  1. Tourist Police = Idiots who want to be someone.

Better do away with all of them and teach some of the brighter police ( Are there any? ) to speak other languages

Heh, I am one, but the only thing I sell is my guitar.gif.pagespeed.ce.Rjd-vqhNlw.gif ability and my hansumness.................giggle.gif

Hmm.. doesn't that make you a gigolo or a toyboy? smile.png

    I hope so.................clap2.gif

  2. Well Mr Bitter and twisted, it's still a pretty good place to live that's why so many people from every corner of the planet wants to call it home. What you describe above is called history. With that chip-on-shoulder tirade I hazard a guess you emanate from a former penal colony?

I personally don't accept that Britain is still a "pretty good place to live" at least for the native Brits of 50+ years ago. I was horrified when I returned 3 years ago. All around me in a main shopping area in a big city were obvious immigrants, whilst those that initially were not so immediately obvious were speaking a foreign tongue. I felt like I was an outcast in my own country! . It is now over-run with immigrants from everywhere, with many wrongly benefiting from the welfare system, all paid for by high taxation on those that work plus pensioners.. Yet those of us who dare to leave are penalised with our frozen pensions and inability to access the free health care that we have paid for during all the years we lived there. But if you Mr Bushman believe the UK is the Dog's <deleted> -so be it! I shall not be returning.

Pattaya could be considered the reverse - full of non Thais all speaking different languages. But at least they pay for everything they have, - no government handouts, no housing grants, no free healthcare, and when their money runs out, they are no longer permitted to stay. And if they break the law they will almost certainly and quite correctly, be deported.

Totally agree with what you say. The immigration insanity of the last 50 years has ruined the UK. However, there are still plenty of good bits left and when my daughter reaches 7 years old I will be taking her back there to be educated. UK education is infinitely preferable to what she can expect here. And remember that the whole world is becoming a mixed race bag. Thailand is a bit behind the game.

  3. "Who is Nelson Mandella (RIP)" But she knows the international money exchange rates, she also knows the bank account numbers of my accounts off by heart and the pin number (how she know that) anything else, well if it doesn't impact on her directly why should she care,, "don't want to think too much" or at all.

I bet, like my wife, she will also know the price of a baht of gold to two decimal places too!

  4. Don't know if this has anything to do with the explosions but I live around 500 metres from Surin airfield and every week I see the Thai drone take off and then return around one and half hour later. This happens every week flying over the disputed area.

This morning it left around 7 am and has not returned as yet so maybe and I only say maybe there has been a problem with the Drone plane

The Thai's have a drone! Now that is scary!

  5. Fantastic. Yet more Thai elections. I've been living in Thailand 6 years on and off. Feels like almost constant elections. My wife and family vote for whoever pays them the most. Not entirely sure they have grasped the concept of democracy and the ballot system.

Mustn't complain as we'll shortly be the proud owners of a new blanket and 100 baht. Enough for a slap up meal at Mrs Miggins olde noodle shoppe.

  7.

A question lads, would we have bought Lamela if we'd known how much Townsend had come on ?

I read a report somewhere that Real Madrid are interested in him, so I guess buying Lamela was an OK decision. Posted Image

Apparently they want to swap him for bale and give us 50m Posted Image

Have they paid for Modric yet?

  8. The passing of Paul Walker was also very sad, but who can miss the irony of him dying in a car crash, Posted Image

Why? What has he done for the world? I did not even know who he was until he first got splattered all over a tree and then all over the press.

Do most young Americans, Brits, Germans, Aussies know who Mandela was? I doubt it.

I think you'll find they do

  10. Am equally happy in central London and central Bangkok.

Possibly more so in Bangkok as there is much more give and take (no egos and road rage) which keeps everything flowing and prevents gridlock.

Get up country then take care.

No gridlock in BKK! I think you and I are driving in different Bangkoks.

By Thai standards I'm a very good driver! And of course I care☺

  11. IMHO The 747's Thai Air operate offer better leg room and wider seats. However, some of those Thai Air Jumbos are a little long in the tooth. I last time I flew w w with them on 747 about two months ago and it had no seat back screens. Good job I had bought a good book! But they are good with the booze!
