviously uses for little scooters or big sport bikes and choppers. But they are different. But then, you know that already.
  4. That is the first what I do when I see a red light in front of me. Look in the mirror. Can I brake without anybody bumping into me?
  5. Maybe something like this? Sorry, I have no idea what is actually is.
  6. It seems Alibaba thought these things are appropriate for this thread...
  7. Why would anybody pay a police fine into a personal bank account? It doesn't make any sense. And the police officer must be also mentally challenged. Receiving bribes per traceable bank transfers. What a glorious idea.
  8. I didn't start with those manly attributes. I get your point. There is a wide range of bikes available between a 110cc scooter and a big Harley. I ride a KTM Duke 390 most of the time in the middle of Bangkok. It's basically the frame of a 125cc KTM bike with a 390cc engine, somewhere >40HP. And it has good suspension and good brakes. I didn't buy a bigger bike because in the middle of Bangkok there wouldn't be any advantage. And I didn't buy a little scooter because the bad brakes, suspension, etc.
  9. Clinton? Is that not that woman who lost against the worst GOP candidate ever? Maybe she should crawl into a basement somewhere and hope nobody will remember her.
  10. Which mission? a) Shopping around the corner? b) Or a trip of several hundred kilometers? a) Yes b) No. Only if the alternative is walking. Decent brakes and suspension are just not possible for cheap scooters. And (almost) nobody would buy an expensive 1xx cc scooter.
  11. Having the choice of your two bikes, I would use the CRF for those trails. I could also use my Duke 390, but I would change my tires from street to enduro tires first. Or I would buy a small dirt bike if I would live in that area.
  12. Please have a look at the posts above your post. You will see that many other members describe their life with bigger bikes. And the last post above yours is a story with the last bike being a "BMW C600 (It's actually a 650 twin) maxi scooter". For me the summary of all those posts is: when I wasn't old, I liked big bikes. Now I am old I ride a scooter. That's obviously ok. I understand that old men do that. Which answers my question from above.
  13. Ok, yes, I understand that park. Shopping around the corner. But the original post also incudes something like this: Why do that on a scooted when can afford to do it on a real bike?
  14. I use such a "drive" for drive C with OS, programs, etc. For other drives, like video storage etc. traditional HDDs are just fine. The movies don't play faster if I use an SSD.
  15. You can buy 6TB for about 5000B. How much storage do you need? And would you think it's too expensive if it would cost 7000B? For anybody who used PCs for years, any storage is cheap now compared to year ago.
  16. Yes, you/we don't need 650cc, I understand that part. But it's still nice to have decent brakes, decent suspension, etc. And as far as I see scooters don't have any of that.
  17. I understand that part. He has to be present but is not allowed to say or so what he wants to. So, the best way for him to spend that time it to sleep.
  18. I posted my question because I try to understand why you would buy and ride such scooters. I tried one of those things and personally I don't like it. I understand when people ride them who don't know, and don't want to learn, how to use a clutch and gears. I understand when old people ride them - they couldn't handle anything bigger. I have difficulties understanding why anybody to knows how to ride a bike and is able to do that prefers a scooter like above. Why don't you enlighten me - and probably many other like me? What is it what you like with those things? Little engine, bad brakes, bad suspension, what's to like about that?
  19. Why now a scooter? If you 70 or older, then I might understand that. But otherwise, IMHO, just buy a real bike. And those big boxes on the rear make the handling a lot worse.
  20. And up country everybody seems to use their own spoon or their fingers for everything. But then again, I guess she talks about the good, educated Thai people, just like herself. 😉
  21. Yes, Trump is worse, a lot worse. But some people, maybe people who watch only fox, see how Biden behaves, and those people think: That is not good, we want someone who doesn't behave like a fragile old man. Trump is not much younger, but he shows (at least as far as I see) a lot more energy. He knows how to get the crowd moving in his MAGA shows. Does that make him a better president? No. But is explains why lots of people prefer him.
  22. Rule number whatever: Don't try to treat your tilac as an equal, like feminists in western countries pretend to be. You are the boss! She wants it like that, because she doesn't want to think, because thinking is headache. You tell her to jump, and she jumps. And both of you are happy.
