nahkit replied to snoop1130's topic in Isaan News
You did read the part where it said the monk had left the temple years ago didn't you? Or were you too busy making sure you were the first to comment? -

Thai Navy's Submarine Plans Stalled Pending Feasibility Study
nahkit replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
New government ministers so new distribution of envelopes required. "In a move that perhaps signalled a shift, predecessor Sutin Khlangsang had suggested the navy might pivot to acquiring a frigate instead of the problematic submarine" If they actually need a frigate then why didn't they try to buy one or is this just an attempt to make sure the budget gets spent, one way or another? -
Thaksin Negotiates for Paetongtarn Amid Potential PM Suspension

So in a nutshell the prime minister is being accused of being unduly influenced by her father and her father has said not to worry, I'll sort it out. -
I deferred taking my pension for a year in order to get the higher rate due in April 2023 but when I received my first payment it was less than I expected. When I called them to query this I was told that my pension was frozen at the rate in force on the day I was eligible to claim, not at the rate in force on the day when I actually made my claim. Something to watch out for if you're thinking of holding off claiming until after the next April increase.

Here are a couple of articles which might explain why they are having difficulties finding a suitable interpreter:- The first link carries a story of how their original interpreter was attacked in the street after representing them and then was subsequently charged with drug offences by the RTP - not exactly going to have people queuing up to help them after that. https://www.khaosodenglish.com/news/crimecourtscalamity/courts/2016/06/01/bombing-suspect-interpreter-arrested-after-telling-court-i-worry-about-my-life/ The second link tells, amongst other things, how the court tried to appoint an interpreter provided by the Chinese government which the defendants disagreed with but were told by the court to suck it up. https://www.benarnews.org/english/news/thai/no-interpreter-08172021161730.html -

I can't help wondering what tasks she was hoping he would perform for her. Definitely sounds like Thai soap opera material. -

If they truly respected the law then why did they do nothing for almost 20 years. -
Unfortunately I wasn't so lucky when I visited a Samsung Service centre. I had a problem with my phone where I couldn't hear what the person calling was saying but they could hear me. I took the phone to a service centre and they replaced a part, charged me just over 1k and said it came with a six month warranty. A week later I had exactly the same problem again so I took it back. I was told that it was now a major problem, would cost 5x as much to fix and I would lose all my data. When I asked why it wasn't being repaired for free under the warranty I was told because its a different problem. So, displays exactly the same characteristics but now its a different problem?

Earlier today I was looking at the description of an hotel on Agoda. At the end of the description, there was the following sentence "[Some content may be Generative AI assisted. Inaccuracies may occur.]" Does this now mean that if you book an hotel and when you arrive you find it doesn't match its description that there is no comeback on the hotel, they just tell you, tough, it was AI generated so it's not our fault? Why on earth would they need an AI generated description in the first place? Surely they know what amenities they have and what the rooms look like?
