  1. If you are done with Thailand, why bother to post on TV?

Do you expect those who love it here to join you?

    Bye bye!

I once thought I would love to live in Thailand, that was back in the early 70's. Thailand is so polluted, corrupted, and against any foreigner that I would not live here either!!! I visit my son and grandson here in Thailand and every year it gets worse. The immigration and the BIB are always changing the rules year to year and it seems like they do not want foreigners here. By the way my wife is Thai and I met and married her in America. After her parents died even she does not want to come here. Now with her Parkinsons it is way better for her in America. At least the Docs in the US have a computer system to check before they prescribe meds. I had a shoulder problem and gave the doc here at Bangkok Hospital a list of my medications. he prescribed 400mg of Celbrex which I checked first with Web Md in America, then called my family doctor. He confirmed had I taken that med with my blood pressure meds, I would of had aheart attack. If you want to be a drunk and run the hookers then that is fine for you!!! I don't need a daughter looking girl friend or wife to make me feel good!!!! The only reason my son uses Thailand as his temporary residence is its proxcimity to his work. After being here for 5 years even he is looking to other countries in the Orient. Enjoy your life here in LOS but watch your back and your money!!!!! w00t.gif

  2. The sooner that civilians are allowed to carry arms the better what is needed is a Thai NRA, no more punch ups.

More guns will equal more deaths by gun violence, domestic abuse and accidental firing. Thailand does not need the NRA which is the lobbying arm of the American gun manufacturers messing in their country. We Americans should not import this cultural defect to other countries.

Since all these crazy people on ice, yaba etc, usually have guns or other weapons. they use them to rob people and kill people. I wish I could buy a gun here in Thailand legally. I know I can buy one but not legally. Now that the Aussies had to give up there guns see what will happen!!! according to Yahoo news the murder rate in Australia has already gone up 3.5%. Now the innocent civilians can no longer protect themselves.. Hopefully this hostage deal in Sydney is an isolated incident but wait and see. Consealed permit in America is great and most of my friends either have it or agree with it. Come to my house and try something in America and you will get a hollow point surprise, right between the eyes. thumbsup.gif

  3. When economies buy dollars the gold price goes down. When there is no faith in the dollar the gold prices rise. 40 years ago Thai Gold was priced at $250.00 per Baht weight about 7,500 Baht.

It was 8k bht only 9 years ago.

I think the first said price of gold 40 years ago is way off!!! ! bought 1 baht gold chain for 500 baht in 1970. It was 18k and the baht was 104 to us $5.00

This was outside the main gate at Ubon RTAFB. 24 bottles of coke was 10 baht. I rented a bungalow, 2 bedroom with bath and kitchen, plus guest area

for $25.oo a month!!! The good old days!!thumbsup.gif

  4. Unless there is some real evidence against this man, I would say leave him alone.

I'm sure he's done nothing illegal in Thailand, and whilst it's suggested he has travelled on a fake passport it's more likely its a real passport that he obtained using an alternate name.

If he escaped prison in 2004 and has been at liberty ever since then he's done very well.. perhaps in that time he has become a reformed character... it does happen.

Dream on, Terrorists do not REFORM!!!! facepalm.gif

  5. I was under the believe that Proper DNA tests take a fair time to process and should be done in Forensic Laboratory.....all this rushed testing is crap and the pommy cops should insist on a proper forensic test, not just some local thai hospital.....

    http://intrensic.blogspot.com/2009/06/why-does-dna-testing-take-so-long.html ..confirms this....thumbsup.gif

This is the 21st Century. In many labs all ower the world, DNA test results are available within a few hours, if using the most advanced methods: http://www.angliadna.co.uk/Express-DNA-Testing

Oh yes ! Thailand has the most advanced technology. I forgot that ! Sorry, I didn't mean to question the Thai superiority....sorry...

    Thais cured EBOLA last week.

Thais didn't crash that NASA rocket. They can't spell ROCKET.

Thais can do DNA in less time than any country on the planet.

They have secret brains that we don't know about.

The brains are hidden in the WALLET!!! wink.png

  6. Shocking! Appalling.

    There are sickos everywhere.

Of course the media is going to jump on this and of course there will be an immediate assumption of Islamist-related bile. I suspect though that this will turn out to be simply a sick man.

What was the first thing to spring to mind for you? For me, and I am sure many others, was the question, "Was he muslim?"

Or was he a convert??? is he black????? or just a ny nutjob???? blink.png

  7. "Willem Gerard Knoppien and Thai accomplice Thanes Bualuang"

Its good to see that the Thai Court has done the wright thing and upheld the sentence.

These sick disturbed animals, have no place in human society as they can not possibly be Human, how many other children did these two dogs victimise before getting caught?

How can a normal thinking human get any pleasure out of victimising an innocent, defenceless child??

If I were the judge, my sentence would be "Give them one hundred lashes of the rattan and then tie them to an ants nest and leave them there to rot".

I agree with the punishment but what is the difference of a 60-70 year old going to essan and buying a 14-15 year old girl??? making her his sex slave???

is it the price paid or the fact it was a girl? I'm sure she is just as defensless as the boy!!! sad.png

  8. Well written op. Thailand is a racist and xenophobic culture, there is no getting around it. You mentioned the pecking order in Thailand and unfortunately for you, Indian tourists tend to be placed at the bottom of this order.

I'll echo what others have said above and give you credit for keeping a cool head.

First this is not Canada, it is Thailand and they make there own rules. I am white American and have had Thais pick me for seating for a movie or dinner

in front of some Blacks that made a big deal, but the Thais ignored them. Also was picked ahead of some drunk British guys who did not care at all.

They could have put allot more adjectives to khon khaek so I would not be so upset. I was stationed at Ubon R.T.A.F.B. back in 70-72 and heard the

words khon khaek in reference to the tailors on the base and they did not get upset at all. wink.png

  9. Yes this murderer's story is as believable as the easter bunny. Hope they get the death penalty.

Yes, especially the part about him fainting, notice a hammer was nearby. there was no comment about this being the second Japanese husband to die while married to her. she got 6 million baht insurance because the old Japanese man fell down the stairs???? so much for the BIB in the first investigation.

Surprised they did not call the first death a suicide. facepalm.gif

  10. Finally I learned where they breed lonely old men turning into customers:

most foreign men marrying women from north east Thailand came from the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden and Switzerland.

Americans know better!! No new house for the G/F, no new "Family" Store, and last but not least, no new Pickup for daddy.thumbsup.gif

Ok to have some fun, but don't be a fool as seen here many times on TV.clap2.gif

  11. Why do you claim Thailand has more to attrack professional expats than H.K.? Would think the reverse is more accurate

A lot of HK expats envy Thailand's (perceived) better quality of life.

On the other hand, at a professional level, Thailand is seen by many as a dumping ground for washed-up expats and those who couldn't make it in more competitive places like Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul or Singapore.

Actually it's probably a chicken/egg problem. There is not world class expat because there is no world class employers who are not here because they can't find world class expats who are not here because there is no world class employers who are not here ....

And maybe - just maybe - Thailand (and other places) offer lifestyle options that a great many people much prefer over what is offered by HK.......

You mean like letting a 70 year old buy a 15 year old in Thailand???? w00t.gif
