So umbrellas will be free but mats will be available to rent? Just to be clear what happens if we bring our own mat? 5555
Honestly this whole thing is ridiculous. There must have been more important things to target than each chairs and vendors? They could have worked something out in low season, had a while to put in place a proper plan that would keep tourists happy and ensure legal and correct protocols were being followed. Instead they pack everything up and are now struggling to organise themselves.
And all you 'locals' can get stuffed too with your "it looks so much better now". There are plenty of beaches in the south if you want the natural look. Plus It's the tourists that make that town go around not you ex pats drinking cheap ass beer on some bar down nanai.
Just out of interest has the same thing been done over on Koh samui?

There should be a country carved out specifically for religious nutters to go off and fight each other.

Read that they are going to be providing umbrellas to everyone for free however mats will need to be rented out. Works for me as the main concern was being able to lay in that heat without any umbrella.

Some lady drinks in the tiger bars were up to 250 bhat last time I was there in January.

What a croc of shit, you don't need to have a real name to post on face book, my friends 10 year old son is on face book says hes 16 and uses another name, all you need is an email address, see that's face book shit for you thereI read on Thai visa that the UK police had already returned, there's some crap go's on, with some people on this site, putting all that aside, let's hope that we can hear something new from their report, instead of half the crap we hear already, and without a lot of the Facebook shit that people spread
The facebook shit as you put it is more credible than anything on here. To post on the facebook shit you need to have your real name. Here you can be anything you want.
Please expand on what rumours you have read on Facebook. If your referring to CSI La all I can see is a series of interpretations based on information made known to the public by RTP. Interpretations which have been well received by many including resident Thais.
Judging from your ability to construct a sentence I can see how that may be incomprehensible to you. Rest assured you are not the only one.

Well this is an ironic thread considering he OPs behaviour in the Koh tao thread.

Over here there was a news report a few months ago about the next generation of card scanners. If I had to describe them I would say they are thin metallic devices which slot inside of the existing card slot making near impossible to spot, unlike some of the more primitive ones that attach purists of the existing card slot.
These days I ensue the hand pushing in the PIN is covered, usually with my other hand or wallet. Can they do anything with the card if they don't have the Pin?

I forgot about the mats. Are people using them to lay on now?

They should have thought it through before getting rid of them in the 1st place. Do you really think it's practical for families and other tourists to just sit out there in the heat on a towel? The sand will be hot btw.
Chairs and umbrellas will be back 100%. If you don't like it then bugger off to any of the other beach areas in Thailand that is quieter.

I love it when people say they feel safer here. The difference is gents if something were to kick off and you were an unfortunate victim where do you think you would stand a greater chance of getting some help from the law? Thailand or farangland? Case in point this article or Koh tao or the countless other incidents. Pull your head out of your durians.

Csi la today noted that the 2 Burmese lads have always worn wristbands, and even had them on after being arrested. Yet if the person running around in the CCTV video was one of them where were the wristbands?

. Why especially british?Busy body tony. Thai have democracy the thai way. Nothing to do with farang; especially British.
As has already been pointed out much of Thailand today is owed to the British. Truth is they need as much help as they can get otherwise as the Koh tao case has shown it turns into yet another national embarrassment.

How far up do these lanterns go before eventually faint back down to earth? Is it then the norm to just find burned out lanterns scattered all over the place a day later.

The people that have been saying the only reason not to give DNA is that you are guilty, must be a bit nervous. My gf just heard on the Thai news that the headman's son will give DNA tomorrow. Has anyone heard this ?
Now that gone be an interesting point in time for the TV conspiracy theorist.
No wait.............he must have finally found a way to modify his DNA
I don't think that kid could pull the skin off a rice pudding. I'd like to see all the police and mafia tested on the island. He testing negative does not further implicate the Burmese. They need to be retested, and independently - no Thai police involvement this time. And as has been stated here, DNA from semem in no way proves murder, and not even that Hannah was raped. This is why the prosecution are still not indicting based on the evidence so far.
I thought it was the other way around and that they were indicting them based on DNA evidence as opposed to the confession which has since been retracted.

Yep, "boots on the ground" will work. How about yours?!?
Link? Can PM it to me if you can't post here.I read about a girl baby having her head cut off by these "religious" folk today...........
This is shocking stuff and it doesn't seem to be improving. Bombings are not going to help get these women and children out of the brothels. There needs to be a ground operation. We need boots on the ground.
Would happily join up if it ever came it to. Nothing would make me more proud than to fight for my country. Unfortunately I am nowhere near fit enough to consider that line of work. There
Bet you feel a bit stupid now don't you?

I know there is nothing really to laugh at in this situation but I did get a chuckle when I read that there are around 30 Brits who went to fight with ISIS, now want to come back home but are being threatened with death... by ISIS. Let them die there. They surrendered their nationalities when they flew over there.

I have decide to purchase a VIP arrival service for when I land at Suvarnabhumi airport in January. On my last trip (January this year) the immigration queue was terrible so I thought 1100 bhat is not too bad if it means skipping that. My only problem is that it's not very clear where I will be met by the host/hostess. The voucher says;
"Please find our host(ess) at the end of the skybridge or at the door where the shuttle bus arrives, if the plane does not dock. She or he will be holding a sign with your name on it."
Where is the skybridge? I've landed at Suvarnabhumi a bunch of times but I guess I've never really noticed the VIP arrival people as I've never used them. If I get stuck should I just ask someone as soon as I exit the plane?
Thanks

I was having the same worries this week but no more after reading this thread. Thanks all

I usually holiday for under 30 days so a visa exempt does me. I have used them once however for a TV and I found the service to be fine.
Out of interest what was it you were seeking clarification on?
A nice little earner?
