  1. So you can order a blue interior in Australia but it costs more and defers your delivery. Black interiors are free and will be ready sooner
  2. EV sales charts are fascinating. Take the Toyota bZ4X which has been on sale since last year. It sells for ฿1.83m after the Government EV incentive and it has sold only 22 cars this year. With EVs now representing over 10% of total vehicle sales in Thailand and the top selling Japanese EV brand is ranked 24th it does not look good for legacy manufacturers "From January to September, Thailand’s total vehicle sales reached 500,942 units, with EVs constituting 10.05% of this figure. This represents a significant shift from the previous year when only 9,729 EVs were sold in Thailand. The year-to-date 2023 sales surpass last year’s figures by over five times" https://carnewschina.com/2023/10/07/byds-ev-sales-in-thailand-reached-a-new-high-in-september-2023/
  3. Thanks for the update. Your dealer seems very busy, maybe my #3Q won’t take too long. Looking forward to seeing the BYD sales figures over the next few months. I already have a 7kW wall charger and can share between two cars until I get my second wall box.
  4. Thanks but no thanks.
  5. More EV Pickups options is a good thing. Some people apparently prefer Japanese to Chinese auto manufacturers - so here is some good news for them
  6. Built on GM’s Ultium platform, probably just for the US Market. https://electrek.co/2023/09/28/honda-unveils-first-electric-suv-2024-range-prices/
  7. Honda e:Ny1 (Stupid Name) (Lowercase e colon Capital N Lowercase y) much like the Toyota bZ4X (Lowercase b Capital Z Capital X) £44,100 (฿1,948,925) to £47,195 (฿2,085,452) Actual price in Thailand not yet released Based on the HRV platform No Durian storage (Frunk) 78kW charging 🤣 0-62 mph: 7.6 seconds 62kWh Lithium-ion Battery usable Honda WTF Were You Thinking?! - great title to the video
  8. My home Batteries are CATL LFPs and the manual says to charge to 100% once a week. Don't remember seeing about discharging to less than 10%. In fact my inverters would only allow the batteries to get to 22% SOC
  9. I have joined 3 Thai Seal FB groups and the post popular colour seems to be… Black with some extra Black Lighting the Road or Seeing through the Windows seems to be optional
  10. Update from BYD Buriram on our Seal Premium “You are Q#3” Still have no idea when our car is arriving
  11. The battery’s capacity to be fast charged needs to be matched with a charger capable of charging at that rate. You would be lucky to find chargers faster than 150kW in Thailand. The economics of installing a single 500kW charger don’t make much sense as it could cost as much 6x150kW chargers to install. I’m happy with a 20-80% charge in 24 minutes.
  12. Thanks @Andrew Dwyer Lots of great deals at the same time there’s talk of the ฿150,000 EV grant ending soon. Time for a bad case of FoMO
  13. Great News @macahoom My wife has just called our sales girl for an update. She said she would get back to us with a Q number 🤔
  14. I think @JBChiangRai will be cancelling his MG Cyberster to get one 😉 I drove the Fomm 1 at the Bangkok motor show in 2019. Sales were originally quite strong but newer entry of "proper" cars like the Neta V for the same price in the EV market have reduced sales to a trickle which is a shame.
  15. @christurner3857 52 minutes ago Don't forget you can charge for FREE at any BYD dealership, and the network is growing fast. Saw this comment on the video I posted above. Anybody confirm that this true? With MG I get free AC charging when I drop my car off for a service but otherwise you have to pay.
  16. The colours are free but not all are availably at every trim level.
  17. Thanks for posting this - very interesting
  18. I did comment on the video as EcoHouseThailand explaining that in Thailand there are number of freebies which effectively drop the price which are probably not available in other markets.
  19. The biggest selling point for Tesla in the EU & US is the charging infrastructure. In Thailand that is definitely not the case. After a year in Thailand Tesla charging is available in only 3 location Khorat, Pattaya and Greater BKK.
  20. BYD Seal is launched in Australia cheaper than the Atto 3 Although Aus based this video is an interesting discussion of the BYD Seal v Tesla Model 3 debate.
  21. Thanks. My criteria was LFP chemistry, being able to drive to BKK on one charge (which is more than I would ever want to do) V2L and a reasonable price. There is talk that the ฿150,000 EV grant will end this year but This Is Thailand (TIT) I test drove the BYD Seal Premium and instantly fell in love with it, then it was no longer a rational decision
  22. You dismissed a report from Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service’s fire investigation team, but offer instead "A slightly dodgy video IMO" ????
