  1. You're not suggesting most of the Thai trans were off duty policemen, surely?
  2. If you dressed up in a frock, would you be available for hire?
  3. I bought an Electrolux portable, single hob unit. Sits on top of the worktop or old hob. Have used it continually for maybe 2 years. Got it in Homepro. Ideal for studio flat.
  4. I can vouch for that. Talk about the world dropping out etc....
  5. I was under the impression non magnetic metals won't work on an induction hob.
  6. Very unlikely that will happen. What an agent gets paid gets spread around. Could well pay an IO's kid's school fees.
  7. My non stick frying pan cooks much faster in the middle on an induction hob. Eg scrambled egg.
  8. I was given a tip for testing the quality of stainless steel. Any magnetism was a contraindicator as to quality. I had a lot of ss work done at my house 15 years ago. I tested the steel while it was still being shipped. No magnetism. 15 years later, no rust. But induction requires magnetism, so I guess the opposite is true. 🤔
  9. I'm with 3bb. For about 10 days on and off I've had the dreaded blue buffering circle going round and round. My IPTV had become completely unwatchable, so my provider did numerous checks and reported their servers were working normally and offered a print out of their output speeds. They reckoned my bandwidth was being throttled. So today 3bb showed up, and last thing the engineer said was, he'd removed all blocks and limiters on bandwidth. I'm on the 300 Mbps package. So it suggests 3bb where throttling. I'll know as I go.
  10. Trad Bangkok Hospital. Maybe 6 or 7 years ago. About 8k THB IIRC. Stayed in overnight, which wasn't included, and in most cases, probably not necessary but at doctor's discretion, and state of wallet. Useful if you have inpatient cover. Was given a DVD of the whole procedure, as was out cold. Later found a copy on .... No, only kidding. Wouldn't surprise me though.
  11. I was one who originally spoke out against the perceived actions of this guy. But now.... Are you serious? How many foreigners would they have to check, and how? And now politicians taking the opportunity to cash in, like Thai national security is at stake. Considering the equally bad behaviour by his Thai wife, where's the move against her? It's The Wicker Man all over again. Probably have to demolish every villa on Phuket and arrest every developer. It'll stop when they realise their own villas are encroaching, and the land titles were issued by a Thai land officer, and the villas built by Thai developers. No, I don't condone any alleged assaults, physical or verbal. The latter by both him and his wife were appalling. But now the pitchfork brigade are out in force. A whole different story. Total hysteria.
  12. It can't prevent it, but definitely give early warning. And you were conscious the whole time?
  13. They should video the whole procedure and provide with you a copy on DVD along with the report. SOP. Literally!
  14. You don't know if it's broken until you check.
  15. Look for the induction hob symbol. I bought mine in Lotus. Big C have them too. Tefal are a reliable brand I think.
  16. You can do 90 day online. Really couldn't be simpler. They even send out an email well in advance letting you know when it's due.
  17. I have the same on AIS in my phone. Plus the same deal in my house router 300km away to relay motion detect pictures from my Chinese CCTV cams to me wherever I am.
  18. The driver has always asked about tolls in my experience using the same trip. Maybe 1200 excluding tolls.
  19. Quite honestly, I don't see the point. Wise does everything I need without VPNs, fake addresses or fake phone numbers.
  20. "Hardly surprising as your comment indicates that you are or have been a taxi driver" I was a London cabbie. Almost every journey was on the meter. It took me 2 1/2 years to get my badge. Losing it for whatever reason would have been a total disaster. Arguing with customers, fighting, overcharging etc etc would have jeopardised it. I tend to pitch in when I see a lot of ignorant comments about taxi drivers. How they should learn English, how by nature they're dishonest scammers, like they're some kind of low life scumbags. So don't use them! They're not really in a position fight back.
  21. So what did they think they were agreeing to when the driver explained the different routes? As you say, trying to piece together the whole story is impossible. But there's no doubt if they came on toll roads, they should have paid the tolls, if that's what they agreed to, and she should have collected the money at each toll. They slipped away, and she's presumably left out of pocket. Google translate doesn't always work. But she felt aggrieved enough to wait for the police. If it was a scam, and she never actually came on the toll road, would she have bothered? If that was the case, well then she's got no sympathy from me.
  22. And? Doesn't matter where you purchase them. They're just SIM cards offered for sale by a retail outlet. Download the app for your provider and take a look.
  23. But it's you who are falling for that theory. How are you going to mitigate it?
  24. Yeah? And how will you recognise it?
