  1. Whilst the basic equation energy in energy out equal then no weight gain seems reasonable, a better explanation would be:

    IN = 6+2+7

    out = 15x1

therefore in=out no problem, however the in could be 6 pints, 2 bags of crisp and 7 whiskeys

What we need to consider is not just the total amount in but the quality of what we are putting in, we need a mix of veg, carbs, ( a pint of beer )  meat, fish pulses etc

I never understand these fad diets, watermelon only, avoid carbs, vegan, vegetarian........ useless

We have incisor teeth designed to eat meet

We have a Gaul bladder to take care of fat

we have insulin system to deal with sugar

But man those 6 pints are very tempting to form a apart of the makeup

  2. Good luck, doing the wife's FLR beginning of next month.

Don't forget you need to pay the 500 GBP NHS surcharge before you apply

Regarding statements should be OK, are you using lump sum or your income to meet financial requirement? or a combination.

If they are stamped I believe that they should be ok for submission.

Wonder what will happen when the oil runs out???

    That is not very likely.

More key is the cost of extraction, Iran, Iraq and Saudi is about or less than 10 USD a barrel. These boys are still making money.

However the cost of all the subsidies, social benefits and general running of the country, means that heave a shortfall. Combine this with a young population expanding rapidly and it is of little doubt they will be able to keep the genie in the bottle indefinitely

Japan does have one of the highest per capita suicide rates at rank 17.  https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_suicide_rate

Good point, but it is declining, and the vast majority of those suicides is amongst the unemployed, NOT the employed.

This does say something about the social pressure and that is worrying that there is insufficient support, but things are changing.

There but for the grace of God.............

Trans is always here, but his 20+ years love affair with his car is GONE......No cash can replace that..............It might help though....

How about we get TV members to carry "one piece at a time" in their carry on when they go overseas (I wonder if Johnny Cash did it that way ) will need to get a good parts numbering system in place

The Japanese worker is normally very depressed. Long hours and little reward is the cause!

And what are you basing this statement on, ?

    You have worked in Japan?

    Lived in Japan?

You have first hand knowledge of social etiquette?

    You know the expected norms?

Please do tell before making such farcical, uneducated, irrelevant comments

It is a sad issue which I resurrect in a down moment from time to time.....Many here understand and commiserate and leave me alone to shed a tear.... :(

    This is completely unacceptable,

    we must start a petition,

    not even credible,

like we are missing a piston

I vote to bring it back,

    no more tears for Trans

    A soul that we lack,

    Next will be a van

    failing that a fund

    one to help this man

    your current so rotund

    BRING BACK TRANS

  8. UK courts need to be fair, seek custody of the kids and that will be taken care of in the settlement.

If she has already started proceedings  in the Uk, then talk to a solicitor and seek to revoke the ILR under appeal.

If not best bet is start in Thailand, whilst you are obviously together, if you claimed otherwise they have no way to prove, and you cannot be divorced twice so start NOW

What passport do the kids have?

Sorry to ask but are they yours or inherited by marriage? This will make a difference

Act now so she has minimal access to your wealth, cancel all the cards, etc

Does she have her name on any assets?

And Trans singing in the background....:giggle:

Only if it is the sound of the V8, which leads me to another issue......... where has the Transam gone, when did you change the logo? :-(

Unless of course you have a 7 litre installed in a Toyota?

  10. Overall I think it is positive, so well done to the team behind this gigantean task.

One thing which I think would be an improvement is that the original posting should be the first post  at the top of every page, in order that it helps to focus on the original post.

    Keep up the good work

    BBQ rat

    Actually it is not bad

Durian, love the smell fermented tofu (actually worse in Taiwan) on the other hand definitely a NO GO

Just about any airline food yuk

Any of the Thai drinks which have unnatural colouring.....they cannot be right

Really scary... raw prawns, love them but it is definitely Russian roulette on the tummy

Congealed blood in my noodle soup... lovely, would help if they gave a spoon rather than chop sticks to eat soup...

Most frightening of all.......... A well done steak with local red wine

  12. lets not deride the Thais too much, I had many competent engineers working for me and their English language was excellent ( would not have been employed if not )

What is more of a concern is inward investment, and for that to happen investors need to be confident in the stability of a country, infrastructure, capability, political interference, nowadays compliance (SOX) initial costs, potential market, tax, employment law ( all Gate 1 stuff )  therefore ....... .........well it could happen, but thinking about Asia, in terms of building technology driven digital, I would consider Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia much better places.

India and Bangladesh bad taxes, poor infrastructure, difficult to retain staff

    Singapore too expensive

Indonesia a possibility, but nit without problems

    Thailand............?

  13. Health Insurance.

    Car

    Motorbike

    money for visa

    Rent/Buy accommodation

    Fixtures and fittings

    Crazy first 3 months

Almost as crazy next 3 months

6 ex GF after 12 months

    Travel

    Eating out

    Boozing it up out

Phuket, Pats, Nakon nowhere  all big difference

    Maintaining anything in UK

Paid up NI for SP in UK

With that amount it all needs to be considered, all factored in and 16 MTHB whilst not bad, he could do better, and should consult independent financial advice  AND pay for it

  14. Minister "I think my wife is having an affair"

    OK

"we have all SIM cards registered, can you trace where she is going for me?"

Agh, agh, well to do that we would need to buy new equipment, and intergrate them

    "Is that expensive"

    VERY

"Well how about we get tourists and those pesky foreign residents to pay for it"

Great idea we can market it as "Being concerned"

'Great raise the Purchase Order now and I will award the contract  based on how well the suppliers "make Tea"

  15. And if you wait for her husband to come back, she may lose face, in which case the incident will be exaggerated resulting at a minimum of a disgruntled neighbour, at worst physical conflict and the husband demanding that it becomes a police matter.

Pay the full agreed price, Thais like to haggle, but once a price is agreed there is no more negotiation, further face will be lost.

Get your wife to give the full agreed price, stay away from your neighbour, and let the two ladies sort it, and stay off the booze,

  16. Well you had a smashing time.....

I guess the glass was not half full.....

Pay up in full, send the missus to deliver it, and they can then prevent loss of face, describe your actions being down to you being a falang, who drinks excessively, thinks he is gods gift to all women, does not understand that a locked door, even if the lights are on, mean they want to talk to you, probably scared the host senseless, allows his dog to trespass...............
