  1. Good info, and a great cautionary tale. If I did vape, I'd probably keep my head down for a while.
  2. Out of curiosity, did he get a receipt from the popo? I'm not doubting that it happened. Just wondering how above board it was?
  3. All that may be true. But smoking is worse. If the choice is vaping or nothing, nothing is probably better for you. If the choice is vaping or smoking, the best argument against vaping seems to be the chance of getting tossed in jail. That's what makes it more hazardous. It's been the same with weed vs booze for most of my entire life. Weed may not be good, but booze is worse. But you won't get arrested for a few booze seeds in your car's carpeting.
  4. Ummm.. It's the beginning of spring in the USA, not the end of summer. Try harder next time.
  5. Meanwhile, the price of gas is less than $3 at the pump in 31 states. Don't take my word for it. Google it.
  6. Sad story all around, at several levels. I hope she didn't suffer on the canopy after she landed.
  7. Pack into an hour or less and I may watch it. 8 hours? No thanks. What do they figure is the market size of people willing to watch 8 hours? It's more like a vanity project that's bound to lose money.
  8. My suggestion would be to go by the Thaniya Plaza near the Sala Daeng (sp?) BTS stop (MRT Silom) and ask around the golf shops in that building. They'll have current info. And it's worth a visit if you're a golfer in Bangkok. You may end up at a completely indoor facility as opposed to a typical outdoor driving range.
  9. Got no problem with that. You earned it. But I'm not sure the youngsters traveling the world on disability have kicked in their fair share just yet.
  10. I can also afford to eat out in Bangkok. New Orleans? Not so much. More specifically, I can afford the food that Bangkok is famous for. New Orleans has great food, but bring money. Lots of it if you want to eat somewhere famous. Though they do have some great, affordable holes in the wall.
  11. I don't blame him, the way the Dem elite shafted him in favor of HRC. But he'll always be associated with the Dems.
  12. Does he have an autopen? Because you're going to be reading a lot about Biden's soon.
  13. Biden and Harris revealed their medical report. Not Trump Jeez Louise. I trust my lying eyes before I'd trust a medical report from a politician. Or a report from a lefty news source.
  14. I've read dozens of posts on AN over the years from Brits bragging on how smart they are, scamming their benefits by not letting the gub'ment know they're in Thailand. They're claiming it's not a scam. But then I read this (posted earlier) But there there are several instances where it is classified as fraud if you have benefits paid to you while abroad, which can include. Not telling office that pays your benefit you’re going abroad, even if it’s just for a visit
  15. Assuming he wasn't in on it for a cut.
  16. I rather enjoy Sky News from Australia. From the UK? Not so much.
  17. So you don't figure he may have stroked out or had a heart attack, leading to the crash? That's why they do autopsies. I'm open to the possibility he may have been otherwise impaired, but I suspect his family would want an investigation.
  18. Translation: They'll only eat you if they're hungry.
  19. It's a good thing Pelosi took him out of the race.
  20. From Ontario Premier Ford: “I want to apologize to the American people. I spent 20 years of my life in the US, in New Jersey, in Chicago. I love the American people,” Ford expressed during a radio show appearance. He further praised Secretary Lutnick and President Trump, acknowledging their business acumen and emphasizing the need to move forward in strengthening U.S.-Canada relations. We need to put this behind us and move forward and build the two strongest countries in the world.” Canada's Premier Apologizes to U.S. Following Threat to Raise Energy Prices - Crystal Clear News From other sources: Trump initially gained concessions from Canada in February, forcing them to aid in curtailing the illegal fentanyl trade in exchange for a pause on a 25% general goods tariff enacted Feb. 1. However, Trump eventually let the pause expire, with the tariff resuming in March. Once Ford backed down on his plan to implement the export fees, Trump reversed his planned hike to 50% on steel and aluminum tariffs. Ford is expected to meet with Lutnick Thursday in Washington, D.C. If a deal is not reached by the April 2 deadline, the tariffs will resume. (And if you don't like those sources, just Google it.)
  21. I wonder how many sphincters here on AN tightened up reading this from the Mirror: The UK Government website says a British citizen may still be able to claim some benefits even if they travel or move abroad, or even if they already live abroad. But there there are several instances where it is classified as fraud if you have benefits paid to you while abroad, which can include. Not telling office that pays your benefit you’re going abroad, even if it’s just for a visit Deliberately not reporting a change in your circumstances while abroad, like buying a property, working, or claiming a pension or benefit from another country Being dishonest in order to get benefits, like continuing to claim the pension or benefit of someone who has died overseas Brit mum notorious for TikToks on claiming benefits living abroad 'locked up in Thailand' - World News - Mirror Online
  22. Reminds me of some beatdowns I witnessed on the Atlantic City boardwalk back in the '70s when someone tried on a dine and dash. The vendors all looked after each other. That was before cell phones, when they'd gather a posse and go looking for them. They were looking for payback, not a "fair fight". That would just be stoopid. Anyone witnessing it would think 3 times before doing the dine and dash anywhere on the boardwalk.
  23. Once again, that's a detail that's probably lost on people considering Thailand as their tourism destination. And once again, I have no objection to restraining them. But those optics aren't great. They could have easily cropped that photo or done the normal finger pointing at the table photo. As it is, it looks rather 3rd world.
