  1. So a dog is thrown into the sea and four high-ranking policemen get involved. Meanwhile, on the same day, a man is burned to death and there is minimal police response :-
  2. He already gave his side of the story in the report.
  3. Yeah, that worked well. "Mathews blamed impaired judgment from the cannabis for his actions" Except he broke in before he consumed the cannabis.
  4. Apart from the one between a Thai woman and a foreigner.
  5. Cat was out of the bag years ago, I first went there 40 years ago and it really was idyllic then. Definitely no fire shows back then, since when did they become part of the island?
  6. It's an old scam that dates back years ago - they claim to have damaged "black" dollar bills that you can clean using their special chemical. They offer to sell you the damaged dollar bills along with the chemical, allowing you to literally "clean up". Of course, anyone with even half a brain would ask why the sellers didn't just clean the dollar bills themselves.
  7. Where in the article does it say that she starved to death?
  8. My Wise Sterling jar is currently paying 4.2%, Dollar 4.18% and Euro is paying 2.61%.
  9. All winning government lottery tickets are subject to 0.5% tax
  10. Could of been a lot worse :- https://thethaiger.com/hot-news/road-deaths/tragic-accident-in-khon-kaen-as-falling-tamarind-tree-kills-driver-severely-injures-wife A couple of weeks later I was driving the same road and there was a tree partly across the road with an old guy looking at it and scratching his head as if to say "how did that happen?".
  11. Yeah, Neil has got much bigger bazongas.
  12. Luckily they had a spare table. Who just happened to pass by.
  13. Yeah, they have a monopoly on selling them too.
  14. Does the time of year have anything to do with how they calculate their rates? Maybe during high season they think they can fill the place using day rates and in low season they are more inclined to strike a bargain? I'm just thinking out loud, I've never done a long term hotel rental.
  15. You did read the part where it said the monk had left the temple years ago didn't you? Or were you too busy making sure you were the first to comment?
  16. A Yamaha R15 is 155cc, definitely not a big bike.

  18. She was charged with helping to hide evidence. https://www.nationthailand.com/news/general/40043449
  19. New government ministers so new distribution of envelopes required. "In a move that perhaps signalled a shift, predecessor Sutin Khlangsang had suggested the navy might pivot to acquiring a frigate instead of the problematic submarine" If they actually need a frigate then why didn't they try to buy one or is this just an attempt to make sure the budget gets spent, one way or another?
  20. Such a cunning plan, can't believe it failed.
  21. So in a nutshell the prime minister is being accused of being unduly influenced by her father and her father has said not to worry, I'll sort it out.
  22. One of the news channels showed the family at the police station following the arrest. The son and daughter-in-law were on their knees apologising and the mother rapped the daughter-in-law on the head a couple of times with her knuckles. Her son on the other hand got a big hug instead.
  23. I deferred taking my pension for a year in order to get the higher rate due in April 2023 but when I received my first payment it was less than I expected. When I called them to query this I was told that my pension was frozen at the rate in force on the day I was eligible to claim, not at the rate in force on the day when I actually made my claim. Something to watch out for if you're thinking of holding off claiming until after the next April increase.
