Great picture, looking at the size of the shoes and the jeans, they only targeted really tall people.

Illegal workers in South Korea: Amnesty for Thai nationals
nahkit replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Different type of amnesty. The last one allowed them to return to Thailand without fear of prosecution, this one is asking for them to be granted a legal work permit and be allowed to remain there. -

The scan hasn't taken place yet and I did note your earlier post regarding the dangers of doing a scan with contrast outside of a hospital.
-
We attended a government hospital in Khonkaen at the beginning of February where my wife was told that she needed an MRI brain scan. The doctor advised that she was eligible for free treatment at another government hospital but he suggested that the waiting time for a free scan might be excessive so we agreed to have it carried out at the hospital we were attending. The cost is just over 20k baht and the appointment is in 6 weeks time. I fell somewhat cheated to discover on here that we could get the scan done privately for 7,200 and they have appointment slots available in as little as a week. The wife doesn't want to go to the private clinic and save over 10k as she is worried that the doctor will be offended. Such is the mindset in rural Thailand.

I'd always thought that if you are British by Descent then there is no automatic right for you to pass on British citizenship to your child but at the same time there was nothing to stop you from applying and having the case assessed on its individual merits. Been a long time since I looked into this so things may have changed and I could be totally wrong, but its something I would be interested in obtaining an answer to as my grandchildren fall into this category also.

So a government scheme with an estimated budget of 500 billion baht "may be open to corruption". Who'd have thought it? From the full article :- "The NACC has suggested that the Election Commission study whether a political party is legally bound to implement its election manifesto policies once it is in government". Will they be looking into the previous lots promise to stamp out corruption?

Thai police officer kills boyfriend of his friend’s daughter in Bangkok
nahkit replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
I wasn't basing my comments on the report here, I was basing them on what I saw in the video that they played over and over on the Thai news. The occupants of the car could of driven off any time they wanted to. -

So you agree that he was sitting in a car and not in any danger to his life? -
Thai police officer kills boyfriend of his friend’s daughter in Bangkok
nahkit replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
He was sitting in his car, with another person (so two against one) and could have driven away any time he wanted to. Do you understand that? Plus, by driving to the other persons house, he instigated the confrontation. -

Yes, way out of his jurisdiction. He was in his car at the time and could of driven away from the confrontation any time he wanted to. -

No, you've got it all wrong mate, they weren't trying to frame the husband, they were just playing a joke on him! Seriously, this is the response from the police, as reported in Thaiger, when asked about the nine hours of torture and abuse they inflicted on the husband :- "They were just playing a prank on Panya. They confessed it and said they did not do it seriously." https://thethaiger.com/news/national/prosthetic-police-probe-thai-man-accuses-hopalong-cop-of-wifes-murder-confession-coercion What a sense of humour those boys in brown have.

Bangkok child rescue: 8-year-old escapes brutal treatment
nahkit replied to snoop1130's topic in Bangkok News
There is a government orphanage in Khonkaen and also at least one private foundation (Ban Luuk Rak). I would imagine that the government has other orphanages throughout the country.
