Thai Navy's Submarine Plans Stalled Pending Feasibility Study
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
That kind of makes sense before spending huge amounts of money. I hope that study and its participants will be concerned about Thailand's security and not so much about possible commissions... -
Thai Government Vows Proactive Efforts to Safeguard Buddhism
OneMoreFarang replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
I don't know much about Buddhism, but it seems to me mostly a good philosophy. I think people only should become monks if they want to learn and live life as a Buddhist. If they don't want that, then just don't join the club. It seems to me too many Thais become monks because it is expected from them, not because they care. -
That sounds strange to me. What is the idea about getting kids for as cheap as possible? Then, what do you do with the kid(s)? Who will raise them? Who will pay for their school? Will they have only a father or also a mother? As far as I see raising kids properly is expensive, also in Thailand. Just the school fees for decent schools are scary. Keeping those future costs in mind 100k or 1m for the "production" of the kids is just a small part of the all over cost.

Denver's nut job mayor to head the resistance.

It seems you still have hope for that place. -
No problem. If the battery is old or bad that could be a problem. Then just charge the battery or start the bike with a kick starter, if it has one. If you stop it for a long time, then after a while the gasoline is not good anymore. In that case just drain it and replace it with new gasoline when you want to use the bike again.

Getting Old: Stoic About It or Endless Whinger?
OneMoreFarang replied to JK-Trilly's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub

In principle I agree with you. But it seems there are often problems with the management. With some managements they are not allowed to give out any information about what is available. With some managements they give out information, but very selective. When I bought my condo I receive the information that this condo is available from the condominium manager. She introduced me to the owner, that took about a minute. Later the owner who sold it to me told me he has to pay 3% commission to the agent = condominium manager. She received her salary as the manager and then cash in private commission from the owner. I asked him why he pays the manager who works anyhow in that place. And he told me otherwise she would not mention his condo is for sale. And exactly that is what I found out about another condo in the same building. It was for sale and the management knew about that. But somehow, they forgot to mention this condo because the owner didn't want to give the management of the building any money to tell people that this is for sale. So, getting back to this thread. If you want that the condo management tells people that your place is for sale, then expect to pay them commission for that.

Sorry, no info about an agent, but a little general advice. From my experience buying in Bangkok, I was surprised how many owners don't even try to present their property in the best possible light. Often, they are dirty, damaged furniture, etc. It should be obvious, but I suggest make sure your property looks good and smells good (coffee ground helps). That will make your property already better than many others which people looked at.

Do you know the important part of above? It's the fact that Biden struggle with the decision. As father, he obviously wants to support his son, as president, he knows that he shouldn't use his position for personal reasons. For Trump this would be much easier. He pardons just everybody who he likes and who gives him something in return.
-
The US citizens vote for Trump, correct. And he should be their president. But that should have nothing to do with any legal cases. Only because someone will become president is no reason to ignore his crimes and other legal cases against him. But then, in your case, you seem to be not even able to acknowledge that there are lots of legal outstanding cases against him.

When Willful Ignorance is a Way of Life

Please provide a short summary. My AI refuses to do that because your text is too long. -
Microsoft has a huge mouse. It is very ergonomic because it does not force your hand in a unnatural position. I used them for years (before I switched to above, previous post).

Logitech Ergo - the have a couple of models. I use them since years and I really like them. Other options are here all lines up with criteria for you to choose. https://www.logitech.com/th-th/products/mice.html As far as I remember they cost something like 3000B, which is obviously expensive compared to other options. Personally, I think it's a good investment to spend 10B per day for a comfortable hassle-free mouse (and keyboard, etc.)

Plan B Countries - Any Advice or Ideas ?
OneMoreFarang replied to Gold2005's topic in General Topics
Not really. I think in some countries we feel soon comfortable, in others not so much. If we feel comfortable, then we should obviously do some research before we possibly move there. Many years I made holiday in Thailand, and I liked it, and I thought about moving to Thailand. And then I checked about visa regulations, work opportunities and all that. I find it strange when some people go to other countries to work there, but didn't even check how they can legally do that. Some with visa regulations for retirement, etc. -
Plan B Countries - Any Advice or Ideas ?
OneMoreFarang replied to Gold2005's topic in General Topics
Just visit some other countries for a few days or weeks and look how you feel. I.e. I visited a few neighboring countries. I kind of like it in Phnom Phen. Yangon was also not too bad a couple of years ago. I don't think I would like to live in Malaysia. Just try! -
Marrying a Thai Wife: Overrated or Underrated?
OneMoreFarang replied to SoCal1990's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
If you fall in love with a Thai woman, then spend time with her. And some more time with her. You don't have to marry her. And try to open your eyes and look at reality and not your dream. -
Montreal Erupts in Violent Anti-Israel Protests
OneMoreFarang replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Those protests should happen all the time all over the world - obviously preferred peacefully. Too many politicians are scared to speak out against the genocide in Gaza - because they fear the Israeli/Jewish lobbies. Jews were killed by the Nazis, and that was very bad. But that doesn't give Israel the right to do whatever they want. And obviously what they do only works because the USA supports them without restrictions. It's a sad world where some countries/politicians can do whatever they want, and for others there are right away big punishments if they only think about doing certain things. I.e. Isreal has nuclear weapons, and nobody cares. Iran maybe wants them and that is a huge issue.- 93 replies

That is certainly one of the options. It would be an interesting study if what people expected in Thailand actually happened or how their motivation and life changed. If you would have told me in my first month of Thailand that I would end up with the same gf for more than a decade and at the same time f@#$# hundreds of other girls, I guess I would have said that would never happen. And then reality happened...
