  1. Yes, leaving the Philippines for especially filipinas is notoriously difficult. No idea why they do that. But also foreigners here who have Filipina gfs have a lot of problems getting them out of the Philippines and into Thailand. No amount of bank statements, cash, covering letters, addresses will do. You're just immediately singled out for extremely harsh and unfair treatment. Maybe because the average filipina is 10 times smarter than her Thai equivalent.
  2. Online check-in? Sure, web check-in lines might be shorter, which is about the only advantage. But the airlines can't issue boarding passes as far as I know, and if you've check-in bags you have to go to the check-in counter in any case. Also the check-in staff check any entry requirements at your destination like onward travel bookings.
  3. Fatal attraction between motorbikes and concrete poles. What's the answer? Has anybody here had a near miss or collision with a pole while out and about? Do these things move around like in a computer game? Sure, some poles are stuck some way away from the side of the road. Using a phone at 30 or 40 kmh, enough to kill you, not possible, surely? Never ride within 2m of the edge of the road. You'll end up in a hole, off the road, wrapped around a pole or wires, or banging into the back of an unlit stationary tank carrier. It's all part of the Thai driving experience (all rites (sic) reserved).
  4. Yes, groups with multiple passports are a nightmare.
  5. It's not just in airports. Shop in any supermarket here and 9/10 you'll see long queues at the 3 checkouts that are open, while 17 others are shut, staff on phones etc etc. Managers probably don't even bother turning up for work most of the time. They're the ones they should go after. They're the ones responsible.
  6. None of your business!
  7. Yes, quite so. Poor overworked police. Must be the only police force in the world that works 9-5. They're good at tracking suspects on CCTV though. Always seem to be able to locate suspects even in the next town. I don't suppose we'll get any follow ups on this.
  8. Yeah, well on my mobile there's just a small "Bangkok" upper left. I never noticed it before.
  9. So where're the tm30s? Names, nationalities, passport numbers. Isn't that what the much maligned tm30 is for? Shouldn't be diffilicult to track them. Straight to CM airport I guess. An aborted scam trip maybe. Were there any SIMs? Were they registered? Where were they bought? What network? Were any calls made?
  10. Does it show the forum anywhere? I can't see it. And lower Sukhumvit? You guys are talking Sois 4 to 11. That's top end of Sukhumvit in my book. After the flyover it's Ploenchit.
  11. And cause harm to society without permission.
  12. Philippines for example. Myanmar. Cambodia. Lao. What goes around....
  13. Sukhumvit where? Pattaya, Bangkok?
  14. Seems a very meagre proportion. 90% Thai then? That's a lot of money slushing around out here. How many were nominee buyers for Chinese and Russians? 50%? It's the only way Chinese can do business here, and it's very iffy. Maybe crypto? No links to data.
  15. Wise provides sort code, account no, bank address, IBAN and all the rest. I have both £ and $ accounts. But no interest if you're registered in Thailand. Mostly EU and US.
  16. Health supplements. To date not had a problem over maybe 3 years.
  17. Only suggested Google for reference. You'll need to shop on Indiamart. Postage is quite high. I added 350 tabs of Bisoprolol which is not expensive here, but just to make up the weight. All told, the p & p was $26. She has a Wise account and is on WhatsApp. She sends photos of all boxes, packaging, lot nos, expiry dates etc. It goes RMS, so registered with tracking number. Approximately 10 days to my post office at Chaiyapreuk. I can supply her details on a pm if you like. She speaks, or types rather, good English. But with Indiamart, you will get a lot of replies if you type in what you're looking for. India is the world's pharmacy! Shop around. You might well find better.
  18. You can source original, but I buy generic. Rivasmart. See on Google. $82.50 for 350 tabs. No import/customs problems with my contact. YMMV. I usually order all my meds at the same time, and for a mate. Saves on postage.
  19. Get it from Indiamart. A fraction of the price. Been using it for years.
  20. He quit the chair of Pork Pie as promised. He probably would have done that anyway to make way for Nepobabe Paetongtarn.
  21. 10,000 THB for your dead child. I'm weeping.
  22. Meanwhile they're lining up legislation to outlaw a daily spliff. 2 meth pills v 2 spliffs. Which causes more problems? The man's a fool.
  23. Thanks to everyone who replied. As a temporary measure I've switched on subs. They're slightly intrusive if you're focused on the screen, but definitely an improvement. As an avid YouTube for music user, headphones are absolutely essential. So I might well explore some Bluetooth headsets/buds or whatever, in that line. Multipurpose.
  24. There's no such thing as the Liquor Policy Committee, and no decision has been made. Totally fake misleading "news"!
