I had a similar problem with my AIS sim several years ago. I would receive on average four sms a day, in Thai. Apparently they were news flashes. Little did I know that they were charging me 2 Baht a time. My Wife contacted them, and they told her I had registered for it, which I had not. It took her another ten minutes on the phone to cancel them. Even then they said it will take 24 hours to cancel, so they still gouged me for another day. As Steve says, go to the shop.

I thought I read the other day that the BMA stated the removal of cables was to stop. Something about the telecom providers unwilling to pay a percentage of the costs?

Why do they not have a compensation scheme as other countries do regarding the police force. I believe in the U.K. it is called the CICA. I appreciate that policemen, and Women, are only human, however, surely part of their job description is that they are always deemed to be on duty. Therefore, on down time and getting drunk, leave any firearms safely locked away. A Government funded scheme for compensation would at least ensure this man received his money, which, sadly at the moment is as far away as our nearest star.

I seem to recall that about three years ago Thailand banned all meat from entering the Kingdom unless you had a permit. Something to do with swine fever in Asia. Having said that, I am not sure if that covered tinned products or not.

A 33% increase in one go. Seems a bit steep at first glance, yet how much has other foodstuffs risen in the last 14 years. However, I have to agree with Richard, why not grow more wheat at home. Everyone I know is complaining about the small profit on rice. Millions of acres devoted to growing corn for biofuel. Maybe time to diversify a bit more. Probably a simplistic idea as I am not a farmer. I am sure more knowledgeable members will put forward the pro's and cons.
