  1. What! Are you saying western women only wear the clothes they do because they are forced to by western men? Unless you are talking about clothes designers, which are both men and women, so I don't see your point.
  2. Western tolerance is seen as weakness, and something to be taken advantage of, and there are plenty of examples of that in many European countries. Like having a film banned by a cinema chain because it offended a small group of radical muslims.
  3. It' just a slow and stealthy attack on French and western values, the thin edge of the wedge. This constant catering to ethnic groups is going to be the downfall of the original culture.
  4. That may have been true in the past for Christianity, but I think women are now treated equally, can't say the same for Muslims.
  5. Are you saying Christianity imposes the same restrictions on women as Muslims?
  6. Their country they can enforce any rules they want. See if they allow a woman to wear a bikini in Yemen.
  7. There are also people who will take advantage. My partners family are in the red to me to the tune of about 300K baht, money I am unlikely to see again as I have no way of enforcing it be paid back. I can wear that loss without too much pain, but to some people, money lenders in particular, that sum is huge and they are not prepared to just let it go. Their interest is high probably because the risk of losing their money is high. There are no free lunches.
  8. Guesswork. Maybe they haven't paid one satang.
  9. Neither a borrower nor a lender be. No one is hiding, I' m just tired of hearing about welchers who believe they can take someone's money and not pay it back. I'm sure the conditions of the loan were spelled out clearly to them, if they don't comply there are repercussions.
  10. Nobody forces you to borrow money, and you shouldn't believe you have no obligation to pay it back. I have no sympathy for welchers.
  11. I'm curious as well. A couple of the GF's relatives want to take a holiday in Australia and are looking to get Tourist visas. How long do these normally take to get?
  12. I'm color blind so always had a problem with the color test. As for whether I should be driving, I guess driving for 60 years with only one accident, which wasn't my fault, and the last 13 years in Thailand, also accident free, speaks for itself.
  13. What about the perception test where you had to move the two sticks together?
  14. Roughly how big is the traffic light and do they still do the perception test where you move the two sticks? I always had a problem with the color test when it was dozens of little dots.
  15. Anyone done a recent renewal at Pattaya and can confirm that the color test is now done with a traffic light just using red, green and yellow? Also did you have to provide a resident certificate?
  16. I actually need it for my dog, to try and calm him enough to cut fur on his paws. He refuses to allow them to be touched and apparently Benadryl works and is safe for dogs. I tried local pharmacies and they don't have it.
