  1. When you go to another country to watch sport behave it's not difficult and don't antagonise people.
  2. I don't appear to be able to post the article that called them hooligans and thugs . They are quite a few countries that have notorious fans when abroad England being a particuarly nasty case it would appear the Maccabi Ultras are no differrent.

  5. https://www.timesofisrael.com/liveblog_entry/video-footage-shows-israeli-soccer-fans-taunting-arabs-in-amsterdam-with-anti-palestinian-chants/ Video footage on social media shows Israeli soccer fans chanting against Arabs and Palestinians in Amsterdam, pointing to high tensions and unrest prior to the nighttime attacks. Pro-Palestinan activists have claimed that the Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were the first to engage in harassment and violence, saying they assaulted Arabs in the city and vandalized Palestinian flags.
  6. Ah yes jam tommorow keeping the spreads analogy when nine out of every ten bucks’ worth of US arms promised this year haven’t shown up.My wife wisely beleives that money is only real when it is in her hand. Words are cheap. https://www.kyivpost.com/post/41431
  7. https://archive.ph/pR3Jq Fine word butter no parsnips and butter before guns will be the German mantra come the next election, Goering will be turning in his grave. In the words of one Ukrainian general, the country’s defences are “crumbling” in the face of Russian advances. Germany has become Europe’s largest provider of military aid to Kyiv, just ahead of Britain, but is set to cut spending in 2025, hoping that Ukraine can instead largely fund itself out of loans from the proceeds of frozen Russian assets. While the political turmoil is viewed as unlikely to affect current plans, it is likely to halt any potential increase in support at a time when Ukraine needs more resources to shore up its front lines. With Britain’s armoury looking threadbare, our own ability to step into this gap is questionable. Ambrose Evans-Pritchard - The Trump restoration is an unmitigated disaster for Germany Tariffs and Ukraine’s surrender would be ruinous for Europe’s former economic powerhouse The splash across Germany’s venerable newspaper Die Zeit was a single word in English, distilled to sum up what has just happened to Europe, Nato, the world trading system, and above all Germany: “F--k”. “Looking away doesn’t help, fear doesn’t help, and in the end all that’s left is feeble self-soothing,” it said, with a nod to Heinz Kohut’s Self Psychology for a Fractured World. https://archive.ph/xBaQJ#selection-2415.0-2439.95
  8. Because we spaffed £150 billion up the wall , increased non-white immigration to record levels and committed the greatest act of economic self harm in history. I miss Danny Carlton on those therad way back when.
  9. It was a Ukaraine supporting nut who nearly pulled it off first time round.
  10. Normally I woild agree with you but you have Farage in Parliament now - I strongly suspect when he does his first state visit he will aslo be visiting Clacton where he will get a heros welcome. His win will energise the Europena 'populist' movements.
  11. If he can forgive Vance he can forgive anything. It's all transactional with him - apparently he asked Theresa May at Chequers if the UK had nukes !
  12. No one can doubt your bravery or your beliefs, you are literally prepared to die for them by choice which is a rare quality in this fallen world. I sincerely hope you keep safe and return to peace soonest so you can return to safety and warmth of Thailand. You and every single combatant in this senseless war. Many thanks for the update. Your report echoes what ISW have said in their latest bulletin p11. 11 Institute for the Study of War and AEI’s Critical Threats Project 2024 Russian forces continued offensive operations in the Toretsk direction on November 6, but there were no confirmed advances. Russian forces attacked near Toretsk ; north of Toretsk near Dylivka; and west of Toretsk near Shcherbynivka on November 5 and 6.[21] Bobovnikova reported that the intensity of Russian assaults in the Toretsk direction has increased and that Russian forces have accumulated materiel, unspecified motorized rifle brigades, and Spetsnaz units of the Central Military District (CMD) in this direction.[22] Elements of the Russian 9th Motorized Rifle Brigade (51st CAA, formerly 1st Donetsk People’s Republic’s [DNR] AC) are reportedly operating near Toretsk.[23 https://www.understandingwar.org/sites/default/files/Russian Offensive Campaign Assessment November 6%2C 2024 (PDF)_0.pdf
  13. If these people are important they will have moved their assets beyond reach a very long time ago. All sanctions seem to have done is create a burgeoning shadow economy beyond the dollar. 60 Minutes analyzed four years of data from India's Ministry of Commerce. We found the value of India's imports of Russian crude oil increased by more than 2,000% since the invasion of Ukraine. Much of that crude goes to an Indian port called Sikka…where it is refined into other oil products, such as gasoline. But those products don't necessarily stay in India. Sam Madani helped us track a tanker of "refined products" from India's port … around the tip of Africa …across the Atlantic Ocean…and ultimately, here …to New York. The U.S. is still paying Russia $1 billion a year for enriched uranium to help fuel 94 nuclear reactors that provide about a fifth of America's energy needs. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/russia-works-around-international-sanctions-amid-war-with-ukraine-60-minutes-transcript/
  14. Trump mulls Ukraine peace plan that puts British troops in 800-mile buffer zone President-elect’s proposal to freeze war with Russia would also see Ukraine agree to shelve Nato ambitions for 20 years https://archive.ph/wIXXv#selection-2461.4-2465.126
  15. Maybe Ukraine can restore democracy and have an election and show the world where they currently stand ?
  16. With respect this is a discussion forum where we air our views with what is regarded as appropriate evidence. To address your salient point yes that is correct they can fight on for as long as the money, weapons and manpower exists. The sovereign nations supplying them in that quest can also make their own decisions whether after 3 years they still wish to fund that and that process has now thankfully begun.
  17. If Germany stalls then the banker of EU debt stalls with it. We are entering the populist era of fix problems at home not fund foreign wars and not before time.
  18. Populism is on the rise even more so since the Trump win Orban and Fico are in virtal open rebellion and Germany fears an AfD resurgence , same with Austria. We are at the beginning of the end.
  19. Stand by for the West’s betrayal of Ukraine - There is little sign Europe is ready to step up and arm Kyiv if Trump follows through on the logic of his campaign vow - THE TIMES https://archive.ph/C9iVF When it became clear earlier this year that Trump would definitely secure his party’s nomination, there was some flirting in Europe with the thought that the continent must step up and take over the funding and support for Ukraine when the US abandons Zelensky and his people. Those of us who suggested this did so on the basis it should surely be feasible for a continent of 500 million souls, with an economy ten times the size of Russia’s, to find the money and also to strengthen the European pillar of Nato. Beyond some statements since Trump’s victory about European solidarity, there is no meaningful sign of it. I hope I am wrong. I hope Europe, including the UK, steps up properly for Ukraine and commits to spending at least 3 per cent of GDP on rebuilding our own defences. As it stands, what seems more likely is that we will wring our hands while Ukraine is forced to endure ritual humiliation. My note - from Gemini The UK is currently spending approximately 2.3% of its GDP on defense. There is a commitment to increase this to 2.5% of GDP by 2030. To calculate 0.7% of the UK's GDP, we need the current GDP figure. According to the Office for National Statistics (ONS), the UK's GDP in 2023 was £2,720 billion. To find 0.7% of this amount, we can multiply the GDP by 0.7% (or 0.007): £2,720 billion * 0.007 = £19.04 billion Therefore, 0.7% of the UK's GDP in 2023 was approximately £19.04 billion. That would be nearly £700 more per household per year.
  20. Russia steps up mass drone attacks in bid to overwhelm Ukrainian defenses - CNN https://edition.cnn.com/2024/11/07/europe/russia-ukraine-kyiv-drone-record-intl/index.html As well as drastically increasing the number of strikes, Russia has begun to fire decoy drones without warheads to overwhelm Ukraine’s air defenses. Decoy drones carry a “3D-printed ball wrapped in foil” to imitate the warhead of an Iran-made Shahed-136 drone, Yuriy Ihnat, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s air defenses, told CNN. These cheaper drones confuse Ukraine’s air defenses, which may shoot down decoy drones instead of ones carrying a lethal warhead. Decoy drones now account for as many as half of all Russian drones fired at Ukraine, Ihnat said. The Russian army has been pounding Ukraine throughout the war, but the moves signal a change in Moscow’s tactics following Donald Trump’s reelection as president, who could pull support. Meanwhile, Ukraine is under fierce pressure on the eastern frontlines, where its army chief has warned his forces are facing “one of the most powerful Russian offensives” since the start of the war.
  21. Trump Will Test European Solidarity on NATO, Ukraine and Trade Another Trump term could spur Europe’s efforts to stand on its own, but it is far from clear its leaders will seize the moment this time. https://archive.ph/5PaAI#selection-5239.0-5243.137 Trump changes everything - this war started under Biden and will end under Trump. Whether Ukraine will survive as a viable state is a moot point. Blinken and Nuland along with Putin have blood on their hands.
  22. At this stage with no hope of victory a messy peace is preferable to a continuing dirty war with a disproportinate loss of life on the Ukrainian side. Let's hope that Trump follows through and gets that deal across the line and soon. Europe is very nearly bust and with the engine of Germany stalling there's no money left to make up a US shortfall should it happen nor the weapons or manpower either. This is the only glimmer of hope in a Trump victory - the rest is a disaster for the world.
  23. Nothing is bringing P'Nut back but hopefully the facists wildlife exterminators will have their hands tied with the comeback kid. RFK Jnr is an environ-mentalist so saving the squirrels will hopefully be top of his in tray. Fun Fact he is married to Larry David's ex fictional wife.
