Farmers in Lampang are suffering water shortages that have severely affected crops in the province, including rice, he added.
Surely this should fall under a government project.....????

IMO it is perfectly obvious that if the state of emergency is extended then outside visitors should not be allowed to enter the country, I would have thought this should be a clearly rational way of thinking to anyone with a modicum of intelligence..!! They have had ample time to realise that certain dates will clash with the way they have planned things - just too slow to act........

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will discuss with hotels, airlines and online travel agents the idea of swapping customers’ bookings for flights to foreign countries and accommodations there for domestic flights and accommodations instead.
Is that a straw passing by..............LOL

Pattaya: City reveals plans for Walking Street - major "mall" style makeover for Thailand's "world class resort"
Here we are again, firstly Pattaya is not a "World Class Resort" too many dangers for this to be true, lack of safety on the roads & crossings, sidewalks either in poor condition or none existing, smelly drains coupled with flooding after a heavy rain shower, Rats & pigeons infesting the beach & beach road one could go on & on......
23 hours ago, webfact said:The mayor Sontaya Khunpluem commented that Walking Street has to be "fit for purpose" and not adversely affect livelihoods.
He stressed that any makeover must ensure that the "special smell and flavor" of Walking Street must be maintained.
Did have a little giggle at this one the way it is worded but basically he is on the right track, if at all possible the atmosphere of the area needs to be maintained where ever possible, if they make it squeaky clean it will kill the place, balancing the ambiance will not be an easy task but at least he is thinking about it.

Yes it sucks for them if they have been laid off work but the relevance is zero.
The relevance is they should open up the country more and provide additional avenues for employment instead of trying to claw back money from the people for an occasion that has gone and should be forgotten for this year

Has there been a single group returning that didn't have at least one Covid-19 positive person?
A very good question, but what I cannot understand is Thailand is reporting very few new cases but many suspects in the returnees, so are we to believe none of these "High Temperature" reading people do not have the virus..??

Thailand’s Ministry of Culture will propose, to the Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA), the declaration of special public holidays, from July 4th to 9th, for belated Songkran celebrations, which were postponed from mid-April due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Is this the Ministry of culture or Ministry of "SILLY WALKS"........LOL As has been pointed out by many of the above people this is an absolutely STUPID IDEA!!!! people can ill afford further holidays once again this is just another distraction from what the government is not doing to ease the lockdown of the population, it should also be named "Water Fight" as it will have absolutely nothing to do with the Songkran festival which has been and gone, and why five days the country cannot afford to waste so much water when the farmers are going without for their crops it is an absolutely childish way of thinking.

Once again the PM has shot himself in the foot, I agree with the step-by-step policy but unless they are planning to use the reintroduction of alcohol as a scapegoat for the opening up of the country to outside tourists when the numbers increase once again, they should definitely let the restaurants serve alcohol and open the open-air bars before outside tourists are allowed into the country so everyone will know where the increase has come from then think about opening up the entertainment side of things with go go bars and discos ets.

I would be surprised if anyone is surprised by this, the tribal wars that have been taking place for many many years will never end for the same reason numerous Thai people die every year - Respect or loss of face between the opposing fractions.

I'm sorry I disagree, they admit that the schools opening and the possible admission of outside tourist arriving do clash...!!
