  1. Must be tough when you only have his name and address to go on.
  2. I think keeping someone in detention for 21 years without a trial is a disgrace.
  3. "The federal government took deliberate and strategic action through boarding school policies to isolate children from their families, deny them their identities, and steal from them the languages, cultures, and connections that are foundational to Native people,” The Welsh Not was a token used by teachers at some schools in Wales in the 19th century and early 20th century to discourage children from speaking Welsh at school, by marking out those who were heard speaking the language. Accounts suggest that its form and the nature of its use could vary from place to place, but the most common form was a piece of wood suspended on a string that was put around the child's neck. Terms used historically include Welsh not, Welsh note, Welsh lump, Welsh stick, cwstom, Welsh Mark, and Welsh Ticket. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Welsh_Not When do you think the English will apologise or offer compensation? How about children in the UK that were transported to Australia for petty crimes? Fact is, crap has happened all over the world for centuries, people should just move on.
  4. Wow, he must be shaking in his shoes at the prospect of being charged with an overstay.
  5. Sounds like they should be dealing with the Chinese, they're experts on offering reciprocal benefits when it comes to doing a deal.
  6. So next time take the ticket yourself to the government office, problem solved, but you will still pay 1 baht for every 200 baht of winnings Did you really think the shopkeeper should do it for you without any charge? In Khonkaen the seller will typically charge 1.5 or 2% to cash in a ticket, up to you to shop around.
  7. Yeah, because police officers are well known for advising people to stage fake kidnappings. Who makes this garbage up?
  8. Two days ago I was shopping in Tesco with my wife. After we paid our bill a lady shouted at us to come back and for a moment I thought we must have forgotten to pay for something. We walked back and she asked to see our bill and then told us because we had bought more than 750 baht worth of items we were eligible to receive a set of 3 knives plus a potato peeler at the incredible price of 200 baht. On accepting this wondrous offer we were then told we needed to also buy a set of saucepans at yet another incredible discount. We declined this kind offer, much to the lady's disgust. Can I now look forward to all Tesco stores in Khonkaen being closed down following this terrible attempt at a scam or will I need to first open up a Youtube channel? Warning - the above contains sarcasm. Seriously, they bought items worth 800 baht, paid with a 1,000 baht note and then accepted a necklace in lieu of the 200 baht change and that is newsworthy?
  9. As in politics, he just gets a back-up part.
  10. p*ssy-whipped. Wonder how long this will stay up?

  13. So the party the actually won the election don't have a candidate that has been cleared by the election commission?
  14. So the headline says "thailands visa free policy draws record tourist numbers from taiwan india" And the first line of the article says "Thailand anticipates a record influx of tourists from Taiwan and India this year, thanks to its recent visa-free policy." So which one is it? They have already drawn a record number of tourists less than a week after it was announced or they anticipate that it might? The usual totally crud reporting.
  15. Worked for me. Try putting this in your browser and see if it works :- https://www.expattaxthailand.com/your-questions-answered/
  16. How awful to read that different parties are trying to influence the new senators. Lets get back to the good old days when only one person was allowed to influence them.
  17. I think it's the daughter of Newin Chidchob that you are talking about. "In April, Newin Chidchob, a close associate of Anutin’s, organised a “Cannabis Expo,” also in Buriram, where he proclaimed that marijuana could be Thailand’s cure for poverty and disease. Newin is a patron of BJT and CEO of Buriram United Football Club. He is not a politician, but is widely known as the puppet-master behind many MPs in Buriram. Shortly thereafter, Newin’s daughter Chidchanok Chidchob registered with the Ministry of Health to create Buriram Community Enterprise (BCE), Thailand’s first cannabis supplier. " Courtesy of Fulcrum https://fulcrum.sg/thailands-marijuana-politics-down-from-a-high/ Worth reading the whole article in my opinion.
  18. So you think a study that comes up with a rate of 0.02% accounts for "Brits all looking alike"? What's responsible for your own particular ignorance?
  19. Thank god they gave him something else to wear.
