  1. Remember how the democrats refused to accept foreign observers in 2011? This is how it should be done in a democracy. This is how you can actually get some facts about how fair an election have been.

That must be because of they were swindling votes in Bangkok...7,000,000 extra ballot papers printed. The Dusit exit poll( most accurate) predicted to within 2-3 % all over the country, predicted 24 seats for PTP and I think they got nine and Dems got about 15 more than the poll predicted in Bangkok

All rather sad really.....The party of the middle classes cant hang onto Bangkok. Dont be surprised if that little chestnut does not arise within the next 2 months. Did not use it at the last elections because they had 100 more seats than the Dems

Very sad that Pheua Thai lost the by- election in Don Meuang and the council elections in Pathum Thani since the last election.

Normal to lose by elections all over the world mid term. Come the General Election they all return. Pathum Thani thats in the Dem heartland...must have paid for it (see my next post in this thread that refers to the Dems spending more money at the last election on vote buying than the PTP)

  2. BANGKOK, 17 December 2013 (NNT) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives predicts that Thailand will export 7 million tons of rice next year, while rice production in the country will be as high as 38 million tons.

This from the other humorous thread. Export 7 million tons out of god only knows how many million tons already in storage

PLUS "rice production in the country will be as high as 38 million tons.

Thailand, drowning in an ocean of rice and millions in the world starving to death. "Well, let 'em die"!

    attachicon.gifcras.jpg

Thailand consumes about 20 million tons of rice a year and normally produces before the pledging scheme 28 million tons. How did 10 million extra tons appear? With this math that would mean they are storing 18 million tons a year that the government will have 32 million tons by the end of this years harvest.

Thai consumption of rice is about 10 million tons/year as per google. Production of rice jumped to 33 million ton/year as per world production figures after the rice scam was brought to reality. Then add rice from outside Thailand finding its way across the border, consignment of paddy being entered multiple times, and various other means of "screwing the system" A book could be written on this scam, and it was not even a good scam by criminal mind code of conduct. It was about as subtle as the 'rape of Nangking'

Links to evidence of rice scam

  3. "Conversely, participation would see the party "lose support of the protesters," he said."

So how many protestors were there in comparison to those who voted Democrat in the last election?

In the last election the Democrats had already the problem that their voter were frustrated.

The whole south is full of support for the protests. They would feel the Democrats are traitors or not different and would stay away from the election.

So Abhisit is in the situation, that whatever he does it will be wrong.

Paid for by their Democrat land owners...no different to the red shirts then

  5. But if the election date cannot be postponed, the PDRC should help campaign for a fair election and no vote buying, Somchai said.

    Better tell them dems

Deputy Democrat party leader Alongkorn Ponlaboot in an interview that was broadcast on May 31, 2013 on John Winyu’s show (รองหัวหน้าพรรคประชาธิปัตย์กล่าวในรายการ “เจาะข่าวตื้น ตอน 99″) stated:

“Recently, if we speak directly, they [Puea Thai] use little money. I am not saying we [the Democrats] use more money than them [Puea Thai]. [host interprets with statement "they are using less money"]. It has become inverted [host interprets and says "They don't need to use so much money?"] I say if it is like that then don’t say we lost because of money”. “For the last election, it may be because we actually used more than them. Therefore, don’t talk about this issue anymore."

  6. Sending out a message that the army, in fact, are not 100% behind the election before reform as incorrectly stated in Sunday by the Defense secretary who was actually speaking on behalf of Thaksin and not the military. So there is your answer to people meddling!

Incorrect use of the phrase 'the army' . It is a selection of retired army generals with friends who are being financially backed by those needing to remove Thaksin. The current C in C appears to be in Thaksins camp. This can never be misconstrued as 'the only peaceful solution'. This may fracture the army...for me thats civil war. All started by a few wealthy family in the name of ...........

  7. Well, sure the "retired"s will have a voice for Suthep, but they are not appointed besides influent.

And finally there is no speculations about who was behind the "Fool" and why he continued to push on.

We all knew he had an important back up and now we know who are them (or at least we know some of them).

Next move to all the appointed authorities.

Like a chess game, but with well more important and maybe tragic consequences.

@backtonormal, why to put shame on some posters? We all can have ideas... There's nothing to be ashamed of.

Apologies for my unintended insult. To those who are trying to understand Thailand...sorry. To those with agendas....couldn't care

  8. And here we go. Now can understand more of who is backing Super Suthep... No wonder!

This has been known for sometime. It is why I have written that this is not about politics.

When you think of wealth in Thailand, it isn't in the military. The military is where the "high So's" want to keep their sons out of.

Clearly, there are a lot more in support than just these few.

Glad to see a poster who knows whats going on and why and also why it has to be now...shame on some of the others. This rotten apple Suthep is having the layers peeled away and now we see the 'enforcers using the .......... to give validation to their threats, We really need to expose the backers and their motives...oops sorry I know why

  9. This is why : The focus of the protestors is the out of control corruption by the Thaksin Shinawatra owned political

    parties.

That may be a belief of the protestors but its not the goal of the protest leaders and backers

  10. According to Reuters "Anupong, 64, and Prawit, 67" are power behind the Suthep - and they may still hold enough sway that if push comes to shove the army would side with Suthep.

It is obvious to me that what some of us see as crazy rants are really movements of pieces on a Chessboard. If the People's pusch fails; then the the next piece to move is for a judicial pusch; and only if that fails would the Army be pushed to be the forefront. They would prefer not being seen as taking sides, but if they did it would be on the side of Suthep.

This is how I currently see it playing out:

Phase 1: Suthep mobilizes population to oppose an unpopular piece of legislation - a win; He then uses his current status to continue a people's pusch and otherthrow the elected democratic government (this has fizzled - so Phase 2 begins)

Phase 2: Judicial coup. Democratic Party resigns from parliament leaving most of not only members of parliament to be those that voted in favour of an elected senat. Even though the democratic government took no actions to violate the constitution by starting the process of electing senators, the opinions raised that the courts overstepped their boundary (or some-other reason) would be used to disqualify the rest of the MPs before the next election leaving a vacuum to which a "People's Council" could then be appointed.

Phase 3: If for some reason that fails to materialize the Army would be forced to play their cards and step out from behind the curtains.

Simply put, the election is not likely going to take place.

There you go. Spot on. Forget the elections.

I don't know who is funding this. It is expensive. I highly (highly) doubt it is being funded by Anupong and Pravit.

Its great to have posters who know about the 'big picture'. My belief was supported by a very high so worker who replied " how farang know this' some of us know ...the rest post all day

  11. One of the more interesting points about Suthep is that despite all his years as a top dog in the Dems, he would appear to be now saying that the Democrats are equally corrupt and useless and not fit to govern the Country (a sentiment that I would totally agree with!). Why else would he be calling for his "Peoples' Council" and not for all good men to roll their sleeves up and work for a Dem victory in the polls?

This has nothing to do with politics.

You sir have demonstrated more knowledge of the situation than all on this forum bar a few. Its to do with ousting Thaksin but not for his alledged corruption but his friendships and what that holds for Sutheps backers in the future. For those bleating about corruption...you may wish to read this translation from a radio show with a top Democrat MP

Deputy Democrat party leader Alongkorn Ponlaboot in an interview that was broadcast on May 31, 2013 on John Winyu’s show (รองหัวหน้าพรรคประชาธิปัตย์กล่าวในรายการ “เจาะข่าวตื้น ตอน 99″) stated:

Therefore, don’t talk about this issue anymore."

What an eye opener for them kiss butt Democrat "know nowts" on here. Get a grip and please...no more posts about Reds buying votes

  12. Now we can see the move from the opposition. He is now revealing the true plan behind everything he sell to the people. If what he is doing now is to go against the police department than this is bad news to him and the people of Thailand. By doing this he have go against the law of the country. You all forgotten something, there is still a higher power then the government. Your King still have the right and the army is still under your king command.

For me is simple, the opposition wants power then just give it to them. See if he is able to do what he promise to the people regarding on the "People Council" and what do he mean by giving back the power to the people? and what he will do on corruption and dictatorship.

If he really able to setup a people council, let see how clean from corruption this council will be. There will be a disadvantage in all this, if the International community cannot accept this type of government then Thailand will be a waste land with very bad economy crisis.

The police isn't called "Royal" Thai Police for nothing. By dissolving the Royal Thai Police, he's putting the final nails in his coffin. I wouldn't be surprised if this was over faster than anyone expects.

Sutheps financiers believe they are above the law. Thaksin is the threat to the Status Quo. Please ask why they are so scared of him and stop bleating about rice and corruption and 2.2 trillion. Its obvious

  13. For the many of you who are banking on a PTP win in the forthcoming election, I would suggest you have missed the whole point of this uprising. The people want to see the end of both Thaksin and the PTP, so this battle will not be over until that is achieved.

I would suggest that the proposed election will not take place in February; indeed, I think there is a better chance of a multi-party interim government taking over for the next year or so, which would finally give this country a chance at achieving real democracy.

This is maybe what is being chanted from the pulpit but consider my post 105

Last thing Suthep wanted. They have an ever decreasing window of opportunity to seize power and that may have been shortened by the wait for the election which they cannot win. Some on here are missing the real end game, If you gave Suthep a choice of being in power with his council or removing Shinawatra he would at this time, without hesitation choose the former. Failure to take dictatorial control of the nation will have dire consequences for his backers in the future

I saw another post with links to a theory today which re-enforces my believe ...this has very little to do with corruption...its what the future holds that Suthep is trying to grab power for. Everything is only a theory but you have to remove yourself from Thaksin being the anti christ and ask why are they so scared of him and what are they scared of losing. Look at Suthep and ask does this man care about the people or like most his pockets. What is it that will remove him from the trough forever...and its not the dreaded rice scam. Use your imagination and you find why Suthep is being paid to froth like a rabid dog on speed

  14. There is no such thing as neutral. Everyone has a political preference whether they make it public or not.

Stop dreaming and tell the kids to grow up.

    Suthep is a clown.

Suthep is the clown who should be jailed.

Well yesterday was Victory Day so the mis informed rabble will go home and the BIB will be able to cuff him. Oh forgot again the protest goes on because yesterday was not the Day of Victory

  15. Democrats Manifesto for the up coming election... only a few words. "Thaksin is the anti Christ'

There has never been a better chance for the Democrat Party to win an election with one million or more taking to the streets of Bangkok to express their utter disgust at the incompetent, corrupt thieving, lying PTP party. They can win one without the army and you just know they are going to f..k it up by only having one policy...get rid of Thaksin.

There is no more excuses for the Dem/yellow propaganda machine on this forum for why they have not been elected. May I suggest that the losing supporters retire to the gardening thread never to be heard posting on political news again. If its a proper election and Dems wina majority on their own I will never post in a political thread agin until the next election. Have the Peoples Council supporters got the stones to accept the challenge or will they be like their leader Suthep..keep moving the goal posts

  16. Oh Dear...the poor reds....thaksin cannot give them any handouts for a rally right now as they have to use the funds for the next elections. But be patient reds. They will be giving u Bt 500 or a Bt 1,000 soon for your votes and the lives of your future generations.

In the meanwhile, a lot of TV Members who are red sympathisers can maybe don ur red shorts and go up to the protestsing mobs in Bangkok (whom many of you claim to be a minoirty with no voice) and sound out your views and maybe you guys can also with your wives donate monies from your own pockets for the reds.

You and the rest of the rabid anti red mob on this and every other forum you hijack are pathetic. You all keep regurgitating the same propaganda over and over year after year. Anybody who tries to express a different opinion to you lot gets spammed. Give it a break <deleted>. Both parties give the ppl in the town I live in and everywhere else in the country money for their vote. They then proceed to vote for who they want. To say it is only one side of politics doing this is complete and utter B...S..t.

    and gets banned

  17. Collapse. Complete and utter collapse and devastation for PTP.

Yup - surely looks like it, and it feels dam_n GOOD!

Not just this post but all the posts so far on this thread are utter <deleted>. Sent them home from the stadium in Bangkok, not using live ammo, welcoming the protestors with flowers, dissolving the governmentand now going home while the rabble are still walking around Bangkok.

One step in front of Suthep all the way and showing Abhisit and Suthep how to confront an angry mob without shooting to kill

    What!!!

Is your brainbacktonormal yet? I think this response is shock at you're lot taking a hiding!!!

The rabble you talk about are the ones making all the money for Thailand's economy whilst this government then procedes to waste it all on the rice scam in enriching their mates bank balances in the pretence that they are helping the farmers.

Go back to bed in your red village and rest until your brain recovers.

Links to proof of rice scams please. Taking a hiding...stevie boy, we will see who takes a hiding in 60 days. You should go buy some vaseline, I believe it hurts like hell when your dry

  19. This is no more about yellow vs. red. Even some red shirts got disappointed with Mr. and Ms. Shin and went with the people now. You see something happening that Thailand has not seen like this before. Even the students are back to the streets to. It is not that the people on the street do not want an elected parliament, it is about getting rid of the Shin Clan. New elections will end up in the same situation with the Shins robbing the country further. This is why there is this request for that council. However we all agree that this des not work and that the poeple to deal with it are not so much better then the Shins. Everything here is about some interest someone has in something. People here are aware of all this. They know that Suthep is not an angel but they do not see any other way to try to get rid of the man in Dubai and his cronies. People here are afraid that Thailand could end up like the Philippines. Surely not desirable. So they choose between Pest and Cholera. The choice is not good but the only one at the moment. So lets see how the 'kindergarden' goes and grows and what happens over the next days. The situation now is a little bit like a dead end but I think to mobilise between 500.000 and 1 mio people on a work day without paying them means at least something in this country.

It sounds like the epic Ben Hur movie...whatever I cant believe that normal leve; headed people are going to give away the one man one vote principle to be dictated to for a few decades

  20. 100,000 on the streets in a country of 50,000,000.

A small minority trying to impose their will on a large majority.

When will Bangkokians learn that Thailand is much bigger than just Bangkok?

Bangkok is not Thailand. It's a part of Thailand.

seperate isarn from Thailand or let people vote on basis of the tax they pay.. that would solve the problem.

Also 100.000 protesting does not mean only 100.000 are not content.. remember the red Thugs that burned BKK down ? Seems it went a lot better this time.. far more civilized.

Lets put the strength of this rabble into a perspective that we cant disagree with. Thailand has 60,000,000 people of which lets say 40,000,000 have the right to vote. The 100,000 on the street represents 0.25% of the electorate. Truly representative of the nation...think not
