  1. I know that as a general rule, but it seems sometimes it works when you give her the opportunity. If she is interested in him, then she will know for sure he is also interested if he gives her his contact details. Even if she doesn't contact him, her behavior in the shop might change. I don't see a downside of trying above.
  2. Maybe look at her hands. Does she have a wedding ring? I have to say personally I never look at such little details, but I am sure sometimes it makes sense to look. I think the best approach is to give her a business card or a piece of paper with your name and LINE ID on it. If she is interested, then she might contact you. And if not, then you didn't embarrass her too much. Obviously, it also makes a big difference if she is alone in that shop or who else is around. Good luck! Only people who try have a chance to win. Go for it!
  3. How could that be possible. He should stop whining like a little girl.
  4. Unfortunately, I am not surprised. It seems there are lots of mothers out there who see their daughter as assets which have to be rented or sold to the highest bidders. Next step would probably for the mother to send or sell the daughter into prostitution so that the mother will get rich. I don't know how normal this situation is in Thailand, but it is certainly far away from unnormal. And I am sure often neighbors, friends and others know and don't do anything. They don't want to get involved. And to be fair, I don't know what neighbors could achieve i.e. by going to the police.
  5. Thanks He is my best friend. And that fact makes me think about this situation a little more than it would in other cases. He is smart and I am sure he thought about possible consequences. And he is discrete. I don't worry too much about him, but it could have been that some members here would have responded with life changing stories which should not be ignored. So far, nothing surprising came up. Good.
  6. I had problem with the K-Bank app. Sometimes it didn't work. I called their support and they told me I should switch off WLAN on my phone and use the internet connection from my phone company (in my case DTAC). I did that and it worked fine. Later I tried again with WLAN enabled. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. Until now it always worked when I used my phone internet connection. Maybe try that.
  7. I was told some of them want a handsome young man.
  8. That kind of makes sense before spending huge amounts of money. I hope that study and its participants will be concerned about Thailand's security and not so much about possible commissions...
  9. I don't know much about Buddhism, but it seems to me mostly a good philosophy. I think people only should become monks if they want to learn and live life as a Buddhist. If they don't want that, then just don't join the club. It seems to me too many Thais become monks because it is expected from them, not because they care.
  10. That sounds strange to me. What is the idea about getting kids for as cheap as possible? Then, what do you do with the kid(s)? Who will raise them? Who will pay for their school? Will they have only a father or also a mother? As far as I see raising kids properly is expensive, also in Thailand. Just the school fees for decent schools are scary. Keeping those future costs in mind 100k or 1m for the "production" of the kids is just a small part of the all over cost.
  11. I suggest you try that with your mates. I am sure they will all tell you what a great guy you are...
  12. I think there is a huge difference if emotions are involved or not. It seems many guys, and I include my younger self in that group, just like to have sex with lots of sexy girls. Ram, bam, yeah, next one. There are often no, or few emotions involved. And because no emotions are involved, this activity does not really compete with the loving wife at home. Because with husband and wife there are emotion involved. If suddenly the time with the sexy girl also contains emotions, now then it gets difficult.
  13. It seems you still have hope for that place.
  14. No problem. If the battery is old or bad that could be a problem. Then just charge the battery or start the bike with a kick starter, if it has one. If you stop it for a long time, then after a while the gasoline is not good anymore. In that case just drain it and replace it with new gasoline when you want to use the bike again.
  15. Did you get a place in that top western university because of some DEI "qualifications"? It seems you are not the smartest cookie in the jar. Why would you want an old woman with kids? You should be able to find some nice 20 year old hottie.
  16. In principle I agree with you. But it seems there are often problems with the management. With some managements they are not allowed to give out any information about what is available. With some managements they give out information, but very selective. When I bought my condo I receive the information that this condo is available from the condominium manager. She introduced me to the owner, that took about a minute. Later the owner who sold it to me told me he has to pay 3% commission to the agent = condominium manager. She received her salary as the manager and then cash in private commission from the owner. I asked him why he pays the manager who works anyhow in that place. And he told me otherwise she would not mention his condo is for sale. And exactly that is what I found out about another condo in the same building. It was for sale and the management knew about that. But somehow, they forgot to mention this condo because the owner didn't want to give the management of the building any money to tell people that this is for sale. So, getting back to this thread. If you want that the condo management tells people that your place is for sale, then expect to pay them commission for that.
  17. You definitely need a bigger bike or bigger elbows of something like that. 😉
  18. IMHO often it does not make sense to ask any questions. Because many Thais will answer whatever they think we want to hear. Like: When will this be ready? Tomorrow, sure. They know already it won't be ready by tomorrow, but they think we want to hear good news, like it's ready by tomorrow. I guess the above also leads to the problem that many don't really know a "correct" answer. Because they never thought about giving a correct answer. They only give the answer the other wants to know.
  19. Sorry, no info about an agent, but a little general advice. From my experience buying in Bangkok, I was surprised how many owners don't even try to present their property in the best possible light. Often, they are dirty, damaged furniture, etc. It should be obvious, but I suggest make sure your property looks good and smells good (coffee ground helps). That will make your property already better than many others which people looked at.
  20. Do you know the important part of above? It's the fact that Biden struggle with the decision. As father, he obviously wants to support his son, as president, he knows that he shouldn't use his position for personal reasons. For Trump this would be much easier. He pardons just everybody who he likes and who gives him something in return.
  21. That reminds me of when I read an article here that there was a motorcycle accident somewhere. The article has often few details. And then there are always many comments from people who somehow know he was drunk, driving too fast, had no helmet, and many other details. It's just speculation, but some people just "think" they know the details. My opinion about that and your post above is that we should just accept that we often don't know. Sure, we can speculate a lot, but we still don't know. I.e. maybe someone tells us he couldn't call us because he lost his phone or the battery was empty. Is it true? Maybe, maybe not, we just don't know. If there are important reasons, i.e. maybe we think someone wants to get our money, then sure, we can and should analyze the situation in more detail. But if someone just didn't great us, forget about it. Maybe next time he will do it. There is no reason waste time worrying about it.
