The teaching Yoga thing is one of the latest visa scam angles people are trying. Or some just start teaching and making money on the side. I would not shame the maskless, that does little. Fine them.

Who said I was waiting? Once again, you are one of those nits that makes incorrect conclusions. And your fear mongering accomplishes nothing. The mortality rate of COVID is less than any severe flu season. Yes the old, the weak, the sick, those with pre existing conditions are hit the worst. That is the same as has always been and will continue to be the plight of the human race. Get used to it

Change O-A visa to Elite visa
gk10012001 replied to sirwilly's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I don't think you need to leave the country. But you are expected to be at the BKK airport and that is where you are met and then walked over to immigration and get the Elite stamp and stuff. I am not sure what to do if you have an existing O A visa or extension already. I am pretty sure you can not have two types of visas at the same time, so you need to check on how to cancel that OA right when you get the Elite Visa. I am 99% sure there is no "conversion" from one to the other as they really are quite different. -
I suggest the Long Term effects are not really known yet, as the vaccines have not been out for what most people would consider a long amount of time. All that is known, to be precise is the data collected since the first COVID vaccines were administered. If one considers that a long term amount of time, well, so be it.

Phuket marks 109 new local infections

OK, so sandbox people are not a virus issue. Now what? Is there an exit plan or strategy? -
the only way tourism will have multi millions of tourists is if Mass organized group tourism as the Chinese did is allowed again. God I hated seeing those hordes at BKK, groups of 20 following behind the flag bearer of their group. Totally clogged Walking street in Pattaya. Few of them going into the local bars or gogos. Many stay in chinese quietly owned hotels, eat prepared pre planned meals there. To me, that is not a way to be a tourist. Go out and eat in local places. Stay in local owned hotels. But, to each their own.

Bangkok races to mass test residents
gk10012001 replied to Jonathan Fairfield's topic in Bangkok News
So what real good will the testing do? If positive test results, are the persons whisked off to a quarantine facility? Are the people told to self quarantine in their domicile? do you really think they would be isolated at home and not come into any contract with family, friends, wife, etc? If they test negative, so what? Will they go back day after day and test again? Why not vaccinate the people that gather there for testing? -

There is no way I will be working for 5 more years at my age. And as for medical, Medicare is fine with me. If I really really loved the area, and if I was intending on buying a home there, and retiring there, and if I really liked the type of work, I would take it. They just sent me several dozen more things to fill out, forms, etc. Some are routine, one requires my college transcripts from 1975, be sent a specific way, but neither of my Universities send them that way. So after over two months of interviewing, initial draft offer, emails with same draft offer but not official, it looks like nothing is going to happen. No problem. Heading back to Florida. Do some house hunting. Take another interim contract engineering job. Then wait things out until Thailand is more open. -
Thailand’s Covid-19 infection numbers are likely “much higher”
gk10012001 replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Flue experts estimate that in severe years, 5 to20 % of a population get the flu. Again, just estimates because they do not test every body that had flu symptoms or of course the entire population. 10 % for a guess would mean maybe 6 million Thais may have had, have or will get the COVID, with or without symptoms? -
well done sir for thinking of your wife should you pass. However, I have heard stories of accounts being frozen even if the other half has access and joint ownership. Reasons cited have been, possible money's owed, liens, not to mention just some meanness or some bad things, etc. Will in order?
-
While it is OK to ask why, it is totally inappropriate to make any sort of assumption or insinuation as to the why. He later explained quite succinctly in a reply to your comments. Joint accounts are sometimes very essential for various reasons.

How Do They Test for The Delta Variant?
gk10012001 replied to gk10012001's topic in COVID-19 Coronavirus
I never said I thought it was new to public health agencies around the world. Those are your words. You certainly like to make silly and incorrect generalizations and make things up. -
Well, quoting from the article much is assumed and not actually checked or verified. They claim the majprity of cases are Delta Variant, yet they also say they do not test. OK, so how much did they test? How much do they test? One out of ten cases? one out of 100? "Although there is no specific test for the Delta variant, it’s likely a positive Covid-19 result indicates you could be infected with the variant, according to Human and Health Services of Texas. The reason is because the majority of Covid cases in the United States are the Delta variant. In order to specifically check for the Delta variant, a genomic sequencing Covid-19 test is required, which certain labs and local health departments have access to. According to Human and Health Services of Texas, the volume of positive cases is the main reason why genomic sequencing is not performed on every test. https://www.the-sun.com/lifestyle/3419789/covid-19-delta-variant-test/
