You need to get a professional exterminator in while you still have walls.

In Thailand, the war in Ukraine divides the generations
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
If you were to keep Russian oil and gas completely out of the international market, it would drive the prices up high enough to collapse the world economy. Not an attractive outcome. -
In Thailand, the war in Ukraine divides the generations
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
True, but transitory. The bigger picture is that if Germany quits buying gas from Russia, they'll have to buy it elsewhere, and that will displace the countries that will have to find a new source, and that will lead back eventually to Russia selling their gas to someone who isn't in on the sanctions. So what has that particular sanction accomplished other than driving up the world price of Russia's main export product(s)? -
So were mine (BOI), but 1 year. And I always had to go to the Soi 11 clinic, pay the nice lady 400 baht, let her draw some blood, say hi to the doctor and get a certificate that attested to the fact that I didn't have syphilis. I'm sure some companies fake the medical certificate for their employees without even bothering them with the minutia.

Died out, gone underground or just hard for us to detect? Our understanding of life as we know it is carbon based, using liquid water as a solvent. What's to prevent silicon based life, using liquid methane instead of water? Perhaps living on a time scale that just looks like it's standing still to our puny eyes. Or living underground?

Passanger without helmet, who pays the fine?
impulse replied to tethys's topic in Motorcycles in Thailand
If they know the popo is up ahead, they generally handed me a helmet and made me put it on. And they always knew when the popo was up ahead, and whether they were looking for helmet violations or just paperwork. -
Southern Group to Stop Violence During Holy Month of Ramadan
impulse replied to snoop1130's topic in Southern Thailand News
I don't ever advocate violence, but I'm not sure what I'd do if the Elites from the capitol city pushed my family off the land we'd been farming for 20 generations, with newly minted paperwork. It's not that simple, of course. But that's a big component of the insurgency. Up north, the violence gets blamed on land and business disputes, drug cartels, human trafficking, loan sharks, etc. In the south, it all gets lumped into the insurgency. -
Here's a decent (?) review... This guy is generally pretty picky. No comment from me since I usually fly the cheap seats.

https://www.lazada.co.th/products/uni-t-mini-sound-level-meter-uni-t-ut353-i2828575386-s10317348018.html Uni-T is pretty reputable, and for $16.... I don't know how they could calibrate one based on a smartphone app. It's possible it could tell which sound is louder, but not the absolute dB level.

'Gatick' Admits to False Statement on Tangmo Case
impulse replied to webfact's topic in Bangkok News
Wow. If she wasn't hanging off the back of the boat to pee and fell off, that does raise some questions... -
When I first moved to China in 1999, a lot of the people out at the corner store at night/ early morning wore PJ's. They generally didn't go out of the neighborhood like that, and the trend has waned quite a bit in the past 20+ years. Still, a lot more tasteful than the wife beater, cutoff short shorts and ratty sandals so de rigueur with a lot of foreigners...

It would also be helpful to see how the LED strip is powered.

She realized exactly what she was doing. Happened to me quite often at hospital pharmacies. Most patients don't care if they're covered 100% by insurance.

Tourism will survive, but the current owners won't be there. All over the world, there's been a massive transfer of wealth as small businesses go belly up and the market share and the assets get snapped up by the big guys.

Be careful with that because adding even a pretty basic GPU for gaming can easily double the cost of a $500 computer. If you want a sense of the speed of the CPU or GPU, here's the site I always refer to. https://www.cpubenchmark.net/

Whatever you do, pick one that's had kids. She'll know how to change a diaper when that time comes.

Maybe not. One arrested guy owned the boat, the other guy drove the boat, and the lady was supposed to hold onto her while she hung off the back to pee. That may be all they'll go after. If anything, I suspect they're trying to keep the heat off any "Mr Big" by scapegoating the little fish. Still waiting to hear any toxicology results from one of the autopsies... Anyone?

I bought every car I ever owned, too. Even while I was living in Mom and Dad's home, eating their food, enjoying their health care benefits and... I also borrowed their cars before I could afford my own. The reason I didn't borrow their scooter is because they didn't have one. All the families in my neighborhood made enough money that we didn't have to rely on scooters to get around. I'm sure every parent who's ever lost a child to a scooter wreck wishes they had strapped their kid into a seatbelt instead of throwing a leg over a scooter. Back home that was just expected. In Thailand, economics make that a luxury. It's certainly not that Thai parents don't love their kids.

During the years I lived in BKK and traveled to Songkhla for work, I kept hoping they'd open up the SKL navy airstrip for commercial flights. That hourlong stretch from Hat Yai airport to SKL town was a white knuckle deal even in good conditions with company vetted drivers. Most companies forbade their employees from taking that trip in the dark.

But wouldn't that restart protest season?
