  1. How much does ANZ charge for international transactions? 3% Overseas Transaction Fee ANZ will charge 3% of the value of any International Transaction charged or credited to an ANZ account.Aug 1, 2565 BE
  2. Maybe I read that wrong, but I did see a fee of 3% for international transfers.
  3. I have looked into transferring money using Wise, and for me it's just not practical, so I'm stuck with using my bank, the ANZ to transfer $200K to Thailand. What makes more sense, to transfer in $AUD and have to pay 3% for the privilege, or transfer in Thai Baht which is free but I'll lose on the exchange rate? How does ANZ justify charging 3% is beyond me, that's $6000 on $200K.
  4. We have a Schitzu mixture dog who will not let us cut the fur on his paws under any circumstances, he just goes ballistic if we try. Doesn't mind the rest of his body being clipped but will not tolerate the clippers near his paws. I heard that Melatonin calms a dog down, but I wonder to what extent. I reckon he'd have to be near comatose for us to be able to do it.
  5. Don't bother. I bought two from Lazada for round 1100 each, advertised as S21 (samsung) which they're not. Both rubbish, far better buying something like an Oppo for around 4000 baht.
  6. Well, I suppose it's pretty slim pickings these days, people will watch any kind of dross, as for the most part, there's not much choice.
  7. Are you doing all this negotiation with the bank by phone? I've found trying to contact the ANZ is an absolute nightmare, and when you finally speak to an operator they are from India or the Philippines and not very competent.
  8. New series of Handmaids Tale has started, 2 episodes released.Thought it was off to a pretty good start.
  9. I just had a huge problem transferring $40K to Thailand with ANZ. I asked for the operator to send the money in $A but they sent it in Thai Baht. I lost $1200 with that mistake, but after jumping up and down they eventually refunded me. So I don't know what the possible advantage would be in transferring in Baht as the ANZ gives a sh*t rate on exchange.
  10. What do you mean by ANZ offered you a better than usual rate? The exchange rate is determined by the Thai bank isn't it?
  11. Did you transfer through your bank or use Wise?
  12. 2Mil. Baht is around $A80K, so it wouldn't involve too many transfers.
  13. I quit 8 years ago, so I've probably saved around 300,000 baht in Thailand.
  14. I agree, but I can't change the past. I will open an account with Wise and try transferring some smaller amounts first, just to see how it works.
  15. I have always done my transfers online with ANZ, limited to $10K at a time, which is all I needed to top up living expenses. That was the most convenient way for me as I only had to do it a few times a year. The exchange rate I got was whatever SCB gave me on the day, I didn't worry too much about it. This time I'm transferring a lot more than $10K, so the rate became a lot more important.
  16. That's quite a difference. As I'm transferring more than 30× that, it will add up.
  17. Thanks, but I'll stick with ANZ, it will be my final transfer with them. It's only around $30 to transfer no matter amount.
  18. Oh, OK, I'll be transferring direct from ANZ by phone
  19. 50,000 Baht cap? I transferred 1.5 million baht only a couple of weeks back with no problems.
  20. What do you mean by telegraphic transfer? Normally I just ring the international number and tell them how much to transfer, but you have to be clear you want the transfer in $AUD otherwise they send in Thai Baht and you really lose out. I Transferred $40K a couple of weeks ago and the operator didn't listen and transferred in Baht, and I got $1200 less than I should have, but they did reimburse me a month later
  21. I'm using ANZ, but if the transfer is in Aussie dollars what difference does it make.
  22. I'll be transferring a large sum in Aussie dollars to SCB next week, but I'm not sure what rate I get as there are a few, ie DD and TT, notes, TT, notes again, so which one is it?
