  1. You're just a troll, probably one with no options other than to suck it up probably clacking away furiously drunk in your rented condo sweltering under a fan eating mama noodles washed down with lao khao and soda and seeing if there are enough baht for another visit to Bush Mountain or failing that PornHub. Have a great day don't forget to keep taking the meds !
  2. I have plenty of money, a house in London and a condo in Jomtien all paid for - just tired of Thailand tbh having visited it every year for 20 years, worked there for a year and overwintered for 3 months for the last 5 and if I wasn't married wouldn't be going there again. Been everywhere, seen everything in my nearly 3 years living in the country in total. There's a whole world that isn't it. Wintering in say Spain or Canary Islands with clean air, great infrastructure and natural beauty and 2 - 4 hour flights are much more enticing. I'll save say 400 quid on the flight difference and 350 quid on the visa. That's £750 into the pot from the off. So there's nothing to miss..... especially the smoke !
  3. General Milley reluctantly reads the room. Charity begins at home and if Trump stops these US -centric wars then that's worth voting for on that single policy alone. I'm not in the US, but if I was, I would be part of the Leftists through Gritted Teeth for Trump. $7 trillion and millions of live squandered on Afghanistan and Iraq to make the world a more dangerous place, whilst your infrastructure crumbles away and the national debt soars to record levels. Great Empires decline and fall inevitably, and ultimately through their own decadence and external threats. The financialisation of the economy and the looting by the financiers of the system, gaming it like one huge casino, has consequences and those particular chickens now are coming home to roost He sees the debate in Congress as a test of whether you think US support for the rules-based international order is important. He sides with those who say that not backing Ukraine is “signalling a deathblow” to that order. Does he think part of the problem is that Americans have just seen two decades of war — in Afghanistan and Iraq? “Absolutely. 100 per cent,” Milley says emphatically. “They’ve kind of had it with wars and forever wars.” https://www.ft.com/content/3a8ab059-4710-4e56-ad04-87eb623d79ac In China the system has shaken down some of their billionaire class by execution, prison and re-education to make sure they work for the State and are not above it. In the West, we watch in awe as the Bezos, Musk and Branston play with their rockets lording it over us in their toys in space whilst our high streets are hollowed out and collapse. The capitalists will sell us the rope with which to hang them - VI Lenin, indeed they will, comrade !
  4. This looks like a money grab pure and simple to balance the government books. Probably something to make their embassy network self-financing, maybe ? Whatever, for my usual 3 months IMM-O marriage visa to go from £60 to £365 is borderline criminal and if the MFA is on a fund-rasing drive I would fully expect the shake-down to be right across the board. And if the 3-month visa free still exists for Russians continues past the current expiry of 30th April 2024 - double ouch ! https://visaguide.world/news/thailand-introduces-higher-visa-fees-for-new-zealand/ https://fukuoka.thaiembassy.org/en/content/ac041023?cate=5ee71d3eb58aa61433490366
  5. Thanks, Thailand just back from a 3 months stay in our condo spent around 350k fed up with the smoke and filthy air. Will give it a miss next year so you can kiss goodbye to another 350k. Your loss.
  6. Has been discussed already. https://aseannow.com/topic/1320861-new-visa-fees-beginning-on-19th-march-2024/
  7. If this is true my marriage 3 month Imm-O UK visa will go up from £60 to £385 I was considering giving next year a miss anyway and letting my wife go solo if this happens I'm out. They can shove it up their fundament.
  8. Crikey have just looked at his site and that link that's crazy. Either it's a mistake or it's terrible news. No change in the UK https://london.thaiembassy.org/en/publicservice/81755-visa-fees?page=5d6636cd15e39c3bd00072dd&menu=5f4b6eb3f6ae4b236972c562 Late last week the Thai embassy in New Zealand published its new visa rates schedule online. From March 19, the embassy itself won’t accept visa applications anymore and all visa applications must be made online. With the new online system, the fees for a visa to Thailand have increased dramatically. There has been disbelief and shock at the massive increases in visa fees which will see a single-entry tourist visa increase in price from $NZ 60 to $NZ 300. A single-entry non-immigrant visa (the visa needed for a work permit or a retirement visa or a marriage visa) will increase in price from $NZ 120 to a whopping $NZ 800! For reference, $NZ 1 = 22 baht so a single-entry tourist visa will be priced at the equivalent of about 6,600 baht, getting on for $US200. That means a single-entry non-immigrant visa would be the equivalent of around 18,000 baht, or $US500! A multiple-entry tourist visa will cost $NZ 1,000 and a multiple-entry non-immigrant visa $NZ 2,000!
  9. And yet he might win the election. Triangulate that. I'll stick my neck out and say whatever happens, he won't make America great again. That ship has long since sailed.....to China who is patiently sitting out forever wars whilst simply doing business.
  10. Don't worry the election of a skilful gob<deleted>e has so upset little Risshi Sunak he had to get out his lectern and spew nonsense about Broken Britain he and his fellow compatriots helped to break. If it is indeed broken.
  11. Spot on my friend. And since most Hamas devotees no longer have a problem with martyrdom, Israel's savage response has played into their carefully laid trap. In the coming decades, there will be no turning back for Israel, abandoned by many friends outraged and disgusted by their pitiless bombing of the most densely populated place on the planet. Couple that with a burgeoning non-working Orthodox growing constituency with large families existing on welfare and increasing numbers of young diasporic Jews rejecting Zionism and a reverse migration from the state, the days of Exodus idealism and communitarian kibbutzes will be long gone only to be replaced a murderous, increasingly authoritarian ethno-fascist state. You can add to that 100s of thousands of murderous Palestinian intent on revenge who can and will try to enact that at some point. Violence just begets violence and generational no justice means no peace. Israel have created their very own Taliban who won't even fight for their country. When Israel was founded, 3% of Israelis were Haredi. Today the figure is 13%, 18% of 18-year-olds and almost a quarter of newborns. As Haredi education expands in both numbers and per-student funding, the very existence of an independent school system tailor-made for insularity has begun to reshape how other Israelis think of the education system, which is already divided by religion and language. https://www.timesofisrael.com/the-new-state-budget-favors-haredim-and-hurts-them/
  12. Sounds like you have swallowed a woke dictionary without the Palestinian add-on that goes with it.
  13. This sort of nonsense does a disfavour to all the victims of Nazism and reveals a real weakness in the modern psyche to imagined horrors. Well, Israel needs fresh blood for all the real estate they are flattening in their rage, and if you're under 40 the IDF can use your talents. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/antisemitism-uk-london-israel-b2501340.html
  14. I tell you what disgusts me the squashed body of a starving Palestinian after he had been run over by an Israeli tank whilst trying to find food and that image being shared by Zionists glorying in the horror. I will never get that out of my mind, or the bombed remnants of a child hanging from a fence. Keep clutching your pearls, the world ain't buying any more.
  15. Why should I ? He was a guest of the British Government at the Lancaster House talks for Independence, and I was a supporter of Zanu-PF through Zimbabwean friends. We saw him at a victory rally in a Manchester cinema, and what a night it was. What happened subsequently was a tragedy, but some of it was perfidy from the government in reneging on land rights.
  16. 42 years ago I was a student organizer and we and the Palestinian Student Society organised a protest and a disruption when the Israeli Ambassador came on campus to give a talk. It's what student do and have always done, nothing new here. I also met Robert Mugabe briefly, but that's a story for another day. Oh and Fox News , really ?
  17. They own the trashyrags that peddle their filth and so keep them uniformed and angry.
  18. Genocide. Spraying starving people with bullets and running them over with tanks. Imagine Putin doing that, or even the Chinese.
  19. Aye the rich billionaire class have got ever richer as they hollow out our a nation states and our welfare and accrued rights and entitlements. They are actively weaponizing the Transams and their ilk at the moment to direct their anger "OVER THERE" but not upwards at their greedy grasping malevolent hands. It always works some become progressive but just as many become fascist which always ends badly.
  20. What is certain is that huge swathes of the western young of whatever stripe are snowflakes with mental health issues, seeing threats in every shadow, and you are not allowed to question their "feelings".
  21. It's not beyond reason that right wing forces in Israel are happy with this state of affairs, with a "see Israel is your only home do Aliyah and come back to the homeland" and bolster the world's only Jewish state. "Therefore, only in Israel will you be safe from the ever-increasing antisemitism, so don’t get caught by surprise. Consider your children’s future. Relocate to Israel, the home for all Jews." https://www.jpost.com/opinion/article-777067
  22. Me neither lived here nigh on 40 years now. Some people are crime magnets, and they are often criminals themselves. But of course crime happens everywhere in major cities, no one would doubt that. What is interesting is that Mr Trans seems over-invested in theoretical crime in a place where he no longer lives, probably as a per-cursor to justifying why he no longer lives here even if he could afford to do. We don't have 50baht Pad ka prows, I'll concede that.
  23. Sounds like you have spent too much time down a rabbit hole of Tommy Robinson videos and his coke fuelled rants. God is Great brother.
  24. He is indefatigably against the genocide and actually has the scars from a crazed, psychotic criminal Zionist who tried to kill him to prove it. But the party is him, and he is the party.
